As India advances, so will the great women in our country shall advance beyond their limits. They shall be as equal as possible and they will be independent. They will lift out of poverty and work for themselves as much as they will be able to support at least themselves on their own. One day, no longer will there be "damsels in distress" but confident women who help themselves and society.

Living in NYC many years ago, I had to pick up my new glasses. I'm legally blind without them, so I couldn't read signs or tell where I was. I asked many people very polite where I was. Nobody would help me but a sweet young woman in a store. They all looked at me oddly and avoided me. She told me the cross street and I was able to get my glasses. The sense of helplessness was isolating and terrifying. That young woman has no idea what a gift she gave me.

    Absolutely!
My Grandmother was from Poland. She was illiterate in both Polish & English. She went to Night School to learn how to read & write English so she could correspond with her oldest Son who was in Europe fighting during WWII. She was in her mid-60s at the time.
My Mother (her Daughter) once said to me, "there is only one thing in life that you can't lose & no one can take away from you... your knowledge; once you learn something, it is yours for life."
