Yes, me too,...seriously Volkswagen,...I would buy a California Edition of this van in, as they say, a heart beat! This is the van I would use a lot now , as I am retired and can go when and where I wish; and I would really like to have one of these VW Vans to make my road trips complete.
This is a tailgating and camping dream! I would get one without the full kitchen. 5 seats and pop up roof so we could sleep. I want one of these. I would buy it today if it was available!!!
8:50 - you forgot about the small compartment below that... it has a space for a 1.5 liter bottle if I’m not wrong. This is the same exact interior as the VW Multivan my dad has minus the camper stuff :)
VW should definitely bring this van to North America. Not that I would buy one right away, but this is a fantastic lifestyle. Also bring the DIESEL model!
+guy proulx Because the North American government will use everything they can to strike the European car companies to "protect" their crappy American brands. And they don't even announce the Fiat Chrysler emission cheating to the public, instead, they just "demand" FCA to recall their vehicles. I like American cars, but as a matter of fact, they are just not as good as the European cars.
You should talk more about the base of the california which is the volkswagen transporter panel van. In my opinion it's the best van that money can buy.
An electric version of a VW bus is a dumb idea. Where the heck do you find a charging station in the Owyhee region, or even in Mazama, Wa. For long travel, and especially the kind of travel a VW bus lends itself to, you need a gas or diesel engine.
Lionel Job honestly, I think putting a solar panel on that pop up roof might do the trick. But yes, I think if it wanted to be an actual overlander, It would need at least a charging engine like in the i3
With myself being interested in micro camping which is by converting either a Ford Econoline or a Chevy express I think that this VW California would be an amazing option especially to make campers or people who are interested in micro campers such as myself because that’s such a nice option to have a vehicle that’s already pre-specked out for some of these things like that sort of kitchen area that is one of the best things I like about that vehicle and wish I could buy this vehicle in United States
Appreciate the video. Cool to know you guys make this ramdom Type of vehicle once in a while. Thank you. If we had this vehicle in the US i would buy it
Always kind of liked VW vans. Even the old rear engine jobs. There's just something very cool and sharp about them. And a camper van for about $50K is about the right price level too. And the T6 is way cool. And the fact that it has left wheel drive says it would easily be adapted for U.S. highways.
An AWD camper that looks like it seats and sleeps 4 people - what's not to like. I would like to look at the options on the lesser models without the kitchen and fridge before deciding which one to buy. But if VW brought this to North America, I'd definitely be interested.
I'm looking forward to the I.D. Buzz These vans would look great with my red Mustang GT. I live in the San Francisco peninsula so they'd sell well here. Maybe offer more power, as in a VR6?. That mpg isn't bad considering all the accessories it's hauling. And the window shades are a nice touch to shield from prying eyes. The base price of 43000 Euros or $51,000 is kinda high.
I owned more VW's than any other Cars I have owned. I had three Pop Tops and enjoyed every single one I had and it's to bad i didn't keep my last Westfalia I so sorry now I didn't. We supported VW here in America so VW are you listening bring the California into America and then will sell and sell good here. But let us enjoy this beautiful little Pop Top we helped you now you help us Please I'll buy one right away.
Looks like $900 for 84 months on a $70K Volkswagen California Ocean if imported to the US. I am starting to see 84 month car notes Just like when 48 month payments 40 years ago
Is there a feature to lock the vehicle when you are sleeping inside so no one can open from outside? Also if you have some stuff in refrigerator, can you park and go to work? No reviews cover such practical aspects in specific.
Push a button down on the door to lock the van at night, this turns off the alarm whilst you are asleep. The refrigerator works off the leisure battery so will keep everything cool all day, the van has 3 batterys.
VW sux for not releasing this great vehicle in the US.! Since VW does not want the US business... "PLEASE" some other american company make something comparable !
So freaking disappointed that this box of awesomeness is not being sold in America where we actually have a almost infinate amount of space compared to any european country for camping. What a shame. I would buy this in a heartbeat.
This is PERFECT for light rving, this is what they should have brought instead of the dodge with a VW badge onit van VOLKSWAGEN!!!!!!!!IF YOU WANT TO BRING NEW MODELS HERE BRING THIS,...& THE POLO AS AN ENTRY BUDGET CAR!!!!!
Buy one in a minute. I have a Winnebago View, touted as the best small liveable RV in the states. It’s just too complicated so I am practically giving it away. Looking for a domestic conversion van that is more like this. At 71 I have to think I will be dead and gone before VW brings the Ocean to our shores
If it was just powerful enough to actually haul a travel trailer. The van would be a great in between sites. The van as itself would work for a weekend get away
That thing is sweet, it’d probably sell well here in the US. It’d make a great rental service to boot, better than those stupid green Chrysler minivans with rooftop tents I see all over the place down her in southern CA.
It's a shame it isn't available here. Unfortunately I feel those of us who would like one of these are just a small minority of all the people who would buy campers. There are still too many people in this country who think bigger is better and have no concept of saving money. They buy a massive class A motor home with a bank loan, and fork out thousands and thousands on gasoline costs, and then decades later wonder why they don't have any money saved for retirement.
Minivan is the most particle vehicle on earth. It is sad to see Minivan is disappearing in the U.S. Toyota make a lot of particle minivan oversea, such as Noah, Estima, and Alphard. Toyota sell tons of those oversea. Alphard is the most luxurious of all. It's like a Lexus Minivan. For U.S. Market, if you need to find something similar will be the Mercedes Metris without the AWD option.
Godless Toyota I have driven Sienta, Noah, Estima, and Alphard/Vellfire and test drive a Sienna but don’t remember which term it was. I have to say, Sienna is very close to Estima but the size of the Alphard. Though Alphard still much easier to handle than Sienna.
Yes, me too,...seriously Volkswagen,...I would buy a California Edition of this van in, as they say, a heart beat!

I love it when Nathan takes a shot or two at Roman!!
So then every video that Nathan does?
I never thought I would say this, but I want that van!
This is a tailgating and camping dream! I would get one without the full kitchen. 5 seats and pop up roof so we could sleep. I want one of these. I would buy it today if it was available!!!
Many people in Europe buy the VW extra swivel seats to use when not camping, the beach can fit two, Ocean one.
I had a 75 Westfalia - the layout in this van is essentially the same and still the best! I wish it was available in Canada too.
8:50 - you forgot about the small compartment below that... it has a space for a 1.5 liter bottle if I’m not wrong. This is the same exact interior as the VW Multivan my dad has minus the camper stuff :)

Banana Republic
VW-Diesel = Diesel-Water
Fact: Your cummins diesel produces way more emission than VW diesel
+guy proulx Because the North American government will use everything they can to strike the European car companies to "protect" their crappy American brands. And they don't even announce the Fiat Chrysler emission cheating to the public, instead, they just "demand" FCA to recall their vehicles. TDi would be the ONLY option.
You should talk more about the base of the california which is the volkswagen transporter panel van. In my opinion it's the best van that money can buy.
All i thought about with the awning was, hello cordless drill!! Love all the window shades
Deze uitvoering kost ongeveer 80.000; ik heb hetzelfde, en mooier laten inbouwen voor ongeveer 16.000 in een bestaande kale bus, zo duurals je wilt. Inclusief hefdak; bed, draaibare stoelen, keuken, stromend water, elektra, kasten, etc. etc.

Great Video!
Its silly that they don't have this vehicle in the US. I'm sure it would do well and even do well as a camping rental.
I live in Germany and love these. Saving for one.
That van is awesome sauce
With myself being interested in micro camping which is by converting either a Ford Econoline or a Chevy express I think that this VW California would be an amazing option especially to make campers or people who are interested in micro campers such as myself because that’s such a nice option to have a vehicle that’s already pre-specked out for some of these things like that sort of kitchen area that is one of the best things I like about that vehicle and wish I could buy this vehicle in United States

You forgot about the shower head hose in the rear cabinet on drivers side under the bottom panel,it plugs into a spot just below the cabinet.
There seems to be a lot of neat vehicles available overseas that the manufacturers do not bring here. It's a shame.
This is awesome! VW bring it to the State's please!
A Eurovan with 4motion, where can I sign up🤩
Always kind of liked VW vans. Even the old rear engine jobs. There's just something very cool and sharp about them. And a camper van for about $50K is about the right price level too. And the T6 is way cool. And the fact that it has left wheel drive says it would easily be adapted for U.S. highways.
Yes!! I love the shifter on the dash!
A stove in a van, I'm impressed.
VW really needs to get their act together and bring a camper van variant to North America!
i hope they bring it to the US. I've been wanting one for over 30 years!
Coolest van ever!!!
An AWD camper that looks like it seats and sleeps 4 people - what's not to like. I would like to look at the options on the lesser models without the kitchen and fridge before deciding which one to buy. But if VW brought this to North America, I'd definitely be interested.

Damn cool van, but y r they not bringing it here?
Volkswagen, are you listening?
Please bring this to the US! PLEASE
Why are all the cool rv’s only available in Europe and Australia?
Wait. How do you get on the roof bed? Is there a ladder or do you just climb from the front seats
VW is way too late to market with this. That's why Westfalia vans that are 20-30 years old still go for $30k in the US.
New Car Spin Why? They haven't stoped making these since the 60s
These puppies look A-grade Bad Ass. Curious about the tow capcity on the state-side version
Cool van!!
I really want one of these.
The camping part of this is very similar to my 84 Westy.
This van .. and road trip to Norway 🇳🇴 ❤️
Come on Volkswagen bring this van to the US this would be so awesome and good amount living in vans so why not
I owned more VW's than any other Cars I have owned. I had three Pop Tops and enjoyed every single one I had and it's to bad i didn't keep my last Westfalia I so sorry now I didn't. That’s it! Import it, I am getting one in white, I am trading my 2017 Tacoma 4x4 TRD for it. I want it by next year or sooner
Looks like $900 for 84 months on a $70K Volkswagen California Ocean if imported to the US. I am starting to see 84 month car notes
Just like when 48 month payments 40 years ago
We need this.
I think it will be good to have it in the USA

I would totally buy one of these. Please sell these in Canada Volkswagen.
BRING IT TO THE USA!!
Since it has a sink, what are the details on the water situation, capacity, hot / cold? Any propane on board? Thanks.
8 gallon water tank with a similar sized grey water storage tank. 6 lb butane or propane cylinder.
I love this car
Dick move on VW’s part! Look at this thing, I’d absolutely love to get one of these! Perfect for adventures all over the place.
This would sell crazy....
I currently owe a class B RV but I would trade it in a NY minute for the convenience of have a vehicle that I can use for daily commute and camping.
Another beautiful vw we wont see
So freaking disappointed that this box of awesomeness is not being sold in America where we actually have a almost infinate amount of space compared to any european country for camping. What a shame. I would buy this in a heartbeat.
Coild you import it to the U.S?
Pretty cool!!!
Yall missed the shower hose hook up in the rear...
Nissan recon camper is cool too
This is my dream vehicle bro. Bring this shit overseas!
This is PERFECT for light rving, this is what they should have brought instead of the dodge with a VW badge onit van
VOLKSWAGEN!!!!!!!!IF YOU WANT TO BRING NEW MODELS HERE BRING THIS,...& THE POLO AS AN ENTRY BUDGET CAR!!!!!

See Ted Weirums films with VW California T6. Next week 20180610 we go to the northest part of Sweden.
Is the extender version real or is that just a concept?
If it was just powerful enough to actually haul a travel trailer. The van would be a great in between sites. The van as itself would work for a weekend get away
Send us the ID Buzz and make a base model that is affordable!
"Bull in ah China closet" comes to mind!
I love it
Where did u record this?
can u drive the van while the roof ( bed ) is open
The TFL guys forgot to show the built in shower set up.
That thing is sweet, it’d probably sell well here in the US. It’d make a great rental service to boot, better than those stupid green Chrysler minivans with rooftop tents I see all over the place down her in southern CA.
Cool
I am not a minivan kinda guy, but I would buy this pending the price.
Add synchro then best RV in the market.
VW Canuck Camper w/ EH pkg
Just throwing that out there to the VW Reps reading this ;)
VW why is it not available? This is the only small camper I found with 2 seats in the back for kid's. Please please make it available in America.
It's a shame it isn't available here. Unfortunately I feel those of us who would like one of these are just a small minority of all the people who would buy campers. A mountain bikers dream
I want one!
Awesome
I like it.
Build it!!
Needs a four inch lift and 33 inch tires; take my money!
luv it

Johnny Chan Toyota have a van it's called the Sienna here in the United States. And it's very good and you can have it with or without AWD
Godless Toyota I know. The only downside with Sienna is the handling, it drive like a boat.
Johnny Chan even the SE trim?
Godless Toyota I have driven Sienta, Noah, Estima, and Alphard/Vellfire and test drive a Sienna but don’t remember which term it was. I have to say, Sienna is very close to Estima but the size of the Alphard. Though Alphard still much easier to handle than Sienna.
Godless Toyota Sienna is more like driving a commercial van.
I hope they bring the California over for the camper van instead of an ID Buzz.... I'd rather have a gas or diesel model.
This thing is awesome! Pleas bring to the US so I don't have to customize a Sprinter.
Please bring it here to the USA VW!
You missed the outdoor shower
You could import it
That adds up to $64,908 Dollars. Some people will think this is a good deal. I on the other hand think the sink is to small to pay this much.
if its 4wheel Ill buy one right now
4 wheel drive is an option in Europe with rear axle lock etc. Enthusiast fit uprated air suspension and raise the ride height.
where to store a spare wheel ?
Under the rear of the van
I want...
It’s great, but price 😬
CarByMil I would buy one in a heartbeat!
I want one soo bad
There's only one problem about the VW California (any model, any engine, any age): these vans are extremely expensive.
I wonder why they wouldn't sell the California in the this country or just Fiat it?
