Being an owner of adventure 250 I can say that it's a ,"PAISA WASUL" package. perfect combination of power, breaking, suspension,heat manegement and vibration minimisation.

Both the KTM adventure 250 and RE Himalayan are capable ADV bikes. Both these bikes are very good in their forms. In terms of looks The KTM 250 ADV looks modern, the 390adventure inspired design looks very attractive, still it Misses out of some elements like LED headlamps, Bluetooth connectivity compared to its big brother. Where the ktm Shine's is in it's engine performance and handling. The 250cc engine is smooth refined, its reve happy and its very good at higher speeds . Its not completely off road bike still it can go through rough roads pretty good although the suspension could have been little softer, the seat height could have been lowered.
While Himalayan its different bike to KTM. The design purpose built. Its looks proper off road ADV, it gets long travel suspension, 21 &17 inches spoke wheels and highest 220mm ground Clearance. This makes the Himalayan proper off -road adventure bike . yes the engine performance is not that great compared to KTM but where the Himalayan strikes though is its ability to go through bad roads very easy. The engine has low end that aids while off roading. Even for the highway touring the Himalayan is a reasonably comfortable bike for the rider as well as the pillion. Choosing one of these capable machines is little difficult. It depends up on the requirement.

It's interesting comparison in good sense! But One who is majority of times does offloading. Probably Himalayan for them.And if one ejoys exploring places and spend much of time in Highways and B roads then KTM triumphs the Himalayan here. Difference on pricing too. But there are other parameters to be looked at and which makes KTM 250Adv slightly better. May be 55:45 ratio. Suggest to take test ride both motorcycle back to back and then take decision.
The choice is very clear, jitna shakkar daloge utna meetha.
If you have money buy KTM nahi to Himalayan.

I read their reviews on Google and if I talk about this dealer, it has 2.9 ratings from 198 Google reviews. I read most of the buyers are not happy with the buying experience, especially post-sales. I also believe that they tamper with the odometers of the bikes.
Most of us watch your videos and get to know about these dealers so it's your responsibility to either give all the viewers, a disclaimer or something else which helps people understand, how to not get into dealers' traps.

It comes down to if you tour on proper highways more (buy KTM), or if you go to the Himalayas, other not great roads and proper off-road (buy Himalayan).
Me too I booked himalayan in March 22 till nw I didn't get my bike delivery.. So yesterday I decide to cancelled booking and took test ride of adv 250 and Duke 250.both engine is same bt... After riding adv 250 it feels like I am sitting in 1000cc adventure bike😍and give nice feeling .onroad price of himalayan is 2.59 and adv 250 onroad is 2.62.tomrw I'll be decinding whether I will go for adv 250 or Duke 250.*jst my xperience here.
Also himalayan bs6 2021 stalling issue is there most people are facing stalling problem in traffic or anywhere. .. It is better to buy second hand 2020 bs6 himalayan or go for bs4 himalayan
Both himalayan and KTM look good, it's you which one you gonna buy.
Himalayan: 1:short riders
2: budget friendly
3: off road
4: high rpm at low speed
5: looks more aggressive
KTM: 1: A bit expensive as compared to himalayan.
2: 6 speed gears.
3: it's actually much more aggressive on the road.
4: more refined engine.
5: An attractive design.
Power to weight ratio was most important which you mentioned.
Himalayan don't have liquid cooling, slipper clutch, service intervals is shorter than ktm. 250 advs service interval is 7.5K once. When I test drove Himalayan it is not even close to the word refinement, people who say refinement of Himalayan is good may be biased or not ridden any other bike let's not talk about Yamaha or honda level refinement, it was not even like Bajajs level. Gear box was sluggish too. I was impressed by the looks of Himalayan and was waiting for BS6 bike to be better in terms of refinement and reliability.

Riding stance is same in both, we can see clearly when you sit and show the stance, but ur saying ktm is more comfortable, how?? This review is biased towards KTM

Foot peg position makes KTM more comfortable.
In Himalayan it is set backwards. It puts a slight pressure on the knees.
A true RE lover can't accept praise for other bikes even it’s BMW.
Thanks for detailed explanation..I think Himalayan is designed to give more off road performance and Adventure 250 for more on road performance. So its depend on the purpose for which one is going to buy bike.

Biased to dikh rha hai KTM ke side well you are human you will definetly use your emotions it is evident your personal fav. Is ktm adv 250 which says alot about ktm 👍 keep up the good work.
These bikes are leagues apart. KTMs are far more sophisticated. Truly genuine review. Unlike the others where reviewers shy away from criticising the RE. The one thing that definitely goes in favor of RE are spoked wheels.

i like the design of Himalayan very much but the features in ktm adv is better, confused me which one to buy
If you want repairs every week then buy Himalayan. If u want a modern bike buy ktm . Don't think Himalayan parts are cheap.. But keep in mind that ktm adventure is not a daily bike.. it's 85% road use with mild off road capability. Himalayan off road is good but can't trust when the Tappets and clutch may fail. Ktm service is cheap till 25000km use, later parts and services cost depend on how u have used the bike .
x pulse is a very decent bike with trouble free rides. May be slight under power but u can tune it !!

They never care to hear the customer and upgrade.. frame rust,steering cones issues, coil fails, worst headlights ( looks its from a Tonga Era) Rear view mirror is so cheap quality feels it came straight from a reconditioned crome unit.. God the unnecessary weight of 20kg , No Abs, No 6 speed gear box , Now what I do only with some decent suspension.. Re never upgrades!!

I guess this is the reason why Mahindra Mojo (which for some strange reason automobile media mags / bike reviewers have always ignored) is "THE BEST ADV-TOURER" you can buy in India. Just think about these points about Mojo > Far superior built quality (Less plastic & also it wont rust and evaporate into thin air)

> 21 litre fuel tank
> Wide & raised handle bar, easy to saddle over muddy trails/off-road

For once, Gearfliq, I feel its not a fair comparison at all.. esp the conclusion, as if, the tightness of budget for 'something better' is indeed the differentiator, and the only one, as made out in the conclusion..
Sorry... The differentiator is so much more in the offroad performance... And in summary, the Himalayan even betters the KTM 390 adv offroad, what to spk of 250..!!
But yes, on pure onroad, KTM 250 betters the Himalayan...
So, the choice for a prospective buyer is not just abt budget, but also his reqmt...
If its moderate highway cruise with superior offroad perf, its indeed the Himalayan.. (my line won't change, even if both were priced same)... And if the buyer's reqmt is superior on road and moderate offroad, then its the KTM...

Himalayan need to launch something with tubeless tyres ,As a new variant of himalayan with little higher power & features for 3lkah price , Thn definitely this can beat any bike in that segment. Everyone loves himalayan but 250 is good one for that price.
According to zigwheels Himalayan is more comfortable and refined than KTM and also Himalayan delivers more mileage, tank range and better off road capabilities than the ktm and at last both bikes delivers same level of performance in 0-60 and 0-100 both are almost same.
And the suspension of ktm are more stiff, it's an adv than suspension should pe softer.
It's better to buy Himalayan or stretch your budget to bmw g310gs or ktm 390. Which delivers you more in the long run.

*KTM ka torque high RPM par dekhne ko milta hai, mujhe samajh nahi aa raha offloading koun karta hai high RPM par? bas yehi (ek bada problem hai) KTM me, iske alawa sab kuch better hai KTM ka. Chuki KTM me (ek bada problem hai) isiliye overall Himalayan better option hai offloading ke liye.*
himalayan is better because it gives three mudguards instead of two that the ktm gives. Maybe ktm has done cost-cutting by cutting one mudguard and also a few kilos or iron&steel

Both Are Good. I Own A Himalayan Too. Best All Rounder Bike. If You Want A Bike That Can Do Anything Without Any Hesitation Then Just Close You Eyes And Go For Himalayan. Don't Give Too Much Attention To Cons. Every Bike Has Its Own Cons. Just Get It.

I like the comparison but whats purplexing is zigwheels guys say ktm 250 is less refined compared to Himalayan but here comparison is opposite. Also same with suspension, they say it's too stiff for touring.
I wonder who got it right. Refinement and comfort are relative but drawing almost opposite conclusion is puzzling though.

I think the host is a little too biased. Himalayan vibrates at 80kph? No way. Also, the 250Adv has received very poor reviews throughout the media. Lack of power and high vibration issues at 6000rpm.
With 250cc engine, it sounds like regular bike's engine to many people,but it's deep true that a sports bike manufacturer if produces small cc engine bike that can have much higher power and torque than other same cc engine bikes. So ,it's justified to be high price of such bikes. Himalayan is not a sports category of bike so that it lacks many useful features, actually offered by KTM.

I did 740 km in a single day on the KTM 390 Adventure which has the same seat. Got a sore butt ( which I would have got on any bike for this distance) but the suspension is superb.
@@anirudhganu6773 Hello Sir, All bikes have positive and negative aspects, but since it is an adventure or touring bike, its suspension should be suitable for bad roads, but this suspension can not do it very efficiently and I say this from my experience. I think this machine is good for tarmac 👍🏻 Baki toh Sirji 'teji goli main nehi chalane wale main Hoti hey'.

Someone should increase the power in that Himalayan. 411 cc and only 24hp. I mean, was expecting like 40 Nm and atleast 35hp. I know air cooled are not that great in efficiency but still

Just take a test ride of both for telling real difference; ktm has weak low end but its not so bad but its suspension setup is crap , so hard and crappiest thing is its rock hard seat , Himalayan is leaps and bounds ahead in comfort . Also there are no vibrations on 80 , vibrations do creep only after 100 kmph.

Go for DOM if it's only for touring.. Himalayan is an all-rounder... cb350 is a commuter kind... Better avoid bullet 350 coz u can see anywhere anytime.. Adv is also good but bit costly.. and Duke 390 is a shit for touring...
