      If not given simply assume any ISHB section by referring steel tables book or IS 800:2007 code

    As per code bearing strength of concrete = 0.6 fck (IS 800:2007) PAGE 46 CLAUSE 7.4.1

      That is the maximum value but to design it optimum we take 0.45 fck and it is also wtiteen on in general clause 7.4.1 read it

      If u see the diagram there are two flanges and one web so total 6 points I.e four corners of flanges and two corners of web total 6. But We are seeing only one side so, next side another 6 points are there total 12 end returns

      I deducted web thickness 7.6 because to know the total length of the weld and both sides web portion included into the flanges. That’s y I deducted

      After deducting that web and flange thickness only we will get the total length of the weld

    Can u tell me how u provided 360x310

      After calculating the Required area of the base plate I got 111111 mm-Square. So I provided 360x310 area I.e 111660 mm-square which is nearer to required area so that’s why I choose 360x310 plate. In civil engineering all design aspects will starts from assumptions only. Think practical all the best.

      By the area we have a formula to calculate the length and breadth of the plate i'e A=(D+2a)x(bf+2a)
      111111.11=(300+2a)x(250+2a)
      Calculate that above eqn
      We got a= 29.63 i took 30 mm
      Then L=(D+2a),B=(bf+2a)
      L= (300+2x30)=360
      B=(250+2x30)=310
