      Casual is fine style of video. I really like it when you demo different applications of the gear and be really detailed. If I'm gonna drop $675 on a bench, I wanna know everything. BTW are you able to Review any ATX/Barbarian Line gear? At least here in Aus they seem to have the best balance of Moderate price but over deliver on features.

      Adjustable benches in general are just way overpriced, IMO. I’ve never liked using an adjustable bench for actual bench press so it does truly become a luxury where I would always want my fixed flat bench...and an adjustable.

    Update6 months and I'm still loving this bench. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxo_64lVTGMk7y4aXTPxPOcQ3YTLyQ6kYV I use it almost daily. I've gotten used to the small wobble and it's no problem at all. Love the storage, it folds right next to my weight set in the garage and hardly takes any space. I wish the covering material was a little bit tougher. I have a feeling that in a couple years it'll tear, but the bench is very well priced that I would just buy a new one.3 month usage review. Awesome bench for someone looking for compactness and storage. I did have to drill a couple holes to adjust my preferred seating position and leg bar position but that's only due to my personal preference. It's very sturdy for normal workouts, but for anyone going above 100# dumbbell press it wobbles ever so slightly. I would probably go with a fixed bench if that's the case. That being said i can accomplish 99% of my normal gym workout with this setup. Very happy with the purchase.

    Hi Coop: Have you ever heard of, or worked out on fitness equipment made by Larry Sullivan of Excalibur Fitness? Larry Sullivan is the only person in the United States, or the World, that makes 304 High Polish Stainless Steel Fitness Equipment. His fitness equipment does not peel, chip, or rust. 304 does scratch, but you can re-polish the stainless steel to a mirror finish, and remove the scratches. Larry Sullivan also makes custom made fitness equipment to your specifications. He also fabricates stainless steel gates, and balconies. Larry Sullivan worked as a foreman, for Icarian Equipment during their early years.

    I have a Prime Fitness adjustable bench, which is a pretty good bench - though it is narrow, a bit soft and the upholstery tears easily. Nonetheless, I went ahead and bought the elbow pads (~$250 shipped) and, more recently, the decline attachment (~$175 shipped). The elbow attachments fit poorly. On one side of the bench they are flush and on the other, there is a gap between the pad and the bench. There is a ton of slop where the pads attach to the bench on both sides, which results in a lot of movement both front-to-back and side-to-side. Despite the poor fit, however, the elbow pads do work as expected. The decline attachment does not. Not only does it fit poorly and with a ton of slop just like the elbow pads, but the lack of an angle on the foot roller means that your feet have to fit just right at the foot roller or you slide right down the bench. Both myself at 6' and my wife at 5'6" have legs that are too long to fit the attachment. We both slide right down until our feet catch the foot roller, which puts the behind-the-knee roller uncomfortably behind the calves. This makes the decline attachment completely useless for all but the shortest users. I contacted Prime about the issue, but got nowhere. They simply said I could send it back at my own expense, which would leave me $50 out-of-pocket for absolutely nothing. Prime should pull these from the market and redesign them or make a notation on their page that the decline attachment is only suitable for those with a very short tibia. Moreover, they should refund in full everyone that purchased these without being told they won't fit most users.

    • @AJGorby-mw6ci
      @AJGorby-mw6ci Год назад +1

      So glad I read your comment because everything you comment on, I was wondering about. This COULD be a really good bench but I feel like it's all fluff. I have some of Prime's attachments and I love their machinery but this bench just seems like a missed opportunity. I hope they read feedback from users and make a better version of this in the future, or a company like Rep makes their own version of this. I love the Prime leg roller has the handle (Rep's doesn't). I love the elbow attachments but like you said - I wondered how secure they fit.

    • @xtrastrengthfukitol7733
      @xtrastrengthfukitol7733 Год назад +1

      @@AJGorby-mw6ci for flat and incline, I still like it (although a 12" option with genuinely commercial upholstery [like we see on Cybex, Star Trac, Body Masters, etc.] would be nice). As above though, the big misses are the poorly executed attachments. This is kind of major considering the decline attachment is one of the main reasons anyone would consider this bench. After all, if you're only getting flat/incline, there are a lot more great benches to choose from.

      @cacapoopoo2327 4 года назад +1

      redrider132001 no complaints with it. I’d forgo the arm pad option, and maybe even the foot attachment. The pads are low enough to engage too much hip flexor when doing sit-ups. My one knock is that compared to the Legend Fitness bench I have on the way, the pad looks a bit thin. I think the three way bench from Legend is a bit cheaper and you can customize the colors at no extra cost. I went with their darkest gray for the frame, Candy Apple red padding.

      @@Pler1978 I thought hard about the rml 490c. And seeing it in person it's a nice rack but the monster series just has a really cool look. And being $200 cheaper for the Fortis rack didn't hurt. I should have my bench mid week so then I am set. Went with the Rep fitness fb5000 and a fat pad. I need to grab the spotter arms for things like pin pressing. The pin safeties will be replaced by the safety straps but for the time it works. Next up a good set of steel plates, good set of bumpers for Oly work (which I enjoy a lot), and a few different bars. All in time. But first a new platform. I have an 8x8 one that this thing basically filled. So I plan on making another 8x8 but in 4x8 pieces. Easy to store and I can move it into my driveway since cleans and snatches in the garage are a bit sketch.

    Here we go ! I bought on based on coop vid. Few things...1) Pad not only soft but THIN - often feels like I'm right on the wood support structure 2) TOO Narrow 10.5 in vs 12 in Coop should have addressed - I'm not tall either but that 10.5 in just doesn't feel as secure/supportive, especially on decline press (Spoke to Prime about this and the noted looking into a wider option, but c'mon why 10.5 in make NO sense to me. because every other bench...Rep Rogue Titan etc. bla bla bla ) and 3) Of course price high... uugh Look, I love made in USA but this bench is just ok but it absolutely is NOT the "best adjustable bench" ...and I think Coop knows that---- I like that it is a bit lighter and nice design otherwise, but rubber hits the road when back hits the bench pad - and this one is NOT the best. Strange it would have taken so little added effort for wider thicker pad and it would be a really good bench. Hard to understand what is going on in these designer's minds with nice product sabotaged with thin narrow pad.. Prime - you can do better....!

    • @AJGorby-mw6ci
      @AJGorby-mw6ci Год назад

      So glad you mentioned all this because I was thinking the exact same thing on all points. I actually ordered this but then cancelled because I just don't think it's worth the pricepoint when there's so many other better available options. I just got a rep PR-4000 rack and narrowed my options down to the Prime bench and the Rep AB-5000 Zero Gap. I'm heavily leaning toward the AB-5000 for the quality, price, and value. The padding on Prime's is just too thin - I don't think it would be good for longevity. Why is it so damn narrow??? I love the innovative elbow pads but even those are $250??? The foot plate seems like it would be too shaky especially when doing decline anything with the leg rollers. I think I'm going Rep. I just sold all my Titan stuff and converted to Rep - they're not 100% USA but they're doing some high quality, innovative stuff for a good price.

    I've been binging your channel from the start. This review was amazing! I really like that rack, though not sure if the pull up bar is tall enough for me. The bench looks really tall so would probably fit someone like me who is 6'4.

    Hey Coop! Those side pads could be attached and you could basically do like a Floor press (bench press) from the bench instead of on the ground. Put the pads where your elbows would come down too

    Hey Coop, Iove the product buying guide but wondering if you can provide info to help us be better informed consumers. Not just which bench or barbell is best for the price but what makes a bench a quality bench vs garbage. What features and specs make a barbell better than another, etc? Thanks for all the content!

    I think for anyone that's on a budget what's gonna cost more is not the bench but the weights, whether you go dumbells or barbell, right now it costs an estimated $2 / lb .. so if your looking to get a 60lb dumbell your looking at $120, for a pair your looking at $240. You can find used ones on kijiji but with the pandemic many people are hanging onto their home gym equipment because gyms are closed or have covid rules (wearing a mask, have to book your work out time, etc ).

    Thanks for the great review. Around 9:15 I thought you were alluding to doing barbell bench work with the lock in function, but there was no footage of it unless I missed it. Is it safe to say that the bench goes far enough back while still being locked in for heavy incline, flat, or decline barbell bench using J cups? Also, I love the shirt! Thank you again.

    So what makes you prefer this one over the zero gap FID from Rep for $175 less? Based on your reviews of both I'd probably go with that over the Prime one simply because I don't think the small weight disparity and those gimmicky arm pads would make up for the price difference--- especially if the padding is too soft.

    • @GarageGymReviews
      @GarageGymReviews  5 лет назад

      For the value, the REP AB-5000 is better. No question. Review coming on that. However, I like the lightness of the Prime along with some of the features like bench docking, wings, and the overall quality is better. That said, for the majority of people, we'd recommend Reps. That's an incredible bench.

    Hey Coop, great product and another great review. Any gap issues? I'm just not a huge fan of a noticeable gap, particularly with dumbell presses. Also, can you easily do a dumbell decline press? I'm accustomed to the adjustable bench declining rather than the seat to do decline work. Lastly, I would appreciate your review of the Prime accessories like the 4N1 and the RO-T8 handles. Why? You're just a trustworthy guy. Thank you!

    Thinking about buying this since the rogue ab2/ab3 and even adjustable bench 2.0 havent been in stock a while and doesnt look like theyll be anytime soon. Also wouldnt mind a rep 5100/5000 but same deal who knows when theyll be in stock and theres a 30 day shipping delay through rep when they are.
    How has it held up? Ik you got a ton of benches and probably dont use it a ton just wondering if you have been using it/have it in your gym how it has held up/how people like it. Will mostly be using it for dumbbell work and the occasional incline bench press.

I'm wondering if there is another one that has a better balance of pros/cons for a different home gym user. Do you know of one that can do a short back support for overhead tricep lifts (with dumbbells), and with better padding than this one here? Thanks man.
