Note: @22:11 i talk about how SVOL is beating JEPI and JEPQ, but because of the screen sharing (fail) you will not see it. You can compare them yourself here: www.dividendchannel.com/drip-returns-calculator/ SVOL is currently outperforming: JEPI, JEPQ & SPYI
This was a great interview. It really cleared up several of my questions about SVOL and I learned a bit more about some of their other products. Impressive!
Fascinating interview! Usually, just download for later (to avoid ads) but the combination of unique strategies, and to hear the hands-on expertise, had me watching online and making notes. Thank you as always, and Happy New Year🥳
What I've loved about SVOL for the last year is the consistent income. It makes me trust simplify and as I get closer to retirement, I'll be looking more and more at their funds. Thanks for the great interview and info.
Thank you so much for this! This "soothed my fevered brow" concerning SVOL, it's now going to become a significant part of the income slice of my portfolio.
Great video! Very happy to see both Simplify managers want to add more info to make sure we all understand their products and the market. More info you have the better you can decide whether SVOL, fixed income or equities are right for you. Thanks Adriano, Larry and Shailesh!
A very important investing strategy that I don't hear anyone talking about applies to AGGH. As of 4/15 this stock is in the tank, having fallen from a high of over $24 a share at its inception just over a year ago to its current low of just $20.51. I see this drastic share price drop with many new stocks that come on the market, and I am inclined to wait another year or two for the share price to stabilize and also for the dividend yield to show a proven long term healthy return. The very same applies to TLTW and HYGW, both interesting high yield stocks in the same category as AGGH, also just over a year old each and also in the tank as of this date.
Absolutely genius Adriano!!! Loved your masterful flow allowing Shailesh to provide portfolio change updates in detail! Larry chimed in on total return ytd which is so critical.
Stumbled on SVOL 5 months ago and looking at its 30 cents a share monthly div, stable market post lock downs , 16% annual income , management investment experience which is key to this ETF it is the cornerstone of my retirement income strategy. I can’t understand what the apprehension is. Pays the last day of the month like clock work.
Im a volitility trader and svol I believe can lose a substantial amount if VIX spikes to 30+, which it does. You will take drawdowns with this and it may not yield what you expect.
Bonjour de la Ville de Québec ! I am intent on getting my portfolio on a more defensive footing for the storm brewing for 2024, and I'm considering buying MPAY or HBND to do just that. Didnt made up my mind just yet. But but but... AGGH caught my eye thanks to this video ;) I like the fact that it's spread over different durations, the only thing that bothers me a bit is that its a US ETF. Truth being told, I also consider BK.PR.A as a good safety parking as well... aaagh too much good possibilities lol
Good Morning Adrian!!!! Happy New Year from Fort Myers and MANY thanks to Shailesh for all his hard work on our behalf. Genius that you have brought up MAXI at this time which is strong and producing super dividends (will pick more up). Minor question can you see what is going on with the 2024 distribution calendar? Like you, SVOL is a major position for me and want to schedule out 2024. Best regards, Steve.
@@PassiveIncomeInvesting Sorry Adriano ... still too much New Year hangover. Meant that SVOL has not published the 2024 Dist Calendar yet which is critical to us gray hairs (like me lol). Very very happy with how it is holding up this morning with a 6.67% increase in the vix! Best regards, Steve.
@@PassiveIncomeInvesting Good Morning Adrian!!!! SVOL published the 2024 Dist Calendar on Friday!!! Let the Shailesh party continue! Best regards, Steve.
Hi Adriano, when did this interview take place and could you include the dates for future interviews? I ask because the market conditions are important (for ex. with the best Nov in history just behind us pricing in expected rate decrease, I would've thought fixed income returns would be depressed). Thank you for considering my request!
With only 12% short May VIX + 70K VIX 50 calls + net long Treasuries, SVOL is positioned to profit if VIX goes above 50. In the best case scenario, we sell all 70K calls for $30, giving us a profit of $210M, which is +28% and after the vol shock subsides, we are +28% + bond income. In the worst-case scenario, the long VIX calls expire worthless, and after the vol shock, we are even + bond income. And, if VIX goes to 80, the current short May VIX will have a temporary drawdown of around 15-20%, and this will be softened by the bonds and long VIX calls.
Hi Passive Income Investing. Could you do a video on AGGH and how it is a hedge against high volatility? Are you saying that if VIX spikes, AGGH actually increases in value? This would be perfect for me to park my free cash in because I trade volatility or short VIX as my main strategy. Thanks
That doesn't really apply to JEPI and JEPQ, as they don't sell covered calls in the market, they sell them through ELNs with other financial institutions.
Happy to get the update. I understand the changes better now. Didn’t like his Roc answer though « ´I don’t understand that stuff’ I leave it to the accounts » That being said I guess the Roc isn’t bad Roc since the Nav is not dropping significantly
First, hey Adrian, could you please unblock my Comment in the Inner Circle Plus comment section again? I edited the Comment a bit, and of course YT has now blocked it. Fair warning, I pose a lot of questions, but please only answer the ones you feel you have time for. I can't wait for Elon to make X into a viable YT competitor. Arbitrary YT censorship is total boohockey.
Second. Big Concern for Income Investors : Hypersaturation of the Covered Call Market. Larry Kim confirmed it in the video. It's real, and it does affect Premiums. As Larry put it, "the problem is that selling calls is such a popular strategy because of all the covered call funds there isn't a whole lot of premium available by selling S&P covered calls." Exactly. You and Jordan talked about the Tsunami of Income Funds that have been introduced into the Market over the past 2 or 3 years. All these Fund Managers with Hundreds of Millions of Assets to invest, all trying to write CC's to get Premium. It's going to result in a Gold Rush, and then a Gold Bust. You can only go to the Golden Goose so many times. But. And Larry points out a big But (Kim Kardashian sized), smart Managers look for the imbalances, or the opportunities. While everyone is rushing to write CC's on the S&P Index, SVOL writes CC's on Individual Equities where the VIX is higher. This is the power of having Smart Managers who aren't stuck in a Fixed Strategy (like Global X), but instead can look for opportunities, think outside the box, and play with Options (write Calls, write Puts, write long or short duration, write on Indexes, Stocks, Bonds). If you introduce enough variables, then you can find opportunities that the Group Think Managers are missing. Contrarian Style Investing in very safe and boring Underlying Holdings. I like it. You do have smart friends Adrian. ; ) P.S : Let's see if this Comment posts. It's always a roll of the dice with YT for me. I didn't mention Winnie the Pooh once, so I'm sure I'm fine. >_
@@PassiveIncomeInvesting You did Adrian. I edited it yesterday. It seems to have been blocked. Was at 10 comments. Now at 9 comments. Can you unblock it again? Don't worry about all the questions. Just the ones you think you have time for, or, you can answer them rapid fire style if you don't think they need a lot of elaboration. What can I say man, I'm a Free Thinker. I ask questions. It's great that you like questions too and aren't afraid to answer tough ones. Why we love your channel. Looking forward to the Q&A!
I had some HIGH and was disappointed by all the ROC and NAV decay after months of seesaw around $24.90 to $25.10 so this is actual erosive ROC. No longer interested in adding to this position at all.
They are returning your investment. But since they have some capital gains, they can afford to give your capital back. Mine is in a tax deferred account, so this doesn't work for me. I'm selling.
its unchanged, as discussed in the video, it was just accounting. People have dumped it because of that and because they see ROC now. Its just super silly. but wtv, more shares for the rest of us

Agree and it makes the most sense

so if you go half in HIGH and half in SVOL your totally diversified and protected?
I just started a SVOL position today in my RSP. To go with my SCHD and DGRO and SPYD.
you are a real dividend investor :)
Yes!
Would be great if you could do a review on AGGH!
maybe i will, but we discussed it in this one

The expense ration quadrupled, why? or am i misreading this on the svol site?
watch the Q&A for the answer
SVOL 👍💰💰💰

AGGH is just an ETF to give you "Fixed Income" exposure in a more smart way
I heard one of those guys say "Premiums are drying up for Covered Calls on Indexes". So, should we get out of funds like JEPI JEPQ and SPYI and such ?
That doesn't really apply to JEPI and JEPQ, as they don't sell covered calls in the market, they sell them through ELNs with other financial institutions.
Will MAXI drop by $4 after ex div date??
it did that today yes
When the Vix spikes, is 😮that trouble for SVOL? Thanks!
there's a protective call option to mitigate that to a certain extent , see my earlier SVOL videos

Its just accounting! the fund is giving out LESS than it EARNS. IT IS NOT "your own money back" . The definition of the term is very Misleading.
I LOVE ❤❤❤ SVOL!!! $$$ usd pay 😊😊😊

They are returning your investment. But since they have some capital gains, they can afford to give your capital back. Mine is in a tax deferred account, so this doesn't work for me. I'm selling.
they are not! you dont understand ROC. i give up ....
Dropped my SVOL after they almost doubled their ER 😮💨 Too many other options for that kind of ER.
Management fee unchanged at 0.5%. Expenses include borrowing costs which get offset by extra income from the cash investments.
its unchanged, as discussed in the video, it was just accounting. People have dumped it because of that and because they see ROC now. Its just super silly. but wtv, more shares for the rest of us
So instead of a 16.19% yield, it becomes 15.04% yield. I'll keep mine forever.
Svol is a great diversifier to all the other CC etfs
Gotta spend a little money to make money in American 🤷🏽♂️
Hard to follow, hard to hear.
