(15:21) I didn't want to make any technical comments but seeing the protected area near IC M92T36 I couldn't contain myself: even an Egyptian embalmer from the time of the pharaohs would envy your work! On the other hand, people who are like you we refer to them as: it is a "tipazo" (said of the person who has charisma, a calm character and sincerity that shows in his voice). It applies to you. Thank you so much for sharing. A cordial greeting from Mexico.
I admire your patience and skills. Nice job! You definitely made the owner happy. This was a great vid to watch. Good luck with the others. I hope you get paid very well. Have a good one!
Just a tip, when removing an IC with many pins, If you are replacing it, cuttng the pins of the mounted IC (maybe with a scalpol), makes the job easier when desoldering.
After you replaced the IC chip what was the resistance on the capacitor? I'm talking about the one that was beeping your meter. Sorry about the late comment.
Great video quality and content, keep up the great work. Got my sub :). Im also glad I ran across your channel because I am new to electrical repair (fixed a few PS4 controllers, few iPhone screen repairs and modded a few PS5 controllers with extra buttons) and being a new guy, I have lots of questions but the big channels never answer due to the volume of comments they have lol. Hoping I can pick your brain for a bit before your channel grows to those numbers :)
Thank you. I have learned a lot from watching others on RUclips. This is mostly a hobby for me but I do enjoy it. I need to find time to make more videos.
Thanks for the video. Stumbled here because my switch is now broken. Won't charge or boot. But I don't have the eyes or steady hands to try any of this. Thank-you though a great well out together video.
Hey I'm having issue with my switch console not turning on, I can hear a buzzing noise coming from on the motherboard. the charging indicator does not show up on screen, when pressing the power button and waiting a few seconds then taping on the screen does nothing. I have two videos on my channel of the issue occurring. what do you think it could be? Thanks!
Hi, is it possible to transfer my flash memory to another switch? (my switch is dead, fried CPU apparently ) Or is there anyway to get my save back from my dead switch except the cloud ?
Mine "turns on" or tries to but the battery is depleted and it wont charge. turns on shows the nintendo logo and then show the low battery icon, goes back off. It was working docked and suddenly stopped charging. I cant see any damage.
sorry but if the fuse doesn't beeb does that mean I have to replace it? I think I did something stupid by testing probes on the usb c port and battery and charger connected.
A good fuse will cause your meter to beep if your meter is in continuity mode. You could also use the resistance mode of your meter. The fuse should have a very low resistance, less than 1 ohm.
I watch a lot of repair videos, clearly, and notice no one is ever wearing any ESD bracelets or anything like that. I know how serious ESD can be but I cant figure this out. Do you wear a bracelet or is your entire bench grounded? Also, where do you get your parts? I thought finding parts would be the easiest thing in doing repairs but I was so wrong as eBay is filled with fakes being passed off as genuine so it's a hit or miss and more of a miss at least for me.
I never wear an ESD strap. I can't say I have ever had a problem with ESD. My work area is not carpeted and my region seems to have plenty of humidity which keeps static charges down. Some parts come from Mouser, Digi-Key, AliExpress and sometimes eBay. Some PS4 parts are simply only available from China.
@@ToltecMerc thanks much for the reply. Yep I shop there too. When I got into controller repair thinking the PS4 has been out for a decade that online shopping for parts would be the easiest part of it but I was surprisingly wrong. I did manage to find a group of sites that offer a bit here and there but collectively they offer a good part choice but I still ask as you never know who’s sitting on a little small site with gold lol. Yes defiantly find more time for vids. With your setup I would thinking this is a profession lol but profession or hobby working with good tools is always a plus. I’m just getting into electronics and loving it all.
@@ToltecMerc yes it stopped charging , when i put a new battery in, it turns on and i get that error, i tried replacing charge port with same error, so i assume its the IC Chip?
@@joeysupra311 I would check for shorts across the capacitors around that IC. There could also be a problem with the IC near the bottom edge of the board near the large SMD coil.
Try pressing the volume up and down buttons at the same time as well. This sometimes works. There are several RUclips videos addressing this issue. Some are done by 12 year old kids and are surprisingly well done.

You might be able to give back to Nintendo if your warenty is still good
@@mustytree1016 thanks, but it was fixed by changing all three IC units! I cannot give back to Nintendo as mine is unpatched hahaha

Where did you buy the 0201 parts? I can't find them at an affordable price
www.mouser.com
@@ToltecMerc you have to be a repair shop to order from them
@@pathfinderproject9381 No. Anyone can order. Shipping will be $8 minimum.
Could I pay you for this kind of repair ?? Any contact info ?? Im having the same issue
Hopefully you're using aluminum tape now instead of kapton tape
Why?
@@MassStash kapton tape doesn't stick very well. Flux and heat makes it move. Aluminum tape doesn't do that.
How did you manually charge the switch battery?
I sometimes use a variable bench supply to apply a charging current. You have to be careful to not charge too fast.
what is the part number for the power managment ic plz and is it available from mouser ? thnx in advance
M92T36. Not available from Mouser. Try eBay.
I am also getting that error message, does that mean the charging IC Chip is bad? thanks!

Hello would it cost me to have you help fix or help me know what’s the problem with my switch
You are the problem of your switch.
@@bezbeli cause the screen doesn’t turn on
Great video👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
What heat did you set your hot air to? I can't seem to get my chip off of the board
Probably 450C. You have to watch the air flow because of all the tiny caps and resistors nearby. Use plenty of flux.
ToltecMerc Thanks will try that. I thought 370 would have been plenty
Where to buy that kind of damaged/ returened electronics?
@@ToltecMerc 450C is way to high. 400C is enough for this board. Just make sure that you preheat the board
How much
uphill task
