(There's Lucky, so I'm writing a dog POV.) Ever since you were a child, you have loved your dog, dearly. You'd do anything for your dog. Anything. But there was a downside. Your dog has turned to be more aggressive, than you thought. You always wondered what happened, wherever you've been. You've tried real hard to figure it out, until you noticed that it's been staying in the backyard, recently. Chasing chipmunks, cats, etc. Even other dogs, that are smaller. You never knew what happened to the animals, it was concerning, but you couldn't step outside, in the backyard, because of such the strong stench. All your dog had to ever do was lunge, and they were out. Your dog always walked back in, on Monday, calmer, and more silent. Sometimes your dog would creep up on you, because of how quiet. You missed the older memories with your dog, back before all of this happened. You want the memories back, but it seems to be too late. Eventually, you had to take the dog to the vet, and the vets always spoke that they didn't know what happened, no matter where you went, and what vet you spoke to. You just know your dog is a calm murderer. So instead of causing trouble, and making decisions that will likely guilt-trip you, you have chosen to keep your dog. You want to try and get it to be more friendly. As you drove back from the last vet in the city, with your hopes drained, you rolled the windows down. Your dog just stared, muscles popping out. You're just glad your dog got the exercise it needed, and it's healthier now. Eventually, as the both of you were at a red light, your dog spotted something in the trees, and started barking violently. You ignored it, and quickly rolled the windows up. Your dog immediately stopped when they were completely rolled up, and it could no longer spot the creature. Next, the two of you arrived home, and you let your dog back into the backyard. You cried a little, you miss your dog.
This is the anthem of the constant slipping of my sanity mask. The numbing of facial muscles and the sunken eye tunnel vision overpowers me. It feels as if there is an entity, a being, something that listens and cares, but really, it's all robotic, empty and evasive. A thousand yard stare as the day cycles into the night and back.
