2:26 I did too actually and I wanna explain why Also spoilers duh So, some people may know that DR1 and SDR2 have manga adaptations. Well screw DR1s manga not the topic rn. There is two English SDR2 manga adaptations, Goodbye Despair and Ultimate Luck and Hope and Despair. Now Goodbye Despair, as like the canon game, is told from Hajime's pov, however, Ultimate Luck and Hope and Despair is not, and it's actually told from Nagito's pov. The one from Nagito's pov came out first, and I bought it without knowing anything about SDR2. To note, I was new to the fandom and was only knew about DR1, and no other games. The manga from Nagito's pov also came out before Hajime's pov. Anyways I bought it, and read through the first edition. It ends after Nagito's breakdown in the first trial, and my initial thought was, "Did I miss something-? Is the protag batshit crazy and the blackened??" I did miss the part where he got pushed out from under the table at that point. But, until I realized oh shit it's a game too, I believed Nagito was the protag. Oh and also, forgive my rambling but in ULHD, it shows the Despair Disease from Nagito's pov, obviously, and it shows that people inflicted with it aren't mentally affected, as Nagito kept refuting himself in his mind. i heavily agree. imposter (in my opinion) is one of the best characters in the series. even if they aren’t “interesting”, their character is so creative, and their personality is amazing. some of the fandom just dumb them down to “haha, fat person eat” and it’s so stupid- imposter literally sacrificed his life for nagito because they said they’d protect everyone, and in the anime they’re so caring by taking care of ryota. i personally think they’re an amazing character that’s so underrated.

So, some people may know that DR1 and SDR2 have manga adaptations. Well screw DR1s manga not the topic rn. There is two English SDR2 manga adaptations, Goodbye Despair and Ultimate Luck and Hope and Despair. Now Goodbye Despair, as like the canon game, is told from Hajime's pov, however, Ultimate Luck and Hope and Despair is not, and it's actually told from Nagito's pov. The one from Nagito's pov came out first, and I bought it without knowing anything about SDR2. To note, I was new to the fandom and was only knew about DR1, and no other games. The manga from Nagito's pov also came out before Hajime's pov.
Anyways I bought it, and read through the first edition. It ends after Nagito's breakdown in the first trial, and my initial thought was, "Did I miss something-? Is the protag batshit crazy and the blackened??" I did miss the part where he got pushed out from under the table at that point.
But, until I realized oh shit it's a game too, I believed Nagito was the protag.
Oh and also, forgive my rambling but in ULHD, it shows the Despair Disease from Nagito's pov, obviously, and it shows that people inflicted with it aren't mentally affected, as Nagito kept refuting himself in his mind. Just a tidbit.
Oh also that famous line in his last FTE is changed to "I am deeply in love with you and the hope sleeping inside you." So like-- kOmAhiNa-?

Genocide Jill and Kyoko are my favorite Danganropa 1 characters. No I’m not a simp. Also for the longest time I thought Chihiro was Ultimate Gamer. Mainly because I heard about the Mario theme execution. Also I find Kokichi entertaining and my favorite Danganropa execution ever is Kaito’s. Also Mikan’s execution makes sense for her character, change my mind!
