    Hammerfist is a great technique. The way you are showing us how to use it in a street self defense situation is very helpful. It is so important to know how to defend ourselves . These videos and techniques help thank you !!!

    Always happy to see those kinds of videos. These two aspects of self-defense - when and how to start the fight - are usually the most neglected in most self-defense classes, and yet they can potentially give you a great advantage.

    A bouncer might be standing like that. Other people won’t be. They will have their arms down or maybe in a defensive position.

    Serious question.. what style of fighting would be best for a woman to learn self defense? For real life situations. So many people have different opinions

    • @backfix
      @backfix 6 лет назад +3

      I would say, a dirty style of fighting: scratch his eyes/face, pull his hair, kick his balls, headbump his noyes etc. As a woman you are naturally in a much weaker position (if you have a brother and ever fought with him you may know), so you have to use every advantage. I would assume you would learn that in a proper self defense course, but there are just so many bullshit self defense courses, that it would be difficult to find the right one. I would say Muay Thai boxing would be start, or directly MMA, if there is no good self-defense course around.

    I'm a 14 year old boxer and i've been boxing for 3 and a half year ,i never attack anyone first , but if someone attacks me i have to defend myself , online learning is shit , go to train box with a team or instructor (my bad English)

    • @robo78r1g88
      @robo78r1g88 6 лет назад

      Online learning it's OK. But what you see has to train in the gym!

    • @Don-sc1vz
      @Don-sc1vz 6 лет назад

      You are 100% correct. I'm 33 years old and have trained for 20 years. There is no comparison between real training at a good gym with hard sparring and watching this bs online. If you don't regularly roll and spar you suck. Period.

      You can Train this hamerfist on a heavy bag

    • @bozotheclown666
      @bozotheclown666 5 лет назад

      Don Cataldo you don’t have to go to a gym to learn to do this stuff. It’s better to go to the gym because an instructor can give better criticism and help you perfect it. You can just keep practicing on some type of bag or dummy and just keep studying his form.

    This is a pretty darn good little video! Apparently Bruce Lee has helped allot of people at this point. Without him in the history books, everyone would still be doing basic karate moves thinking they know how to "defend" themselves! Lol.... Thanks a lot for this!

    Anyone watching these videos who really wants to be able to defend themselves needs to go to a quality MMA gym and go through some real training for a solid year. Anyone "teaching" you how to fight with no sparring or fight videos up is a fraud. If you are "trained" and don't believe me, go to an MMA gym and get some work in with actual fighters. Most gyms are vert accommodating to people with little to no experience and most fighters at gyms are more than happy to help beginners learn the ropes. Good luck to everyone training to get better!

    • @jirkazalabak1514
      @jirkazalabak1514 6 лет назад

      I think this is supposed to be a useful tip rather than a technique. He says in many of his videos that training is very important and you definitely should learn stuff like MMA. His videos are usually more like "Here is some advice on how to sucker punch properly". He is covering the aspects of self-defense that are most neglected in training, and that are the most important on the street, awareness and cunning. If your first strike is good enough, or just catches the attacker off guard, even a trained fighter can go down easily.

    • @Don-sc1vz

      @@jirkazalabak1514 I hate to break it to you man, but this guy is garbage. I am just worried people will develop a false sense of security practicing this stuff and end up getting seriously injured in a fight.

    • @NickDrossos
      @NickDrossos  6 лет назад

      Really Don based on what? maybe you need to check out some more of my videos and see who i have trained and sparred with lol

    • @NickDrossos
      @NickDrossos  6 лет назад

      I have been sparring since my 20s and I am over my 40s and worked as doorman in clubs for years, and I can tell you from experience sparring is nothing comparing to being attacked in the street, but you must know!!

    • @NickDrossos
      @NickDrossos  6 лет назад

      Thanks Jirka most of these guys watch one video, and just make assumptions. MMA, BJJ and Boxing and some other Martial Arts can help, but being attacked in the street with a knife require some knowledge more than just how to grapple, or throw a good punch. And thats what i teach. I had a guy get attacked with a knife, and because he watched a video of mine on how to use a chair as a weapon it saved his life. But Im sure in an MMA school they will teach you! Don should know !
