Chin and Mojo are MVPs
🗿👍
Thanks Gary!
The repeat of the clips are getting old need to find some new ones
@@abcsd1254 They really are. We could all use a Mojo making those odd parts and giving us all that wisdom, and Chin being a good friend helping us out when we need it.
I'm a girl and I watch you and Duff every week! Makes Mondays a little bit better!
Same here 😁
Much appreciated Danielle!
@@MortskeRepairou know there are Tons of Creepers Just Watching for the Meat Show, you know the saying Sex Sells! As Disgusting as it is, that’s just the Way She goes
You're my kind of lady
@Kimberly Williams Thanks to you for showing me this channel and Puddin's channel. My Mondays are better and a lot more entertaining! 😊
I'm a girl and I never miss a video. Although, I'm not always sure what parts are what. But happy to say I've learned alot watching both you and Puddin. My rottweiler knows your voice and immediately starts looking for Duff dog. 😊
Awesome!
I never knew a step drill would not snag carpet. The more I watch the smarter I get! ....You,Mojo,and Duff keep up the good work.
Step drill on spot weld removal is quicker and cleaner also.
Looked like the Puddin Shuffle when those wheels fell!!! I really like the truck, one of my favorites!
Speakers will work hooked up backwards, but they will be reversed phase. If you have one correct and one backwards, it will effectively cancel out the sound waves and sound quieter, especially with mids and lows. Might make your tweeters sound muffled too. Good luck! Great content, appreciate the entertainment. Pat Duff on the head for me.
If you have 2 speakers and hook one up backwards it will kill your bass and sound output. Make sure it’s all hooked up right or it will sound so flat.
impedance between left and right channels should be the same or sound quality will suffer and future issues with the amp circuit will arise.
I watch every episode!Love old cars /trucks,and its cool watching you and Duff bring em back to life..
Much appreciated!
Auto glass tech here. In that wiper arm there is a hole. Shove that pop rivet in the hole and you don't even have to take the wipers off. They lift up enough to make it happen!
DANG! I'll have to check it out! Thanks!
Girl here! My hubby and I watch every episode. Its to the point were we even use some of your sayings in our every day lives. Thanks for sharing!! And thank you for watching!

Who doesn’t love square body content! I’m going to have to find myself one someday.
Great video Mortske. Keep them coming.

Awesome
I always look forward to Monday lol
Its going to be soooo nice when its finished...glad to see sun and clear skies there
So good to see you and Duff Dog together again, outside and running around.
Thanks Mortske. Love The Duff!
GM stereo wire colors: Yellow is switched 12v, black is ground, gray is dimmer. Constant is orange if it had it (but that year probably didn't), LF speaker is Tan +, gray -, RF is Lt green +, dark green -, LR is Brown +, Yellow -, RR is Dk Blue +, lt blue -. If it had a power antenna it would be pink. The switched, ground and dimmer are in a 4 pin black plug (if it's still there), Front speakers are in a white 4 pin plug, and the rears are in a blue 4 pin plug. If it had constant it would be in a separate 2 pin plug with the brown parking light + wire. Front speakers are 3.5" and rears are 4x10s. The speaker you put in the dash is a dual voice coli so you can hook up a right and left to it. If you get the polarity wrong on a DVC speaker, it will fight itself and also if you get the polarity wrong you will lose bass response. You can tell if you have them wrong if you have more bass on right or left and less in the center with normal speakers. The center speaker will probably eventually blow if you get one side wrong.
Good to know!
Woman here, faithful viewer. There are dozens of us. Dozens!
Btw
Just an fyi, for the center speaker in your dash, if you wire the speaker backwards, the magnet inside won't work right because it's meant to be unidirectional and you may end up damaging it or it'll just sound muffled and weak.
What you can do is create a center channel through something called a "bridge stereo".
Basically, positive of center speaker to the positive of the left channel, and negative of the center speaker to the negative of the right speaker!
It'll be essentially MONO but since it's centered in the dash, it's fine.
Happy wiring!
Good to know! Thanks for watching!
Another great watch and a bit of a pick me up after seeing what's happened to Brent's place. Thank you Sir.
glad your back hope weather is warmer.
Hey mortske a neat little hack if you plan on putting a cb in the truck is to use a 4X10 factory style speaker in the original center hole of the dash for the external speaker.
Brilliant!
I was thinking that same thing, wondering what he'd use it for, a center channel on the stereo is a possibility, but I've hooked up two-way (commercial) radios this way a few times back in the day.
Those gauges are awesome! Doesn’t take away from the original look at all!❤
That's the best part!
Derek from Vice Grip Garage did a build like this one too. His truck is a 70's model crewcab longbox, also white, and he did the LS swap with the 4L80 trans. Similar dash install and all. His truck is the single rear axle and he lowered the truck. Looks pretty nice, but your truck is in a bit better condition. Good looking truck.
Derek is originally from western ND and his wife is from Minot. They're living in Tennessee now but they still have some land by the homeplace. His brother is running the family farm.
Normally you put the seal on the glass add a rope to the inside track and pull the glass into the truck.
But as Tommy makes everything an adventure....PS don't be afraid to slap the glass in the direction you want it to move...Great show
That's how I do it. WORKS GREAT. 550 paracord works.
Great improvements to the new tow pig! It's looking nice! Thanks for sharing this with us! 😁👍
Thanks for watching!
Ole rope trick on those windshields works like a charm👌🏻
That speaker is designed for left and right inputs to give a stereo sound on vehicle’s that only have the center speaker option…. I would leave it out. you could possibly burn out the radio if it doesn’t like the ohm load. Or just sound like trash. Thanks for the great videos! Makes a good Monday!
Good to know!
I am a UK female watcher, I love your videos and watch both channels religiously!
Fantastic
I have the same driveway alert and when it goes off, my dogs go crazy. Guess what? They went crazy when yours went off. I just love how you say this truck isn’t for sale……………yet. Always leavin me hangin!!
Tow pig is comin right along. All the upgrades are great improvements. Love the project videos. Just seeing the progression on each one is real nice
Those chrome wind deflectors add a beautiful touch

Dish soap is the ticket for installing rubber seal glass.
Spray with water to re slippery it during install.
The ball end tool works really well too, you will like it.
Good to know
I have never seen glass installed that way. Looks like it worked. We always installed the seal to the glass. And installed the glass seal assembly with a pull rope that was in the lip channel and lubed up.
Enjoyed the picture show
Awesome video. I love seeing Duff right there with you working even though it doesn't have thumbs. Can hardly wait until you're done with that white truck it's gonna be amazing😊
Thank you for sharing!
Looking good coming along nicely
That Mojo......he's a gooood kid! So is Duff. Another great video
Great tip on the Christmas tree drill bit through carpet
If you reverse the + and - wires on a speaker it will still play, but it will pull in instead of pushing out (Reverse phase). If you’re ever unsure on the wiring slap on a 9v battery, if it pops out you’re good, if it pulls in you are backwards 👍🏼 but what do I know right?! Keep up the good work
Beat me to it, a reversed speaker will cancel out certain frequencies (determined by cab dimensions). The battery trick is a good one, usec it many times! Cheers!
Good to know!
It's really cool you're going to the extent you are on the dually. I'm also learning a lot as I make plans to Ls swap my 1980 Scottsdale.
Glad to hear it!
We watch your show regularly. So that’s three women at my house. My mom is 92 she likes your show.
Glad to hear it!
I use a soldering gun to open the bolt holes in the carpet. It keep the carpet from fraying and makes the holes easier to see.
Love the square bodies!!!!
❤Love to Duffers❤
Robertson is what the square screws are called up here in land of the gords, canukastan. Any phillips screw I've touched on any of my vehicles I've replaced with stainless robertson, they stay on the bit when you're putting them in and SO much easier to get out, especially things like door sill plates that get beat on
Thats the word!
Man you hear about Brent over at Halfass Kustoms he lost his shop while he was on vacation. The places burned and lost everything what a total bummer I would not wish that on anyone and it's one of my biggest fears of having that happen.
Excellent video Mortske!!
Among the felletes that watch every week, and look forward to each upload on both channels
Much appreciated!
Thank you for sharing your time
Hi from Joliet, Illinois really like you and Duffs show , enjoy the funny clips you add ..keep doing what you do , dont change...
Yes it works either way but it sounds better hooked up right.😊
My wife wanted me to let you know she watches most of your videos with me. And that’s what she said!! Lol We both enjoyed you and puddin together the last few vids y’all posted, great content bud..
👍🗿
I don't believe you!
@@MortskeRepair 😂😂
Yeah well she only watch’s to see Duff. Since he’s the only one that gets stuff done around there. Lol
Trick for speakers, on those old jobs without factory amps, pop the speakers with a 9 volt battery. It lets you ID the wires and see polarity so none will be out of phase. You watch the speaker react and if it pops outwards you note which wire is on the + side of the 9 volt and hook up the stereo to those in phase.
Thanks for the tip!
@@MortskeRepair you're welcome. I worked Circuit City Roadshop doing mobile electronics for 3 years part-time and still use many tips, tricks and procedures learned there.

Thanks for the tip about using a step bit for carpet. I just tried it. Works great! The difference between you and the "18 Dwains" is you shared that info with the rest of us. (Also you don't live rent free in Mommy's basement surviving on hot pockets to leave annoying RUclips comments:)
Hahahaha
You can hook duel voice coil speekers to both sides, hence duel voice coil..✌
I have an 89K5 Blazer Square Body….Window motors were always horrible, and replaced them with ones from LMC and NAPA….Recently had new motors and regulators from Nu~Relic installed and they are amazing!! Down and up in about 5 seconds…..Definitely worth the money and upgrade…..
Awesome!
Great video. I'm glad you posted keep them coming thanks
Love the truck. Had one back in the day but with a 454 that got 8 mpg I didn't have it long. Might get another to restore and LS swap it.
Good stuff Mortske Thank you for the video
You going to master glass installer pretty soon. Nice wiring and new gages. She going to be a nice truck for hauling duff and friends. Enjoy it.
Another great Mortske Monday episode
For those window cranks, I've seen folks convert the original cranks in to up & down switches for electronic conversions (so push down about 1" or pull up 1" for the motor control). Would be a good option for him with that modern dash in there.
Some guy at a car show tried to tell my kid his hand was moving so fast that it looked like it was moving slow while gently pushing down the window handle. I could hear the motor going but it took a bit to explain it to the boy. Silly boomer magic!
I would buy a classic instruments in my 72 Lemans, but there is just no love for us. I cry every time. The Girl and I watch the both channels every week, Love the show. I was hoping the rust bucket would land on it's side. Greetings from Perth Western Australia. So far removed your vid came by messenger pigeon.
Hahaha
Gets me through Monday’s!!
Love the video and great editing Chen.👍👍
Good M.....Afternoon Mr Mortske and Duff from Alabama
This rig is turning out nice much love bro 😎
Beautiful pickup for sure.
A trick I've used for installing carpet is using the step bit from the inside then go from the back with a 1/2" to 1" hole saw to cut a nice clean hole.
Takes longer, but makes finding the holes easier when reinstalling the bolts and makes smoothing the carpet out a bit easier with bolts installed
I’ll try and find the article, but if you connect the positive of the right channel and the positive of the left channel to the center speaker, the center speaker plays the opposing phase of each speaker. In other words when the positive and the negative of the Right and Left speakers are playing the same frequency the center speaker plays very little but when the left and Right speakers are playing different sounds the center speaker reinforces those notes and It really boosts those frequencies. It sounds really good. Your question about positive and negative connections is very important. You need to make sure that all the speakers are “in phase” so all connected the same way. Otherwise The out of phase speaker will cancel the sound from the other speaker. It’s really obvious in the bass frequencies if the speakers are out of phase
I can’t imagine still having snow piles here in May! I am enjoying the content.
There use to be a, Sonny Hill Auto, just over the state line from me in Kansas.
Always a good Monday when there's a Mortske video 👍👍👍👍
You love your roll of #9 mechanics wire
The ride with class 😊
Stereo and Havin Fun. !!!
Hooking up a single speaker with reverse polarity won't hurt the speaker a bit. All it changes is the direction the speaker cone moves. Where this becomes important is in stereo. A speaker is a sound wave pump, which moves air that we hear and our brain translates to sound. A drum hit or vocal note pushes the diaphragm in a microphone. This movement is amplified greatly and the speaker moves in the same direction as the microphone diaphragm. If you are sitting midway between two speakers with one polarity reversed, one cone is pushing sound to your ear and the other is pulling away, and they can cancel each other out. Google Dave Ratt phase cancellation, he explains it VERY well.
Some of the older John Deere tractors used the rubber seal you were fighting. I brazed a ball on the end of a hose pick as a 'get-me-by', but the real tool is much nicer.
I put one of the custom auto sound stereo in my 67 vw bus. It looks really original and the blue tooth works great
Fantastic
Well meant great appreciation from this side of the pond for the excellent entertainment, I almost feel like swapping all burned out led bulbs in my dash this week! Last time I zapped one entire zipcode of yellow brick road, test fitting one led while accidentally touching my keys with it.
Speakers need to all push and pull at the same time. Crossing the wires will put them out of phase, but in a vehicle you wont hear it. By wiring center to the right speaker your sound mix will be right dominant. To cure this, wire the positive of the left side to the positive of the center and negative to the right side negative creating a mono center.
Thanks for the info!
For all you do Thank's for the continuous entertainment and knee slapping comedy hour🤪🤣
You’re totally awesome Mortsky
Thanks

HEY SIR DUFF.
Note: Great way to unclog rattle can nozzle Remove it & spray break cleaner through it.👍
Works great with extra large paint cans.
Thanks for the tip!
this side of the pond, we put the rubber around the glass first, then run a plastic coated 10 amp auto-electrical wire right around the back lip. drop the screen in place, then, whilst someone applies pressure from the outside, slowly pull the wire out of the lip, into the truck, making sure the back lip pulls over the body lip. with wd40 to lube it, it is normally in place in 2-3 minutes...
Tech tip of the day. 8 lug wheels around 1950's up to 2013, 8 lugs same pattern. Center hole on GM is 4.5", Ford and Dodge is 4.75". I have been selling a lot of old wheels and tires from the hoard at work. I learned more than I ever wanted about rims and tires, especially odd ball sized ones.
Good to know!
