I have never had membership (I have been playing since 2013), and I don't feel like there is a struggle. I do think there is a limit to customisation, which is sad. But apart from that, not really much especially when they opened up the adventures to all players. And some animals like the Rhino.
Does anyone here prefer play wild? I think there’s more possibilities, because if you buy “Shappires” ( might have spelt it wrong ) you can use them as a non member, and membership doesn’t rlly matter, it only matters if you have “Shappires”. Might recommend play wild bc you can spend, say your birthday money, on it, and have the same things as a “Member”. I’m not 100% on all this information, but I’m 97% sure it’s true. Hope it helped!

I grew up as a Non Member, and I believe that as Wisteria say, There is something to the NM struggle. Because non members have to get creative with dens, or earning rares.
non members are neglected used scammed people hat you the struggle is real. no one believes you when you say you got hacked or something. If I see a *NICE* non member, I try to give them stuff.
One thing I have never really understood was why the heck AJ locks your already purchased member items once your membership runs out. I personally quit after that happened because I thought it was stupid. Besides them wanting to make more profit; with the idea being you lose your membership and all your previously purchased member items are locked usually prompts the account owner to repurchase another membership to regain access to their member items.
I remember when i got membership. It was Christmas of 2016. We had just finished dinner and were TEARING APART OUR PRESENTS ( cough cough ) so my mom gave me an envelope, and said she had a surprise for me in it. There was a piece of paper in it that said " Six month Animal Jam membership " with a smiley face at the top. I literally SCREAMED. I had wanted membership for so long. I still have membership to this day and i am extremely happy :)

I dont like stuff easy, it just doesn't suit me. Im used to working hard for everything. When i lost my membership i almost celebrated, because i felt like i was free (even though it was quite the opposite of being free lol) Super happy to be a non member, everything's a lot harder and thats just how i like life- no short cuts. EDIT: Forgot to mention this, but sincie i love working for stuff and being rewarded, im trading up until im super rare (A bunch of long collars, HD's, glossy wings, betas, etc) and then i'll give it all away for free and start from scratch. EDIT: Forgot to mention this, but sincie i love working for stuff and being rewarded, im trading up until im super rare (A bunch of long collars, HD's, glossy wings, betas, etc) and then i'll give it all away for free and start from scratch. May not sound appealing to you guys, but its the best way to keep the game interesting for me.
