I’m not sure if the cyber truck is a flop. I’m seeing a bunch of them on the roads here in California. Elon in my opinion is a very intelligent guy. He’s cutting every EV makers profitability by bringing the prices of Tesla vehicles down. You also have to keep in mind that Tesla is not just an EV company. They have other revenue streams and are in the AI space.

CyberTruck has been a flop???!! How?! It has a 2 MM waiting list and you get a crowd of enthusiastic people around it every time you stop. It has also got mostly rave reviews.

People who own homes and can plug in their cars will buy a personal Tesla while those in appartments can just use robotaxis as they will be cheaper than a personal car. Home owners might also drop their second car and just use robotaxis.
Hybrids is a joke from engineering and maintenance perspectives. More complicated systems and more part inventories for replacements !

the only metric by which cyber truck is a flop is production rate. Otherwise it seems to be killing it. They are a common site here in ATX. If you want a lightly armored ride that is quiet and fast has a great ride is versatile and turns heads the cyber truck is it. I imagine it will eat a lot of model X sales.

The big storey surely is that Tesla produced enough cars despite the fire, shutdown etc, they simply did not sell enough stock that was available ?
The first quarter numbers were not disappointing. One plant was closed. It was a Chinese holiday. This was expected. Why are people saying the cup is half empty? The cup is half full.
My brother is a Ubber driver and he drives Ubber in the Camry then recently he change to Hybrid Rav4. He said that customers love to get drive in big vehicles. However, Tesla want to do the opposite, Why drive people in the smallest Tesla ($25000) as possible? Why not bigger, model Y or even X instead? Doesn't make any sense. Or maybe Elon refuses to drive Fat people?

What I don’t understand is Tesla had first mover advantage with ev’s so how come there is every possibility that a Chinese or other ev maker will get to sell a sub $25000 car first?
Labor costs in China is much lower than the US. Why do you think Rivians are so expensive, but BYD (Chinese automaker) is not?
Make this next vehicle Model 1 or whatever number they want to use, the $25K car for TSLA. But it needs to be able to have a steering wheel and pedals AND work as a Robotaxi. Elon will kill to giant birds with a tiny stone.

Will solve any ''demand' issues. But more importantly gives tesla acess to internationl markets that were too expensive because of shipping and FX

Perhaps Hertz is going to buy a bunch of Robotaxis? On a serious note, TSLA will need to deal with regulatory issues, and insurance liability concerns in the future.
insurance will be the big battle, without it there will be no regulatory approval.

Misleading title
I've watched many videos of people using FSD beta and they all say the same thing, it is very good but no it isn't ready for true self driving without supervision, so no it can't be used as a robotaxi. That doesn't mean it won't eventually be ready but I'd place the odds of it being ready and having government approvals by 8/8 as near zerol.
government approval will take years, but i think we can see a scaled down version of the taxi on 8/8, which is still very remarkable if that happens

Agreed China has been competing with legacy auto companies on combustion cars for decades, they sell well in 3rd world countries because they are cheap but almost no adoption elsewhere, EV wont be any different.

Chart gave up & since Twitter being bought by Elon, no one desire to give him another 100 billions on its actual 185 billions, he would try to buy Uber .
