Nice tips @SpookLuke. I found out if I change my off- ball cam swivel speed in setting to high I can switch off ball cam to instantly view what in front of me when going for boost "after" I make a clear or pass even if it takes burning boost to get full boost. This keeps me in the game, steals boost from opponent, and always keeping me boosted up. Also i love the fact that you address to NOT go for boost (B.O.B) on Kickoffs. Cheating up to the ball is better... So Please plat players listen up. And please address player rotating ALL THE WAY BACK to camping under the goal with tm8 is challenging and makes a play, and then looks back and the other tm8 is way back at the goal, What?? I may only be a diamond player but I have noticed a big thing thatss a problem around my skill level is the fact that people have trouble reading the ball still and rotate the wrong way because of that. So one thing I like to do in freeplay seeing how I don't have access to special maps without a pc is just hitting the ball in weird ways. Not trying to score a goal or anything. Just hit the ball off the wall and try to get possesion of it again with the ball only hitting the ground one time per hit. So essentially hit the ball, let ball hit wall, let ball bounce once and try to hit the ball off the wall again before it bounces twice. It got me much better at reading the ball. Now if I see someone hitting the ball when im rotating back, ill know which side to be on before the ball hits the ground. Also helps understand what the opponent might try to make a play on. Helps you know what you should try to follow and what to let your team mate push. Don't know how much sense this makes to other people but it worked for me. My positioning is probably one of my better attributes in league.
I'm new and I basically spend a lot of my time in free play trying to find perfect settings for me and learning car control and how to do things like jump off the wall and take good touches 🙏

I got to champ in many game modes in both solo and group queue and have maintained that rank for seasons now. I have nearly zero mechanical skill, like I can't even dribble or do wall hits consistently at all, and focused basically only on rotation and game sense. It's true that my only way to rank up now is to work on my mechanical skill, but it also goes to show that just fundamentals can take you pretty damn high.
Is far post rotation outdated? I'm someone who played back in 2015. I've continued to play with that type of rotation (with passes and pushing up etc) but most team mates i find EXCLUSIVELY rotate near post. Am i doing something wrong? I'm talking C1+ ranks
So, I'm a Boomer Rocket League player on Xbox..hovering around Plat 3...I've tried to use freeplay to improve my mechanics, but my dedicated air roll buttons are RB and LB, respectively. In freeplay, RB auto resets the play and LB shoots the ball...I've found no way to turn that off, so besides rebinding my controller and relearning everything, how else can I practice, outside of casual games? And yes, I have a regular air roll button bound with powerslide that works, but it's the dedicated air roll I'd like to work on more. Any info is greatly appreciated, gents.
Just rebind the ones that annoy you. Leave the fundamentals the same. Right stick click is a spare button to rebind something to. As it only looks backwards in game. It took a bit of playing around and getting used to, but wasn't so bad. I have played over 25k games of RL btw

Find yourself a good training pack that you like and drill it til you dont miss (I like Ground Shots by Poquito, but thats just me) its not a perfect solution but the goal is to show you how to hit the ball into the net from different angles… more for your minds eye than for your raw skill
The only setting I've copied from anyone is the distance behind the car the game starts you as a 1st person game and I got way better after a friend told me I can scoot the camera back the other settings I've guessed on
So my defense in platinum has not been getting any better if anything it’s been getting worse and people keep beating me by a lot of goals and I keep making bad decisions. Do you have any tips to help me improve my defending?
I know for me, changing my mindset from "get the ball away from the opponent/stop the ball from entering my goal" to "how can I use my car to take away x shooting lane(s)" made a big difference. Defence at mid to high level becomes less about stopping the ball from being in the goal and more about how to make the ball threaten you less

a switch? thats barely a console. I had a buddy who played on ps4 and tried playing on his switch and he couldnt do it. I did notice a difference from PS4 to PS5 but not from PS5 to PC. Only good thing about PC is its easier to shit talk and workshop maps are great! Oh and UNDERGLOW! lmao

can you do a rotation 1s tutorial luke? i have troble i dont know how to rotate in 1s i know how to in 2s and 3s though
I just wish those pc training packs would come to console. 2023 wish 😞
Is SpookLuke's Training Club the server code?
less gooo here from discord bby
Yo can you please do a car design video because I still dont know what colours you use
You can rebind or completely remove the bind for the free play actions in controls
@@sirborksworth7074 Really?? Wow, I must have just missed it. I'll look for it, thanks man!
Just rebind the ones that annoy you. Leave the fundamentals the same. Right stick click is a spare button to rebind something to. As it only looks backwards in game. It took a bit of playing around and getting used to, but wasn't so bad. I have played over 25k games of RL btw
Does only using octane or that other car only tip still goes?
Or can I use my formula race car?
Because I seriously do not like the octane at all, and the f1 car fits better for me
it's what you like to use :) most just like octane hitbox from familiarity
I watch pros for positioning more than mechs is that bad too?
But the thing is I’m a 1v1 main in rocket league while I’m at gold should I test 2v2s or keep playing what I like (1v1)
do whatever playlist you want imo
Is something up with the ranks or sumn shit im champ in 2s plat in 1s ,usually d3 in both. Some ones seem like champs some are literal plat level.People im against are complaining about this aswell?
I did copy a pro freestylers setting but now used to it do I change it still
These edits🔥🔥
This vid improves the culture. Well done.
how do you get workshop maps. on pc not on steam
Anyone knows how to download those training packs on steam?
I got rocket league via Epic games and can never find those packs.
Thanks!
i jumped in discord to check it out... i love his videos, have learned alot... did not feel welcomed on discord as a gold... was told by trainers there that i dont need training, i need to just play the game more... but its ok, i get smashed with emails spamming his services, so maybe one day ill get better and still have 1b emails to find my way back
Find yourself a good training pack that you like and drill it til you dont miss (I like Ground Shots by Poquito, but thats just me) its not a perfect solution but the goal is to show you how to hit the ball into the net from different angles… more for your minds eye than for your raw skill
Give this man more subs! He’s underrated!
The only setting I've copied from anyone is the distance behind the car the game starts you as a 1st person game and I got way better after a friend told me I can scoot the camera back the other settings I've guessed on
what decal does spook use cause it looks really nice
My mate and I are plats in 1's but champ I'm 2's is that normal?
best rl youtuber
\
how much does it cost the coaching
So my defense in platinum has not been getting any better if anything it’s been getting worse and people keep beating me by a lot of goals and I keep making bad decisions. Do you have any tips to help me improve my defending?
I know for me, changing my mindset from "get the ball away from the opponent/stop the ball from entering my goal" to "how can I use my car to take away x shooting lane(s)" made a big difference. Defence at mid to high level becomes less about stopping the ball from being in the goal and more about how to make the ball threaten you less
Yes bro I'm a very competitive player!!! Love all of the tips and I hope you do good and I hope that I get better!!!!!
I dont have rocket league on steam so how do i get workshop maps? xD
I quit ranked a while back and started freestyling and I started using realllyyy high sens settings. When I started ranked again, I found that I can literally play on any sensitivity now lol
I recently put my aerial sens up higher than what I was used to and it honestly took my mechanics to a better level
same i feel like once ur control feels like it peaks u should up sens if its low. feels so much smoother
yeah that's what he recommended, start low and gradually build up as you get better
The new editing style is pretty cool and fluid. Pay your editor more. Videos feels immersive af.
-guys who watches alot of youtube lulz
The leth rings map just crashes the pc when i try to enter it
Sick 😫 ty for the info because I been having a hard time so I stopped playing rl 🙃 but I'll be back
hello i see this video for the first time im gc1 and the tipps are really helpfull vor low rankss😊
i learned so much through ur videos thx for making these ! ♥
Does anyone know spooks car design?? Please help
How can i get workshop
everyone goes for corner boost in my games and it's so annoying
Woah when did plats change to gold? 0:39
Bro i really want to join the coaching session:( but i wont make it in time its probably at max now
I love u Luke
How do I get into the free discord on my phone? I’m so lost I don’t use discord 😂
random question: is there a competitive difference in airroll right vs airroll left?
no
I started off in this game as a silver and my friends were all plats or better but i played with them a lot and now i am still a rank below but we still have a good chance due too chemistry
I feel that the only cam settings that should be copied off of is drku. I did it and now I can hit more accurate shots and helped with car control.
Bro this guy is so underrated :00
Upvoted for the cornerboost. It's so frustrating.
What the 4th tip doesn't address is epic games players. Can't do workshop maps sadly
I gotta tell you something, yesterday i started playing rocket league for the first time. Now im 6h20m in gameplay time and just finished my last placement game. Im plat 1.
How to install rings map??
i started grinding casualsbefore i ever started playing ranked, i got 1000mmr in casuals but am only plat2 in ranked
idk whats better the tips or the editing
How do u join discord
how can i join the server?
this was embarrassing at points because it perfectly justified my wrongs, but it was good to hear.
But what if I pass the ball to my teammates they keep on giving the ball away and if i don’t pass they bump me away to get the ball what do I do then
i garuntee all of your teammates arent that bad, but you should improve yourself by speeding up your offense
Casual before ranked works for checking internet connection 😅
His editor is off a bean
Bro I was champ before free play and I had stop playing untill weeks ago and i'm in shock with these tips
Great vid all these tips are super helpful. One thing I’d add is that if you are serious about improving and play on console, invest in a pc. I recently got a pc and it has made my life so much easier after pouring over 2k hours in on a mf Nintendo switch.
a switch? thats barely a console. I had a buddy who played on ps4 and tried playing on his switch and he couldnt do it. I did notice a difference from PS4 to PS5 but not from PS5 to PC. Only good thing about PC is its easier to shit talk and workshop maps are great! Oh and UNDERGLOW! lmao
@FATMAC2 I agree it’s a weak excuse of a console.
@@FATMAC2 smoother game play is another perk of pc over console, unless you go potato pc, also bakkes mod
As a D1 in snow day this video is cool yes I main snow day
Spokeluke does low rank players deserve goal explosions?
My opinion they don't deserve, what do you think?
Anyone can reply me!
Great tips in here. I find watching your videos makes my gameplay better. one thing I've noticed is my lack of training time. definitely have to spend more time there
