4 years of riding and its finally starting click for me. Last weekend I finally hit my tracks big tables and a step up thinking exactly these suggestions. Higher gear, stand tall head forward. It helps to visualize your front wheel targeting the landing too! And more speed than you think! Thanks AJ!

Well done my man. Isn't it the best feeling on the day when it all clicks and from then on in your riding career you have moved forward a level. Keep it up bro be safe and have fun.
Nothing in the world comes close to clearing that jump for the first time and getting that rush, 25ft or 90ft makes no difference.

Thank you. Even though I know all this and used to put it into practice regularly, getting back into MX this really helped going through the steps. Really appreciate the concise format, no waffle, straight to it, something to take away from every word.

It’s great how you break this down. Makes total sense. It’s all physics. I had to do that when I was a pole vaulter. One variable effects another and it’s so important to know how. Thanks so much for your videos. They are really interesting and easy to understand the techniques. 👍

Now that I’m older I stopped jumping everything I used to, incredibly frustrating when I’m battling a guy and he sends it and I roll it losing so much time. With more age has come fear and lack of confidence for some reason when my riding has done nothing but improve.

good video. My suspension on my 450 was so stiff at the stock settings it was miserable. Took me a few rides to figure it out. It was basically hydrolocking. Getting suspension setup close ish is very important for jumping.

I think a lot of people new to jumping are unsure of what to do on the take off (and how fast to go) are you pulling up, are you readjusting yourself, are you staying completely still, are you readjusting your grip? There's so many things that can go wrong on the take off with someone who doesn't understand the sensation of jumping the first time, and that's the scariest part.
Also - people new to jumping have NO clue how fast to go, how do they learn that, what's the best type of jump to start on, etc?

Thanks AJ for another great video! I'm fine with jumps, just watched quite a few of your videos and this one popped up.. finally subscribed :D
I do want to ask... As it's my only limiting factor to do bigger jumps, my suspension... I weigh 110kg and bike is stock klx450r so soft enduro suspension for 80kg rider. How quick should i change my suspension? I really do like jumping and want to do bigger but then again, I am hitting the biggest jumps around my area. I also am not the wealthiest guy so spending a whole bunch of money is a really big deal for me... Thanks AJ! Have a good one :)

Thanks Albert! Coming back to the sport after a 20 years lay off is quite challenging, but also the most fun I've had over the last, well 20 years.
Basic jumping technique is alright, but one thing I've had an "issue" with is approaching a jump with excess speed. What is my go to here?
Obviously Bubba-Scrubbing it solves all problems, but right now I kind of get on the brakes and than back on the gas up the face and that feels super weird.
If you've committed and got enough speed ahead could you possibly get off the throttle at or up the face and let the bike(and rider) "collapse" that way?
I'm basically asking for the jumping lesson 1.2
    Good luck this weekend!
    Thanks
