i remember playing this on my grandmas tv after school from k5 to 2nd grade:( i’m moving into my college dorm tomorrow, time flies. i’m glad this got recommended to me when it did.
I can still close my eyes and see myself playing this game in my parents’ bedroom. Time really flies by so fast, I couldn’t believe it’s still enjoyable to remember.
@@itsjustmonae I still have mine I found it and just put in new batteries in it today cause I thought of it, the batteries were so corroded I haven’t touched that thing since I was like 7, I loved the jellyfish stages they were hard asf tho lol
Only ones I'd mess with as a kid was patrick in the maze and spongebob bubble one.. still considering paying the exorbitant price tag on one of these on ebay to relive this.. nostalgia is a hell of a drug
I got this as part of a bundle with three other Plug N’ Play joysticks for about $20-ish, I looked online & even this alone is not too expensive. I wish this could be emulated but unfortunately it can’t because of some CPU being in some single glob, some others can though.
Fun fact I happened upon by chance- when you turn the Plug-and-Play on and gently bump the bottom of the controller with an open palm, there's a chance you can inexplicably access a debug mode of sorts. I'll never forget the night I found that
I love playing one of those Plug&Play game devices. I did get a 100% complete complete on Patrick in the Maze once. It was many years ago, still have the memory.
Watching this is such a trip down memory lane. Being a kid and throwing those jelly fish at each other/the wall was my favorite thing in these games. Watching them Just disappear into bubbles was so funny
I really miss that times my uncle said that he will buy me and my brother Game boys but I didnt want it because I thougst that Gameboy was a Candy and then they bought me this plug and play spongebob and that was the best mistake that I have ever made
I have such fond memories of this Plug N' Play. I used to go to my grandparents house and have my grandfather watch me play the Donkey Kong knock off one, every time I lost I would jokingly hit my grandfather and would say he made me lose, It is one of the fondest memories I had with him outside of going bowling and getting an icecream after. I miss him and this game. Gonna go see if I can find my old unit so I can re-live those memories in a way.
I would play the Super Mario ripoff one until my eyes were sore. I had completely forgotten. Back into the vault for another 15 years for this memory! 😂
I"m so fucking sad... literally this brought back so many memories. I also had like a spongebob tape that I'd always watch. It had the ghost pirate captain episode on it.
Believe it or not, there’s actually a second version of the Plug & Play that DOES include menu music, but as far as I know they’re way less common than the one in the video.

My brother got so mad at the jelly fish lvl one time, and he had kept on failing and I tried to hold in my laugh so he failed one more time and just busted out laughing and he beat my a$$🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think "Sandy's Surf Adventure" and "Invasion of the Hooks are based on "Sandy, SpongeBob and the Worm" and "Hooky" respectively. What episodes do you think the other three games are based on?
@@SpongeyBubby after going super deep in this rabbit hole i will say, apparently it not only is super hard to make a plug'n'play emulator but some of these games are programmed in such ways that they're so unique they are reaaallly hard to transfer and sadly there arent that many people interested.. maybe someday though.. i hope cause the cheapest i can find this one is 50$

This is sooo nostalgic. I played this game ALOT as a child. I was addicted to this game 😂

Me too! I would play this a lot back in the day.
This came out in 2003, you had already lost your memories, Mr. Reagan.
I wanna cry soo bad, I had this game, I'm going on a childhood spree and remembered this vaguely 😭😭😭

This was able to unseal a forgotten memory. For a Plug 'n Play, the graphics are amazing.
I had this game, and stayed playing it! I don’t even know if we still have it! The bubble game and Super Chum Bucket were my favorite!
This unlocked a memory I had DEEP in the back of my brain 😭😭😭 thank you! Definitely gave me a nostalgia & a serotonin boost
Thank you so much for this! I played it so often as a kid and just thought about it randomly today. It made my day watching you play!

Remember playing this when the batteries were almost dead and it would glitch out and like only half the pixels would load properly
My brother and I would play Patrick and the Maze as a team when we got along. This brings back so much nostalgia 😁
Nostalgia hit me in my face!😭
Same xd I completely forgot about the chum bucket game
I remember having this when I was younger. Crazy how nostalgic this is
bro i had 3 games like this batman spiderman and spongebob and all of these sounds give me ptsd of how hard it was for my 6 year old brain

Fun fact, Sandy's Surf Adventure reuses sound effects from Bosconian in the Namco 5-in-1 Plug n Play also from Jakks Pacific

The bubble pop one is pretty fun tbh 😂 like pinball with mediocre controls

I really miss that times my uncle said that he will buy me and my brother Game boys but I didnt want it because I thougst that Gameboy was a Candy and then they bought me this plug and play spongebob and that was the best mistake that I have ever made
This was my first exposure to SpongeBob. My TV didn't have Nickelodeon back then(2008)
I was 11 when this came out but I do remember plug n plays being really really popular

I used to play this in 2003. I would love to play it again, but I don't think they sell Plug N Plays anymore.
I remember getting these for Easter back around 2007 😭
grew up with this. its so eerie how silent it is
The lack of background music and voice lines gives it a weird vibe that's similar to many Atari 2600-like games
Believe it or not, there’s actually a second version of the Plug & Play that DOES include menu music, but as far as I know they’re way less common than the one in the video.
I used to play this when I was 9 and I was staying in Maine for the summer
