I was testing the flips on my avata 2 yesterday and accidentally flew directly into my house and crashed! lol. drone and house are ok. haha. avata 2 is a tough beast.
Unboxing my Avata 2 today. I received late yesterday. New tp FPV so starting with the Motion 3 controller will be great. I ordered an FPV Controller 3 which I will receive in a few day and will try after I fee confident flying the Avata 2. Updating my Air 3 and Mini 4 Pro now to be able to use the goggles with them. All my drones are OC4, so great to be able to use the goggles on my other two drones. As usual, another great video from Pilot Institute.
I own a mini pro 4 and was contemplating of getting the goggles 3 but have yet to see a review online and decide from there...hope you get to do it first...
You guys are killing it with these reviews. I'm still waiting for my shipment but coming from the standard non-FPV drones I'm wondering if the standard RC will be more familiar than the joystick, I'll have both to play around with and test though,.
Can you elaborate on the scene flying through the tunnel/drainage pipe? You said something about GPS but was this a failsafe issue or the flight controller didn't compensate correctly when GPS was lost?
I done flips with the parrot fpv long time ago. I kinda don't like the avata due to the fact that I got my first one repaired and after getting it back it flew off on me and I couldn't find it
I just watched a guy crash from tree height and broke a motor arm. The avata 2 is not user repairable. Someone broke a prop guard already, too. Any damage will require it to be sent back to dji for repairs or replacement. No 30 dollar prop guard replacement. No 79 dollar lower frame replacement. Can't get to where the motor wires are soldered for upgrades.
Yep. I m one of them. I had dji refresh though, i paid 130€ on top of the 99 for 2 years and i got a new drone and still able to break to more. Seems good to me
What part do you think is not honest? We don’t get paid for these reviews and have been impartial in our reviews for years. We have nothing to gain in rigging reviews.
"easy acro mode" the flips and Rolls the cheap indoor crap has done for the last 5 years for $50. not a good choice of options to add, DJI. Love my Avata O.G.
You barely release that trigger and that drone will slam on the brakes, or slow down quick messing up shots. Those new goggles 3 are the absolute worst ever! There is a soft cheap thin rubber to hard molded plastic with no real cushion and doesn’t have much extension whatsoever for some of us with not small heads. I was getting a lot of smear effects when flying and had to keep adjusting the height of the goggles 3. Comfort for me the Goggles 2 are so much better it’s not even funny. I have never been so frustrated with a new DJI drone package ever like I was with the Avata 2! If the Controller 3 doesn’t make this drone get one hell of a lot better and if the Goggles 2 doesn’t become compatible I am cutting my loses and getting rid of the whole thing!
I've flown FPV since 2016. I started flying with the Avata last year and am buying the Avata 2. Why, because it is so much easier to fly with the motion controller. Absolute stress-free flying. I'm now 80% Avata/ 20% fpv.
@@teamster1997 Get a good RC controller and a simulator and practice. Spend some time on Bardwell's channel and you will get information what to buy and what not... but he is not always of the same opinion as me....that's ok.
@@turk1s Just compare price of the batteries 😆 And every time you want a new drone dji force you to buy a whole set. And this time you don't even get a controller. I have bought exactly one rc controller and one pair of goggles and I have been flying FPV for almost ten years...
The “can you fly it while holding a baby?” Line definitely got a chuckle out of me. Great quick and to the point video.

They say that it breaks more easily compared to 1st gen, how fast did you crash?

please so a review and share online on how your mini 4 pro performed with the goggles 3
I love the way you tell stories. Thanks from Mendoza, Argentina 🇦🇷 🌄🍷🍽️⚽🎣

I love the post with the baby. We're expecting our baby boy for August and with this I can convince my wife easier that we"need"an Avata 2 haha.

Great use of the baby for VO. 😂
Great video! do the filters on the avata 1 fit the avata 2?
No, different mounts.
Maybe it's because I had "wide" mode on, but when my Avata 2 looks straight down, I see part of the lower housing structure.

What legal requirements does this drone need to fly?

correct me if I'm wrong....but even with the AR, you still need to be accompanied by a VO right?
Correct! We used a VO for all flights.
@@PilotInstitute might have to bribe the kid next door but letting him fly one if my others in exchange for being VO :-P or teach my cat to fly :-P
The guy said he never flown a drone while having a pilot institute shirt on
That's Jesse, the head of content for our airplane channel. He's an airplane pilot, but this was his first drone flight!
I can not figure out how to get my camera to go up and down while flying. It will operate on the ground though!! lol any help would be appreciated 🤙
Easy acro mode so cheeseball though. 😂

I waited 6 days for my new drone when they stated 4 though 😂
I think you went overboard with the camera changes on this one. You don't need to switch angles 3-4 times per sentence - that's just distracting.
Naw its good how it is
This, this video was made to keep DJI happy, (and any potential manufactures who need a shill )not an honest review for potential customers

damn stop with the camera changes, it's jarring af

The good news is, it’s available for those who want it and can be skipped by those who don’t want to use it.

Oh my God... Buy a real FPV drone instead and you will be much happier and you will have money in your pocket too...
But how much cheaper is it? For the same image quality and hastle to get you in the air?
Got any recommendations? I want to get into FPV, but a fixed income limits what I can get. I have the M3P and really like it.
