Do you mind sharing what bridge that is behind you in the background? Also, is it possible to have the same success bank fishing, or is the depth finder (fish finder) a large part in finding the fish from the start during their feeding time?
Anything is possible, but I think your chances aren't great if you're not off the bank in a boat or kayak. A depth finder isn't necessary, I would suggest watching some of my other Striper videos where I talk about Seagulls and "reading" the birds. I have had a lot of success watching the seagulls, they will show where the fish are. Timing is a big part of it, and it changes from year to year due to weather patterns, water temp, etc.
Thanks for watching! The size of the jig head will depend on wind and depth, I was using a 1/8 oz that day. I mention in the video what line. 8 lb Gamma fluorocarbon. It’s the best line you can buy.
It depends on how windy it is and how deep I'm fishing. I pour jig heads in sizes from 1/8 oz all the way up to 3/4 oz. Use the lightest jig head you can get away with.
I really enjoyed how you pointed out what the spots look like on your fish finder.
I need to do more of that . Thanks for watching!
Love hearing that drag peel when you get one on. So much fun!
That is one of my favorite sounds! Thanks for watching!
Gotta love those Lake Lanier Stripers. Good stuff Dana !
Thanks Don!
We know it's not just the lure! There's a lot of patience, skill and finesse! Very educational!
Thanks 👍
Good video and good advice!
Thanks for watching!
Great video. Exactly what I’m looking for
Thanks for watching!
Always good to learn from the master. Thanks for sharing the insights Dana. I've always had good success with the bucktail jig and stripers.
Thanks Titus! I love fishing a buck tail.
That lure combo is so “DEADLY”, it catches’em, and some GOOD ONES TOO, great job Dana, njoyed it.
Thanks Chauncey!

When you have serious bass thumb you are doing something right. I hope the boat is ok after running into Nessie.
Ha ha! Nessie, I have never thought of that, but you may be on to something.I was thinking it was a Sasquatch.
What time do you normally go out for striper?
I prefer to fish mornings, but I’ll go whenever I can!
How deep in metered do you drop your bait at? Range ?
Meters
@@javy2871 It depends on what the fish are doing that day. Sometimes just a couple of feet, others as deep as 30 or 40 feet.
Looks like you’re using a Shimano Vanford reel. I already had one in my cart but haven’t pulled the trigger. Do you like it?
The best reel I’ve ever had.
@@FCPFishing Awesome. Time for me to hit order!
@@Evan165 I'll be getting another as soon as I can afford it!
What area of the lake do you typically find the most success?
I usually fish the north end. I live up here and the fishing is more consistent.
Someone told me they fish striper there with chicken livers.
Maybe, but that's not how I fish. Watch my next video for some striper action.
