    I love to see others getting wheelchairs that are suitable for them. Hopefully I'll get one someday too (I've had to borrow chairs instead of having my own at the moment). Thanks for sharing, it's nice to come back and see different types of wheelchairs.

      I loved my chair. I want to donate it. But scared that I’ll need it and then won’t have it. So I’m waiting 5 years to donate or sell it and then if needed my insurance will cover the cost of new one.

    I love your wheelchair. I have the smart drive system as well for my wheelchair, I love it. I use it everywhere since I have a spinal cord injury it makes it hard for me to push all the time, but I really wanted my manual chair and not a power chair or scooter. My wheelchair is a TiLite TRA it is pearl white and the accent color is ultra violet. I get all kinds of compliments on it.

    I wish I'd talked to my rep about push rim covers, they'd make pushing in the heat/cold a lot easier. I'm also glad to see I'm not the only adult who still orders wheelie bars/anti-tippers on my chairs; though, I just like to tip back and relax without having to worry about busting my head open because I tipped too far.

    • @SarahjeanandAlicia
      @SarahjeanandAlicia  4 года назад +2

      Well I ordered them. But since day one never have them on my chair. They are collecting dust under the bed. Lol

    • @leerfarmer
      @leerfarmer 4 года назад +1

      Well your not the only one to order or use them, mine are on my chair in the up Position most of the time, however, I put them down for about a week or so after I’ve fallen backwards and hit my noodle. I have found that they are very handy to keep on the chair, Especially when I want to work on it, I just flip them down and then you pull up the back wheels and we’re going to chair.

      @@SarahjeanandAlicia that's a good thing though because you will become more proficient without them. You need to get over the fear of tipping...or you will not ever be able to do necessary wheelchair moves. They are kind of like training wheels on a bike. You need to take them off in order to do things like a big girl.

    Hi from Florida,
    A suggestion, in case no has mentioned it before, ask your doctor for a script for physical therapy on wheelchair skills. They will teach you how to fall backwards without getting hurt and how to come off of curbs and to jump curbs in a safe manner. Really good video and thanks for sharing...
    I hope your doing better and I hope your enjoying your smartdrive.

    FYI: The strap by your legs is called a calf strap & your "saftey net" are called anti tips or slang is wheelie bars. I like the color, it's the same as my Q7, but I have red highlights.

    Quick release wheels...not push wheels. You can't jump a curb with wheelie bars. Power assist wheels use a different part of your arms...Smart Drive is for people with wrist function...many quadriplegics don't have good or strong wrist function and how are they supposed to connect it?

    I have a smartdrive and use it all the time when I'm out shopping I use it in bigger store and i use it in some smaller stores depending on how cramped it is. I have a hard time pushing my self for a long time due to having asthma so smartdrive has saved me from asthma attacks

    It has been about half a year now - how are you liking your Q7? Any major issues, or has it been working great?
    I am just starting the process, trying to get an appointment for a wheelchair eval, but love the look of your chair. Are you loving the white still? I am between matte black and the white as well, but love the contrast of your chair. During your process, did you compare the Quickie 7r vs the Q7? What pulled you to the Q7 vs. the Quickie 7? Keep the vids coming!

    I have hEDS and POTS and got my custom wheelchair about the same time as you did! Mine is an Ottobock Ventus with push rim covers too. It took me a year to get it, between UK Wheelchair service and my friend setting up a Go Fund Me to make up the shortfall. How do you find self-propelling on pavements as opposed to smooth shopping centre floors?!? Hope your foot is healing well, stripey hugs from Lincolnshire, UK!

      Aspie Zebra I honestly I feel any huge difference. My smart drive tends to give out every now and then on gravel or pavement. But otherwise I propel the same.

    How can I tell my mom I think something is wrong? I am 16, still a minor but I think I have something wrong, when I walk or stand up for too long I will get lightheaded, blurred or darkened vision, dizziness, and get very unsteady, as well as I will randomly get little spasms and get a little shake. And to add to that I have a resting heart rate of 110 almost all the time, But I’m afraid my mom will just blow it off like it’s nothing or that I’m making it up

    • @Jaggededge112

      Chelsea, my advice it to tell her and emphasize that this is a big deal and that you need to see your doctor. I always believe my kids when they tell me something is wrong. It is important that you get a check up. Write a list of your symptoms, any questions you may have for the doctor. I really hope your mother will believe you and get you seen asap. take care.

    • @SarahjeanandAlicia
      @SarahjeanandAlicia  2 года назад +1

      I swore I replied to this. And I am so sorry I didn’t. This was 11 months ago. I’m so mad.
      But never late then “sorry”. I am sorry though.
      Tell your mom. Make a list of your symptoms. Starting with the worst. High heart rate etc…. First go to your mom with a concern. Show he emotion. Explain that you haven’t been feeling wel for X amount of time. Tell her whats been happening. Tell her you have been scared and scared what she may say and think. Hand her the list after. So she can see this long list.
      That may help.

    My goodness...who's your insurance company? It's your first chair isn't it? Black tires will dirty your hands more and mar floors. Please do a video when you get your truck because I want to get a truck and I want just the lift to put it in the bac seat...but everyone wants a gazillion dollars for aa big elaborate one.
