Thanks for video! very helpful But they're a bonus thing: It is ver CRUCIAL and IMPORTANT to teach kids how to be gentle(including handling and playing) with chihuahua as they are very fragile and can cause serious injuries if a kid isn't taught.Example if you isn't taught a huge mastiff to be gentle with a fragile toddler,he could knock down him or her.
Hi, great video! I am thinking of getting a one year old chihuahua from a shelter. Could I apply everything you talked about in video to a chihuahua that is not a puppy? Any suggestions to training a one year old chihuahua? Thank you!
Good question! I'm not as much of an expert on other dog breeds but I would think all dog breeds would need good socialization. It's just that you might not want to teach a Labrador to sit on your 6 year old's lap 🤔😂
Love your videos!! They have been so much help with my "husband's" (wink, wink) first chihuahua. What's the best approach to get her to stop biting our 8 year old hairless cat? Igor, my hairless, has been great and he's very interested in her and playing with her. But I have to keep removing Henny, the puppy, when she starts biting too much. I think he's losing interest because she keeps biting him. Igor is not like a small child I might be able to "explain" to, any tips??? I really want them to be friends and companions. Thanks!
Question I’m getting a teacup tomorrow it’s a boy and I already have a 3 year old chihuahua but I don’t know if they will get along.. my chihuahua barks at a other dogs other people she does not know and takes atleast a mouth to trust others
Mostly a cat thing, but I think it has something to do with comfort.. They did that to mamma when feeding, and associate that kneading motion with the comfort of mamma and milk
Oh, thank you so much! I love you too :) Their eyes open around 2 weeks old. I recommend keeping them indoors until they've received all their vaccinations, usually around 12 weeks old. Before that, it's risky to take them any place they could be exposed to Parvovirus and other deadly puppy diseases.
So it's been 2 days and I've stuck to your video straight from the get go, I just don't know what I'm doing wrong 😭literally everytime he comes over to play when he's awake he is play biting and it's actully a bit nippy, I'm giving him toys to replace our fingers and face lol but he definetly prefers our digits to his toys for sure, do I just keep giving him toys (he had soft hard small and larger toys so he has options) or just like put him back in his bed?
Don't worry, it takes time. Be patient with the little guy. Keep replacing fingers with toys and you can gently tell him "no bite" every time he puts his teeth on your digits (then immediately replace). Eventually he will learn what that means. For now he's experimenting and still hasn't learned who's the boss. The important thing right now is that he's learning to interact with you and the kids and he's learning to trust you. Make sure to do the belly up exercise several times a day and give him a treat ONLY if he does not struggle while upside down. Sit there with the kids too and help them do the belly up test. The baby needs to learn you and the kids are his pack leader. Just like a human baby, it takes time to learn everything. You got this!!
@@SweetiePiePets you always make perfect sence I'm grateful, ok so I forgot to give a treats when doing the belly up exercise so that's something I'll start doing from now on, thanks so much for getting back to me uve made me feel like I can correct this nippy behaviour quickly x 🐶
HELP! My minature chihuahua is almost 5 years old this upcoming February and im finally working on bringing her inside the house instead of on the porch. Everything so far is going fine, but my 1 year old nephew is definitely scary to her. She'll let him pet her but quickly run towards me once he stops and tries her best to avoid him. He also just doesn't know how to be gentle with her and I have absolutely no clue how to teach him that. Any advice?????
John Doe ooo, that’s such a great question. My favorite had always been white ... until I met Bruce and saw a lilac for the first time 😍 But then there’s chocolate.... I love Margo’s rich, silky brown coat. So probably lilac, white and chocolate. ☺️
Helpful.In fact,adult supervision is IMPORTANT.
I grew up as a kid with Chihuahuas and this is on point. Great video! Although, the kids might have to grow up with a bed hog until they move out!
Lol!! A bed hog
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 🐶❤️

Well that boy with the beautiful hair has no problem, he's perfect for the chihuahuas
babsfocker isn’t he though? He’s my nephew and he comes over to help me socialize the puppies. We have so much fun 🥰 🐶

Can you please make a video of all the supplies you need to take care of a teacup Chihuahua
Grace Swanson yes I will. Keep your eye out for it. Thank you for the suggestion. 😘
Nice video! Does this apply to all dogs or just Chihuahua?

Do your chihuahuas ever “make bread” why do some dogs do this?
Edit: I forget the actual term for this hopefully you know what I’m talking about.
John Doe umm I’ve never heard that term before. Do you mean kneading?
Sweetie Pie Pets yes! That’s it.
Mostly a cat thing, but I think it has something to do with comfort.. They did that to mamma when feeding, and associate that kneading motion with the comfort of mamma and milk
Wʜᴀᴛs ᴋɴᴇᴀᴅɪɴɢ?
usually that happens when they are taken from the mother too early.
Ay have one chihuahuas he cute he Day care of me❤
When do dogs open there eyes and when can you start taking your puppy out .. Love you ❤❤❤😂

What color is your favorite chihuahua?

Every colour
As a Chihuahua lover I'd recommend just getting rid of the kids - they're expensive and almost impossible to train.
😂😂😂 ummmmm, I can’t deny this
@@SweetiePiePets lol - just kidding.....KINDA.
@@guymerritt4860 I know, me too (kind of) 😂
Are 8 years old good of touching chihuahua?
I’m 8 years old :p
