  • Ammonia possesses certain properties that make it suitable for use as an energy storage medium, a hydrogen carrier and as a fuel. As a carbon-free fuel, ammonia can be burnt directly in internal combustion engines, gas turbines, coal boilers and furnaces, or fed to fuel cells to produce electricity. Therefore, ammonia could replace fossil fuels and decarbonise emissions heavy sectors such as power generation, transport and industrial processes. This webinar will provide a review of recent developments in R&D and deployment in ammonia combustion technologies, and analyse the barriers and opportunities, and the potential carbon emissions reduction of ammonia fuel use.
