Hi Everyone,
Hauser & Wirth gallery is presenting Italian artist Roberto Cuoghi's first major solo exhibition in New York. The exhibition title 'Pepsis' refers to a Greek word linked to the concept of digestion. Deliberately mixing his artistic practice, 'Pepsis' is Cuoghi's attempt to free himself from his own artistic assumptions and experiences, his cultural imprint.
'I paint against my intentions. That is, if something of mine appears, I go over it. My way of painting can be defined only through the form it takes each time. I'm a painter without a mindset.'
