My mom is fighting for her life against Covid. Please pray for her everyone.
Update: My mother has recovered. Thank you everyone.
Update 2: She got hospitalised for GERD caused by COVID treatment and got slightly recovered
Update 3: She now has D Dimer count elevated to dangerous levels. Luckily, we admitted her again at the right time and she is now recovering.
Update 4: D-Dimer levels are reduced. She’s being treated for GERD. Thank you all for your continuing support.
Update 5: Endoscopy completed and she’s getting treatment for this.
Update 6: It was a good few days and she had started to throw up and had Acid Reflux issues again. We have been given some medicines for this and so far, she has recovered well and started to eat well.

Please pray for my grandpa James Council. He has SEVERE pneumonia and Acute Kidney Failure. He was put into the I.C.U. because he was not getting enough carbon dioxide out. We had good news today that the carbon dioxide has gone down. However he still has very bad Pneumonia and Kidney Failure. Also, pray for my sister, Aunt Michelle, that she will react better to all of this. -Christopher

I almost died from severe gastropareises it's a very bad stomach issue, But close enough. And last year when I was in the hospital, They found fluid in my lungs. I was awake for this procedure, But when they numbed the area & put a catheder through the ribs in my back & into the lungs, They drained 600ML of fluid. I was surprised! I had no symptoms of the fluid in there. Nor did I know where it came from or how it got there. I'm a NON-SMOKER! But I bet you were miserable!

Dr Dickinson I have the exact same symptoms, last Thursday I went to the clinic & got diagnosed with bronchitis but I went back again to get a check up & the look on my nurses face just said it all. I had to go get X-ray pictures of my lungs & man I’ve never been so worried, it confused me cause I don’t have a cough at all but I do have the other symptoms such as trouble breathing, pain in my lungs. Etc, that same day I had to get a steroid shot on my ass as I wasn’t improving from my last check up, this time the nurse said my lungs sounded like sandpaper🤕 & so here I am waiting for the results praying everything will be ok because man this is honestly one of the hardest weeks of my life so far yet

My mom almost died from Pneumonia this time last year. I spent my 2020 New Eve in the hospital with her, she stayed there for one month. It was a very scary time for us as a family, knowing she might have a covid-like disease. Thankfully, by the time she returned we hit quarantine a week later. So her recovery process went very well :)

My dad had 2 strokes a week and a half ago. Rushed him to the ER. Turns out he had a 30mm aneurysm in the deepest part of his brain. They had to try endovascular surgery twice, and thankfully were able to do a flow diverter and coils. But, he only just got transferred from ICU to rehab to start working on PT for his strokes, and now we find out he may have caught pneumonia while recovering from his surgery. Thankfully, he got his vaccines for it, so it hopefully won’t be that bad, but this is just not what we need right now especially during this super important time of him needing to work on gaining his strength back to recover from the strokes. This has been an incredibly difficult 2 weeks

I had pneumonia last year in may and ended up in the ICU in a coma on full life support for about 2 weeks, in the ICU for a month, was in the hospital for a total of 2 months. The doctors had told my parents to get all my family members to the hospital as they didn't think I was going to make it and gave me a 1% chance of survival. The doctors were great and because of them I'm still here today and the only thing I still have from it is a little cough. It is scary, before I got sick I never thought of pneumonia as something this serious and hope that anyone else that has gone through this are strong fighters and make it through it.

Dad is currently recovering from covid induced pneumonia right now. The days that he was in the hospital were some of the most stressful days of my life. I was legitimately always anxious. Heart constantly pounding hard. The feeling of butterflies in my stomach was almost always there. Now I’m having chest pains and I think it was cuz of the stress from me being worried for 3 weeks straight but Idk yet so I guess I should get that looked at lol. To anyone who is reading this, I suggest purchasing one of those small blood-oxygen concentration readers. Since covid is still roaring, having one of these on hand can let you know if covid has caused any pneumonia to form(if you have covid). My dad was able to see his oxygen drop below normal levels and admitted himself to the emergency room allowing doctors to catch the pneumonia early. This may have saved his life.

He was on oxygen for I’d say 3-4 months after getting released from the hospital. He did his lung exercises every day, 3 times a day and made a very strong recovery. He’s always been good at bouncing back when given the opportunity to do so. Nowadays everything is back to normal, and we have all been good after his recovery. Your concern for my dad is very much appreciated, hope you and your family get or remain in good health, cheers!

Had to visit the emergency recently because I had trouble breathing, turned out I had attracted pneumonia. Didn't get any oxygen and while they ran their tests and tried to figure it out, I lied on a rock hard bed with heavy breathing for hours, waiting for help.
When they finally told me what was wrong, I got some antibiotics. I breathe better now and the fever is down. I had the symptoms of fever, chest pains, coughing, sweats, serious chills and trying to eat solid food only made me nauseous. Wearing thick clothes or extra blankets didn't help with the chills very much.
Since I got sick I've lost some weight, probably due to the lack of eating. Currently on the way towards recovery. This was one experience I never want to undergo again. Really scary to be so helpless and feeling that you might pass out and die of suffocation.
Makes you really appreciate a simple biological function such as breathing, even more.

***** Sorry to hear you're sick.
I found out that drinking tea worked quite well, at least it will stay down and you'd get the fluids you need into you.
Rosehip soup and blueberry soup is good alternatives until you feel you can eat solid food.

It’s not Bacterial It’s Bronchial Pneumonia, my mom had it years ago in the mid 70s and was hospitalized with it for months in a new hospital up in Cincinnati, OH at the time. My mom never was really all that sick before till she came down with that. My mom then, had it several times in her life after that but, she never had it near as bad again where she had to be in the hospital. I lost 3 cousins to bronchial pneumonia, the 2 cousins on my dad’s side were brothers. My other cousin on my mom’s side although he lived in Ohio they took him to a Indiana Hospital so, more family was close by and, the trip was quicker for my aunt and uncle and, he was on the operating table and passed. I have a chronic illness and, I ended up getting bronchial pneumonia several yrs down the road after being diagnosed and, yes, I was hospitalized with it a couple times. In the beginning before and, after, I was diagnosed with a chronic illness but, both regular pneumonia and bronchial pneumonia it definitely makes it hard to breathe, you feel like you’re breathing for your last breath each time because, oxygen levels drop, that’s a big part of it. But, here is what has helped me from getting so sick with both pneumonias and bronchitis and, respiratory infections is Chemotherapy, seriously! I came down with CLL not long after, I turned 42 and, after 2 rounds of chemo, through the yrs, I’ve gotten sick less and less!

I was hospitalized once when I was seven because I had caught pneumonia from my younger brother through bacteria (luckily his wasn't severe, despite being asthmatic) and it was hell! My mom said they wanted to cut open my chest, but instead they surgically inserted line in my arm that went all the way into my left lung that took the antibiotics straight to my lung. I still remember the taste of that medicine and I still have the surgery scar to this day (I'm 18, so that was 11 years ago now lol)

I was in ICU 2 and a half weeks in January this year (2018). I had very bad pneumonia and I was put on a ventilator. My Father has said I got admitted on Wednesday morning to the ICU (January 10th) and I was in Critical condition on Thursday night.
A priest was called and I was anointed. The pneumonia thankfully went away but the damn thing came back once again, plus I had 2 viruses in my lungs along with the pneumonia. The priest was called once more and I was anointed for a second time.
The hospital staff put me into an induced coma on the Wednesday I was admitted, so I was unaware of any of this. I was in the coma for 10 days in total. When I woke up I was very confused and didn't know where I was. I mean I knew I was in hospital due to my surroundings but I didn't know I was in ICU or what my illness was. I was also hallucinating pretty badly, I saw a woman who looked around 110 years old sitting down. Why would a woman that old be in ICU? She was obviously too old to work.
I saw a Skeleton at the end of the corridor I was looking down, it had a black robe on and was swinging it's arms from side to side. None of this was frightening, I was just hallucinating it. Even when I was taken out of my coma and it seemed like the worst was over, I can remember lying down and a Doctor looked at the devices behind me. I don't know the specific word for these items, but the items that read my heart rate, my stable signs, etc. They tell the Doctors and nurses how I am.
I remember they said they had to put me to sleep. I didn't feel ill or anything, but they must have seen something wrong on these devices and they felt the need to send me to sleep. I didn't know what they did afterwards.
I had very vivid dreams while I was in ICU, like I was alive and in the dream. One dream was particularly bad where I was held hostage. I dreamed I left hospital and I couldn't go back to my apartment so I had to go to a homeless shelter. In the homeless shelter everyone was sleeping in the same area, and it was (for some reason) in a big corridor rather than a room. I was trying to sleep when an African man broke in, pulled out a gun and held us hostage. I can remember him having 2 sidekicks, each who had a gun and were keeping an eye out for the police. This gang was bringing in a new illegal drug from Africa to Europe.
A staff member there thought to let the gas out from the radiotors/heaters and make the man drowsy. This worked in the dream and we took his gun. (I dunno who we were not drowsy) But at the end of the dream the man escaped. I can remember when I was awake in ICU the next week I was very paranoid this man was out to get me, I felt the dream was real. I thought if I get to go home he will be waiting for me or something. Confusion played a part in my thoughts too, I wasn't seeing things right. I can remember waking up one morning and thinking I was in a different city! I had a man from the hospital sitting next to my bed in a chair and he said for me to look out the window and see I was in my home city.
Thankfully I was placed into a normal hospital ward on January 27th, after 17 days being in ICU. The incredibly vivid dreams stopped by them and I was obviously no longer on a ventilator, though I was still receiving oxygen. I am almost certain the very strong antibiotics I was given caused the vivid dreams. 3 years previous I got a bad chest infection and was given strong antibiotics in a normal ward in hospital; they relaxed my mind. Like how your mind goes from thought to thought constantly, with the antibiotics my mind stopped all that and I stayed on the one thought. Antibiotics do influence what your mind thinks and I reckon I was on some seriously potent antibiotics in ICU.
I was thankfully discharged from hospital on the 5th of February, 5 days less than a month in hospital. My legs weren't back to their full strength yet, I had difficulty climbing up the stairs to my apartment, I had to take it one step at a time. Plus I felt like my breathing wasn't 100%. But those issues got resolved over the following 3 weeks.
    Thanks for reading :)

My grandpa died because of this. Like he thought he had an allergy but no that was pneumonia. Only if he told us that he coughs alot he would have been alive today. When it got serious, he fainted, then all of us came and he was in ICU for 11 days and he passed away at 11:40 pm at 11 Feb. My grandma and my aunt (dad 's sis) were crying so much when the call came from hospital that it got serious. The next day the news came and they told he died. Me and my cousin cried.

I think I still have pneumonia.. I have a mild pneumonia last year so i take antibiotics in 1 week my cough goes away so i stop taking medicine but I still have phlegm until now and it feels like I can't catch my breath, I also have chest pain when I laugh and shortness of breath when I move around but I'm scared to tell it to my family so I choose to hide my struggles and act that I'm completely fine, I'm only 13 years old and I dont know what to do but im still hoping and praying that I won't die sooner I'm trying to be a good girl so God would heal me 🙏

I’m afraid to say that stop taking antibiotics isn't wise if it's without a doctor's permission.
Have you been told what was the cause?
If not, to molds or other allergens could be the cause. There are many causes for pneumonia.
I strongly recommend you should see a doctor as soon as possible.
The worst unwise act is keeping your symptoms secret to your family.
You said you’re only 13years old. Please do not waste your time and bright future because of your illness untreated.I really hope you will take any ways to get well soon.
Last year I had pneumonia in the meantime I had been hospitalised for another disease.
I know what the symptoms are like.I couldn’t sleep because of the coughs ,constant bloody sputum and nausea for a night.
I really hope you get well as soon as possible, since I know the hard time.

I have this, they mis diagnosed as a blood clot in my lung so to be told it’s pneumonia instead you can imagine the relief. However the PAIN pneumonia brings is like no other. It’s like someone welding metal on your chest. The crackling and bubbling on your chest is daunting aswell. Constantly shivering even if body temp is high, plus numerous other side effects.. awful 😭

Pneumonia sucks I got it recently which is really unexpected considering it’s summer currently and my oxygen level was under 85 I felt like each breath makes it harder to breath also my body was producing a lot of mucus which is annoying how I found out was by having shortness of breath and yellow phlegm thankfully I’ve recovered fully
