I like my neck light, but I typically only use it for wheel well work. (Brakes and Suspension). Occasionally for exhaust work. Biggest con for me is the neck sweat and sometimes where the lights pivot will give you a little pinch. Wish they had a soft band along the inside. Runtime is not as good as advertised on mine. But all in all I do like them.
Use it as a headlamp. Used a Klein headlamp for awhile before it and it could get irritating on the head on long hour and hot days. This is mostly irritation free but stays better with hats than just on my head.
“I wear a hat to keep stuff out of my hair, and so I don’t have to do my hair.” -Me over here wishing I just HAD hair lol But in all seriousness, I have a snap on one and I love it. *Edit: The snap on ones as far as I’ve seen have considerably better battery life than the EZ RED/ Matco ones. Charge time is about 4 hours
I have Snap-On's version and I zip tied the thing to my hat 😂 it works well on my neck while I'm creeping underneath semis and doing oil changes in the pit. Personally they aren't too great where you need the light to be fairly level with your eyes for when you need to see through a tight space. Other than that I wear them all day and take them home to charge since our tool boxes aren't able to be connected to power where they're stored off-shift.
I have couple of the mac tools hats with the leds under the brim. They work great. I have 1 at work. And another at home that i take camping so i can keep hands free while doing stuff in the dark
Me and the other guy I work with that have one both wear ours upside down when we are working over our head. That's the only time I wear mine for the most part. They angle further up when they are upside down, certainly worth the 37 bucks.
I'm a school bus mechanic. We do a lot of work on our backs using creepers. The neck nights are really good in my opinion for those purposes. Other time I need light I usually just use my cyclops lights or my flashlight
I bought the EZ Red one, might be made by them as well…nice option to have, but don’t use them a lot but handy sometimes. I paid $23 for the AA version, rechargeable ones are $40-45 or so.
I have a big neck like you and find the neck light to be a lot better than the head lamp. It moves as I do and I have grown used to wearing it. Excellent vid!
I have 2 cheap headlamps that use AAA batteries and although they work great, I HATE that they chew thru batteries so easily. I also carry a Streamlight PT-L with me EVERYWHERE I go. It's small enough to comfortably fit in any pocket, or hold it in my mouth, plus it has a hat clip (which I rarely use because I don't wear hats often). IMO it's the perfect EDC light. It's only about 5 inches long, and just barely thicker than the 18650 lithium battery that it uses. I actually use scavenged cells from a laptop battery and I can easily get 3-4hrs on high.
I have Matco neck light for couple months. 1 side of the light goes faster than the other. Had warranty it once on the truck. But new 1 is doing same thing. I don’t know if anyone else have same problem.
Finger lights man... I'm tellin' ya... Fingers lights. Give them a try. Especially behind dashes. Greasy stuff is a draw back, but clean stuff is great IMO
The snapon necklight is way better in my review. The flashlight heads are thinner, the battery powers both and it’s USB C so it charges very fast. One button turns both on, it’s dimmable like all Snap-on lights, and even on high ive used it for over 5 hours. It’s always on sale in the flyer so wait if you wanna save 20$. I can’t wear it on my head alone because I’ve got a small head 😔 but with a hat on it easily stays snapped in place, and once you get used to a snapon necklight on your head it’s like you have night vision. You can’t and shouldn’t have to live without the ability to have immediate bright light exactly where you’re looking. It’s such a critical feature in the shop! And like I was saying with the snapon necklight, the heads are smaller so I even can use them as quick penlights too look inside the tiny holes of steel rims to do a quick brake life inspection. These matco look like a rebranded ez red, and even though snapon probably did partner with ez red to make theirs, they innovated upon it instead of just changing the logo so they get points for that Oh, and final point on why every one should have this. It keeps your hands free, and also you don’t have to oil up your flashlight touching it during job.
Hi Guys!!! What's a good compact, waterproof flashlight with a magnetic base and decent lumens to attach under a car hood, stand up, or hold in the mouth?
If they would make a flat flashlight that would sell because you could hold it in your mouth easily I hold mine in the mouth and make disposable covers for the mouth light
I use this daily but on my head around my neck looks like my beard has under glow lights hahaha

Almost everybody uses these in my shop. We found they work better on your head. I like it so much I have two.

You need to find a high lumen cigar. Also, your thumbnail on this video made me chuckle. You look cray cray!

I have two of those style and one of the snap on. Love them. I use it as a neck light.

why do you think is better?
How many lights should you own?
How many lights should you use at once
?.
Can you use flood lights with the stand
And have really good lighting?
I use them on my head. Working on fleet trucks at night

i think we need a body-pointing-light tutorial 😄
If you shave off all your hair, the disadvantages of a headlamp disappear. FWIW, nobody needs hair anymore.
mine went in the camping gear box. its much better suited for the woods then the shop
As a tech in an exhaust shop can you explain the clean air act and why catalytic converters are required.

It finally cooled down.
Where you at Atlanta. 🤪
Im in the redneck Riviera.
It cooled down here too.
See ya Wednesday.

I like all of those things you mentioned about the snap on, but the guys at work told me it wasn’t bright enough, so I went with the Matco
I prefer my coast headlamp for me it’s just easier
MFR, not orange tool? GREEN TOOL? Is the world about to end? Great review Mike!
I got it for Freddy flatrates get up😉
I prefer a headlamp. I do use a neck lamp to fish into certain places.
I wear it on my head. I like mine
No. I Have 2 Stingers & a Stylus. A couple other lights i Use occationally. 2 Plug in Matco under the hood lights
Hate to tell you but Snap-on is better due to the removable portion and magnetic base it’s a neck lamp and a work light in one
What kind of battery tester do you have

Check out the Streamlight Wedge . Unfortunately, I don’t own one so I can’t tell you if it’s any good.
Looks cool
Mike, my comment is missing again.
... i put it in at 5:30 a.m.
C.s.t. ...whats going on?
ill take a head lamp over that paper weight any day
I never use my Snap On neck light🤦♂️
Send it to me 😅
@@joiion913 😉
Love mine but can't get rid of the habit of shoving my pen light in my mouth😂
The matco one is made by ezred
That’s why I have lights in all shapes and sizes. I can’t do headlamps or neck lights. I buy good lights and I have a bunch of cheap Amazon lights
I like’em tight too
That was a waste of $100 for me
👁 luv u
