I think it’s a great idea to have an area like this. I have severe back pain and would really benefit from this as sitting down longer than a few minutes really hurts me.

If you’ve ever been in Friday prayer or even know what Friday prayer is, you would realize that this idea would be REVOLUTIONARY.
Its for elderly people who have back, leg, or any other health issue its beautiful because even tho they are sick they still try and keep their relationship close with Allah its also for some people who have problems (like and amputated leg or something) its wonderful.
But this should be the last thing invested on, make it only if you have money leftover after giving Charity.

Also when someone is praying he can just put the thing in front of him and anyone can go.
This is not unnecessary by any means but actually a very helpful concept for those who are elderly or have back pain that makes praying standing up difficult. Just because the amenity is available doesn’t meant everyone has to use it. Those who are capable of praying normally can still do so with the foldable element.

I had a really old brother next to me during Taraweeh. He struggled to sit with his legs crossed while the Imam spoke. I love this idea. Also I find my self lying down belly down whilst reading the Quran because all the wall space is taken. Those mini chairs are a great ideas as well subhanallah

This is the definition of discussing a problem that doesn't exist.
Sometimes when elderly or disabled people come to pray in the mosque, they don’t always have enough chairs. For example; Friday prayer is the day when a lot of people come to pray and sometimes it is packed and there isn’t enough chairs to support everybody. And for the storage space it is useful as sometimes kids come and mess up the whole mosque area and kick glasses, phones, etc.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with accommodating the people. Especially the elderly. We are Muslims, so we should want these amazing upgrades to the masjids.

I think it’s good because people who are disabled or old can sit down while salah and the wall thingy behind them when they we sitting is also good because if ur praying and then you just finished you might walk past the others that are behind you but the wall will protect it from breaking their salah or making sins
Edit: and for the part where you put the phones it’s safer so that way if you put it infront of you the person also INFRONT might step on it and last thing you still could give it to charity to help the poor aswell but it’s also very useful for all of these reasons

Salaam brother. When the prophet was sick, he also prayed on a chair. It is an authentic way to pray for those who are weaker and are unable to pray because of illness. As communities age, more older people have trouble praying without chairs because of illnesses like arthritis. This is to help those people in need, which is why people have the option of putting the chair down or using it if needed.
I think the compartment to kept your things in is good because when your in sujood your things won’t be touching you and the the part where you can pull up the chat is good because some masjids are struggling with having enough chairs for people who can’t stand in salah but everything else is pointless

Very helpful to people with mobility issues or any other disability.
The storage under the mat is actually so smart especially when in Ramadan because when there passing out chocolate or stuff u can just put it under the mat instead of ur purse (PLS LIKE!)

But it is a waste of money considering it happens in 1 month out of 12 and only after Maghrib prayer. It is not like people will be passing chocolate every Friday. Just during Ramadan. We can learn to deal with these issues. This stuff is NOT essential. Not to mention the money can be donated to Islamic charities. Think about it. We are coming up with random issues while other people in the world are dealing with the REAL issues. I'm not trying to sound dramatic, but if this method is applied to every mosque in 10y, it will be a huge waste.

2) Storing phones and other valuables under neath the prayer mat would be beneficial as it would not interfere with your prayer but keep your items (and shoes) safe

I'm very ill and I was at the mosque on Friday but I couldn't find a chair to sit on as all of them were taken. I had to sit on the floor amongst people standing next to me . This is a good initiative. It will solve the problem and also free up space. Do dua for me Insha'Allah I get better. Ameen

I think this is actually a good idea. When I was pregnant I was in delicate health and could not pray the normal way so I had to pray on a chair and I would have issues finding chairs when praying outside of my home.

As our Prophet SAW said that any place of Allah's worship should be kept simple and clean
It's usually those who don't practice Islam well tend to pass judgment on others. Chairs in the masjid are absolutely necessary for those in need (elderly, pregnant, disabled).
i think this is a good idea as it means the elderly can sit if they need to, whilst praying or doing any act of ibadah like dhikr or listening to a lecture. placing the phones in the little compartment is also a good idea as it could potentially lessen distractions and increase your khushu. the back rester i can kind of agree is unneccesary but if being comfortable can help increase you in any sort of ibadah, then im all for it. inshaalah, with the right intention donating to something of this sort could be a sadaqah jariyah.

My mom struggles with her back pain she can’t pray without a chair and she needs something to support her back when she is sitting so in my opinion this is great and ppl will be more motivated to go to the mosque after seeing the functionalities !!❤

As someone with a knee injury.. easy access to a chair when I need it is really helpful. I also know others who are older with knee troubles and a chair really does help. Some days if my knee is not doing well, it is difficult for me to get fully back up from sajood-I do try but even physiotherapist recommends I take it easy at those times. الحمد لله. Things that assist elderly and those with injury or need to sit.. this is a good thing. Assistance shouldn’t be considered lazy when it’s clear the intent is for those who really need it. It saves a lot of space and those who require it don’t have to try and carry their own chair..
The carpet chairs: those can be good for elderly and disabled people
The carpet thing that looks like a chair to sit down:good for people who get their backs hurt due to sitting a lot
The safe under the carpet: good due to the kids/babies who sometimes try to get to the back while prayer time so they don’t stomp it

I'm so incredibly short that I struggle to reach the floor ,the pain of that coupled with balance issues just makes salah impossible at times. I use a scooped chair and a fold out seat for my feet and do dry wipe thing but with water instead of wudu (because it's the limit of my abilities and mostly my abilities are less than that).
For me who often travelling and carry many thing this locker system below sajjadah is very useful

I like this design, a private area to store ur belongings somewhere near and safe while ur praying, chairs to help the elderly, and just a good design. Tho it causes laziness it definitely is a very good and helpful design!
I don't think it causes laziness! the chairs are very helpful for those who need it (elderly, amputees, or people who struggle with pain and can't do all the movements in salah)
the back rest doesn't seem as necessary, but it's understandable and nice if it's a part of the design, as it helps prevent back pain from when you're reading the Quran. it would also save space for people who teach Quran in the masjid, where instead of having a table or chairs, you can just pull them up, and when it's time for Salah, you can put them back down
personally for me when I would learn the Quran at a masjid when I was young, I would just find a wall and rest my back there.
I genuinely don't see how any of this would cause laziness though. it's absolutely great to support building new masjids, but if you can have the funds to make something like that, it would be better and more helpful for people.

It is really nice to provide chairs in all Mosques/Prayer Centers so the elderly and those who are injured can join in. I do agree though that for everyone else we should just pray normally. The whole point of prayer (what I think at least) is to put ourselves in those awkward and humiliating positions in front of our Lord to show we are so insignificant compared to Him, being our Creator.

We have chairs in the back of our mosque in case somebody with problems comes usually it's the elderly.
I hear ur point but at the same time it brings more comfort in the mosque and I could see it bringing in more brothers for prayers

But men and women are separated from praying because when one prays you should touch shoulders with the person next to you and for a guy and a woman to touch shoulders is unholy during prayer and prayer is the when you should really connect to god not touching or being next to the opposite gender

The compartment is useful for things to store so it doesn't get stolen. It's very helpful
Personally, I think its a great idea to have a place where you can hide you personal belongings. I have heard so many news where people steals in front of someone who is praying in mosque.
No one has said this is how a mosque will look like in 30 years. Someone got bored and made that short 3D clip. There will always be regular chairs which can be moved around as needed.

The chair is a great idea. I see many elderly people at the mosque and mosques often have to set out chair for them. Also it would allow for events to occur in the prayer room like when special guests come to speak.

If I were to donate to have a mosque with that carpet, I would get rewards for everytime someone has prayed on it and help elderly, the disabled and the crippled even if I'm dead I would still get it until Akhirat inshaallah.
i would agree because its helpful for older people and any other people because a lot of people lean forward when sitting down and ruin their posture and if their is a built in wall on the prayer mats then people can lean their backs and don't have to lean forward
