- Watch as we use salvage parts from a donor Chevy Silverado to build budget spindles for our Jeep J10 off road Race Truck that we are preparing for the Baja 1000 using LS engine power, King shocks, FK bearings, and parts from a Silverado 2500HD.
Hello and welcome to the NTD Racing Channel. My name is Dave. I'm your average engineer with not so average ambitions. I'm looking to fulfill one of my life goals which is to build an amazing off road race truck, take it 95 miles south to Ensenada, Mexico and compete in the world's most prestigious off road race. You're watching "The Journey to the Baja 1000". In this episode we start the fabrication of the spindles. Watch as we show you how we take a concept, put it to CAD, cut it using our favorite tools and weld it up.

your channel is gold!
Not sure if you did this or not, but a pro tip to some of the other novices (myself included) when welding caliper mounts is to pressurize the brake lines while you weld. This centers the caliper on the rotor so that you get even wear of your brake pads and rotors. Overall you are doing a top notch job! Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming!
Can you pressurize them with air or do you have to use fluid?
Just use air. There will be no mess
That's what I thought. Thanks!
Your tig welds are looking great.
Thanks. I have not done a complete after race inspection yet, but so far it looks like there were no weld failures.
Bro thank you so much for making these videos
Awesome video. Like the advertisement for Sipapu too. Ski Free!
I wish you would let us know where your drawing are in the link below. I haven’t found them yet?
look at the bloody size of them caliper brackets good gosh, those are only dual piston
Hey buddy! Your tip on removing mill scale worked great. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Keep up the great content.
dude been waiting ages for this :) lol, when's the next one?
Soon. Working on the edit now. Thanks.
Did you make the welding jig table or what type is it?
