Thank you brother.I've been out quite a while, I'm getting old and ain't no damn way I'm going to run that hard. I needed to hear that. Thank you take it easy.
I'm glad for this video. I cannot imagine paying for fuel and a truck note on a W2 salary when you're a lease-Op. The actual take home must be close to nothing.
Good for you brother for leaving! You're much more valuable as a step deck/flatbed driver anyway, than a trash hauler! (lettuce driver) Let the dry van drivers bump docks for crummy pay.
I might hire on but get this I've been off the road since 01 and now I'm told my 12 yrs otr is no good lol and have to start over, but ya know what for some reason the road started calling me and after alot of thought that's it I'm coming back truck school whatever I don't care I still feel it I honestly feel like I won't have missed a beat my only issue will be learning this new 70 hr rule the driving I will nail it I still feel it,I will be as cautious as ever and safety safety, safety .CRAP let's go I'm tired of waiting talk to all my neighbors later C'MON.😎💪
I’m driving for Ryder Logistics.. weekends off and holidays! Minimum is $1475 per wk. it’s not all stars and rockets though, $15.10 per hour for every hour I’m in the truck. It’s team dedicated route, California to Texas.. all benefits and I guess I’m going to stay here! Looks like I’m make 97k this year, it’s easy job and well it’s the weekends that has me here for as long as I can. Keep a eye out for positions from Ryder Logistics in your area.
Yea you gotta Send It when u run Reefer and doesn't help when the Truck only does 66 so you gotta Bribe someone to Turn your speed up, and Lease doesn't work anymore with Fuel prices and def
The thing i dont understand is the lease option. The walk away your batter off. Being a company driver or a lease to own. Would be better. Then your not throwing out money for a truck you dont have or own
They absolutely make you pay for it. They told me at orientation it would be deducted. As for a negative review, the video was my review. This company was not for me. Never once said anything negative towards them. I simply found out that this particular company lease purchase was not for me.
70 hours a week for $1000 take home. 1900 a week. guaranteed-900 in fuel after all expenses as a lease Purchase is stupid. plus trips to hunts point NYC. with 5 drops in the boroughs. don't waste your time, the math doesn't add up at orientation. you'll never see that money. You've been warned. Pretty truck = petty paycheck. Got my 1099. says I made 40k cash for 4 months work. That's a lie. Said I had no expenses. That's a lie. i.e. you do all the work, they take all the profit and deductions then leave you with the taxes on gross to pay. These people are a joke.
Is there any talk of temporary shut down? Is outside pressure a factor? I think ethics and drive are above average and closer to the top at Hurricane Express than almost all other companies. I would love to hear comments to keep my own faith high.
They got youtuber lieing that they pay great pay is terrible I left they didn't give my maintenance fees back I'm actually taking them to court because they did me dirty
I just left 2 weeks ago and I have been trying to get my last 2 settlements and when I ask someone at the company about it they give me the run around and does not give me a straight answer. They did lie about everything that i was told before and I am thinking I may have to get a lawyer involved on my issue. What do you think?
Each person is different. If you feel you have been duped bad enough then go for it. The 90 day trial is specifically a rental. No monies will apply to your truck when you get it after the 90 day.
@@rollingretreat I thought like everyone else has about hurricane express and the thing is they did not tell me everything until the last day of orientation about you will not get a settlement for 3 whole weeks and that is how they catch you in a trap and once you start running for them you do not know if you will ever get your final settlement. How long did it take for you to get your final settlement from that company?
They told me that it would be a guaranteed $2000 per week take home. My first paycheck was not $2000. I decided at that time do not get any further yes it did not work for me. They also will assign the truck to you for the first 90 days.
@@rollingretreat Thank you for the info. I’ve been looking into them. But I agree, if they don’t pay what they say there’s no point. Honestly 2000 is low to go into NYC.
You are correct. I didn’t really need the 1400. I was expecting 2000. I did everything they sent for dispatch and didn’t take any days off or home. But yet by the time I got my first check of 1400 I had already had an advance of 1400. So I was even at that point which I believed I should have been in the black. So it started there.
That’s a good question. I did everything they asked. Delivered early. Always available for dispatch. That was the amount I made. They deducted 1$ for the lease payment. They charge daily rates for the APU and insurance. Bobtail etc. i bought fuel at the cheapest places I could find. I thought that was the whole purpose of getting the guarantee to get started for the 90 days. So there was no reason I could see for not getting it.
@@rollingretreat Ok Im Asking because I'm thinking about going over but I'm leaving a great job maybe they were taking out for advances or hotel car rental?
Ok I get it now it's 2000 flat but you still have to pay for the fixed cost witch I calculated it's about $300 a week correct? Bur did they pay for fuel ? And only a 1.00 truck Payment
It’s a lease purchase. I paid for fuel in the refer unit also. I drove my own vehicle and paid my own hotel bill. They guaranteed that I would bring home after deductions the $2000. The first check that was shy I decided to bail. I didn’t want other lies to come forward. It’s not for everyone and there are drivers there that love it. Just not for me.
@@rollingretreat yeah that don't seem right over here at Marten my minimum pay is 1400 gross but I usually gross average 1700 and I only run Phoenix to Dallas or Laredo than back
@@rollingretreat wow your like a marine. " ALWAYS EARNED NEVER GIVEN". Noone should envy hurricane drivers. Yall are doing hard work and rewarded nicely. I didn't like the first video I saw about the company that the owner was in. He looks like the Fonz with long hair - lol but I watched another video he did and I thought wow if he really feels the way he says he does about his drivers, then he's an amazing guy and the company is an amazing company. I bashed him for parking on the scale with that beautiful green Pete and spread axle trailer to see of he would take my bait- lol but he never did 😂😂. I think it must be a great company for the right drivers.
Always have a lawyer go over the fine print and yes from what I read the 90 days is in a leased to see if it works out for you to do the lease to own I would of waited to see if it was better to run the lease to own they told me that you have an option and if that don't work there is always being a company driver too
Well I was trying to be optimistic about buying a decent truck reasonable. But you are correct. I was doomed before I started. Only one fuel tank on the truck and the king pin shoved up against the cab with a fixed fifth wheel with a speed governor set at 65 pretty much helped me with my decision as well.
It might have. I know that I didn’t get the 2k like I was told and I drew the line. I know that this company might work for some. Just didn’t work for me.

Thanks for the intel!
I live just down the road from they’re drop yard in Hubbard Ohio. Drivers are always ditching trucks and quitting
Keep your head up dude it gets better 💯

Yes they gotta be stupid to but fuel for the reefer unit when it is not their uni
They don’t pay because they are too busy putting Christmas lights all over their trucks.
Good for you brother for leaving! You're much more valuable as a step deck/flatbed driver anyway, than a trash hauler! (lettuce driver)
Let the dry van drivers bump docks for crummy pay.
And when construction booms end. Flatbedders beg for loads.
Meanwhile, us reefer drivers don't have problems because everyone has to eat.

Funky music selection- kinda thought a porn was going down
Just read ad and says 1700 or 2 take out taxes .if dollar lease should make 5,000 week not driver pay
They make you pay for orientation hotel Damn that’s crazy

That’s precisely why I left when I did. Very early into the game. Went back to a company truck and quite satisfied plus have benefits.
Hurricane is nice see the in west Texas
You can pretty close to that as a company driver. I don’t really see the point. Trucks are very nice though.
People will drive nice equipment to make less money for the looks. Pretty don’t make money
Ps the 389 isnt a gernantee per week is what they told me
They told me the 2000.00 was the minimum before your stuff is taken out weekly?
