As spaniard, I was really happy to see Cannavaro in the final with the cup. I feel a brothership with Italy and I felt so SO happy when we both won the world cup one after the other. Best countries in the world.

I'll never forget the moment Iniesta scored that goal. We were in a packed bar in Venice Beach, California. Half of us were rooting for Spain, the other half, for Netherlands. When he scored that goal there was an eruption in the bar unlike anything I have ever seen watching a sports match. My ears were ringing afterwards.

That Spain team was something else, Prime 29 year old Casillas and prime 24 years old Ramos at RB and prime 23 year old Pique and Veteran 32 year old Puyol along with Veteran 32 year old Capdevila at LB, 2 great CDM 28 year old Alonso pair with 21 year old Busquets was a wall to break through. 30 year old Xavi playing as CM was unbelievable. 26 year old Iniesta as attacking Right and 22 year old Pedro as attacking left was unstoppable with 28 year old Villa as a goal machine during that tournament. It was nice to see them play. We begin to realize what an incredible generation that was, difficult to repeat something like this. The discreet results do not reveal the enormous superiority that Spain had. It had a bench that many national teams would have wanted as a starter. It will go down in history as one of the best if not the best national team ever.
