Elise was Beethoven’s student that he had a crush on, he made it easy from the start because of the love he had for her but when he asked her out she had already had a boyfriend and out of anger he made the the song much much harder so she won’t ever know how to play the song that was made for her.

This is a perfect representation of Beethoven's earlier character, a man consumed with anger for the loss of something essential to his passion(his hearing). Its brilliant in helping to bring out the emotion he must have felt, being so engulfed in his creation yet unable to hear it for himself. This is a genius rendition of the original which has a whole different impact. Both versions I feel are true to the character of the man.

Yeah, I used to think it was so impressive when someone played it, but it's simple two handed playing. The left hand is just playing two different three note broken chords in the first few measures. The rest follows along.

Fun fact: The song is thought to be written for Therese, however Beethoven's handwriting was misspelt undergoing transcription, allowing the piece to be known as Fur Elise rather than Fur Therese.
