great anaylsis of vices. its just a shame weiland doesn't get alot of credit within the underground but people who have been in the underground know how influential he has been
I feel like he gets his credit as far as how influential he has been in the underground but the fans just don't respect the shift he's made and wanna clown on him 4 it
Eaxctly because I think vices is album of the year and I have listened to a lot of other new albums like fallen raven x man and others but honestly I’d still put Vices at number one album of the year and not just for the growth weiland has displayed but because it took an emotions I didn’t know I had and did something to them and it’s weiland . 10/10 constantly listen too and also cause I was an avid 80’s listener I really listen to all music I love music like Japanese city pop, lil candy paint, indie stuff alot of leaked stuff like carti, hyper pop, glitch core and plugnb. What I’m trying to say is that I love listening to music and so far out of the 19 years I’ve been alive Vices is the best body of work I’ve had the pleasure of hearing . #PACKRUNNER
fire doc my g! been a huge fan of Weiland since 2017 and its been really crazy to see what a mysterious notoriety he's gotten in the underground in recent years despite being an early adopter of the plugg/pluggnb sound. he's had amazing growth since 2018-2019 and im really interested to see how he builds off the release of Vices, another synthpop album would be dope but any of the other genres he's teased in the past would be too. the 80's vibes seemed to really resonate with him though.
It's cool to see a documentary on Weiland. I remember when he dropped Blue Bands in 2015 and thinking to myself that I hope he keeps making music. Random story - In 2017, I was taking an art class in college, and for the final I had to visit 10 different art galleries and write a page on each one. I was in downtown Phoenix, in the art's district, and was able to walk between galleries pretty effortlessly, so I visited all 10 in 1 night. I had headphones in and I remember having Packrunner on repeat for most of the night. I always re-listen to Packrunner because of the way it takes me back to that night of being completely inspired and immersed in a world of paintings and sculptures. It's just such a nostalgic album for that reason. Visiting art galleries is a fun past-time for me now, and Weiland's music always crosses my mind when I do. Good job on this documentary bro.
thx, and Yeah for me that album is Grimey Youth, it's not just the scene as a whole but the time in my life, it makes me a little sad that it'll never return knowing it's over. I was so young when it was going on.
Vices is literally one of the best albums made by a modern artist in the last few years. It’s so genuine. I’m sick of all this bullshit music with no meaning I was so happy when I first heard vices. haven’t been that happy about new music like that since 2018. hope he keeps it up. Love u weiland.
This is what I’ve always wanted of a video doc. Simple, yet so complex. Amazing job. Never seen anyone cover weilands true feelings and hardships throughout his shifts in persona with such ease, hope to see more work soon
You are very educated & surprised me with a side/style of music I was not aware you even knew about. I subbed to your channel about a month ago , been watching your recent drops but Im going threw your earlier vids tonight , really great work!
my favorite documentary, I'm so glad I started listening to weiland I didnt even know I listened to him back in 2018 when I first found his song Affection off grimey youth but I'm so glad I started to get into him a lot more best decision of my life
Really good video. My favorite from packrunner was probably Painless, and some of his other snippets from back then were great. Used to talk to Dom Chan a bit he was pretty cool, don’t know if they still talk or not but he’s been ghost for a while at least from what i remember on Instagram. I remember some of his other marketing stunts like faking the arrest, although he did get arrested for real back in 2018. He has a finsta too with tons of gems but most were deleted back a year or so ago when he accepted 1k+ into the account. There’s some pretty deep lore, like the dash cam of him flipping his car while off oxys back in 2016 he posted. You did a great job explaining a ton of his background. It’s really great to see him blowing up naturally after growing up a bit, it’s been a long time coming. Great job.
This was a fantastic overview of this. I knew him back in 2017, just posted a reaction video to this with some references that I had of videos from the night of one of his performances! He was close to my homies that were making plug music in Tampa and they all knew and grew up w/ Weiland, we did a pop up shop with my clothes at a underground show in Tampa, you actually posted some pics of that exact night in 2:02
🤖🌞weiland definitely a legend!!! & been listening to him since he was recently surfacing on (SoundCloud & RUclips). but the biggest thing that was dope asf when he hooked up Yeat with his presents I seen the interview where yeat said that and I was blown away but non the less hoping nothing but amazing things for him in the future & will continue to see his progression as I have the past couple of years!!🌞🤖
you should make a doc vid with like a timeline of all the hinoni drama. ive been a fan for a while but ive never found a solid story on exactly how hinoni fell apart just a bunch of random events listed as reasons why it happened. would be awesome to see
It might just be my own take here but I consider hellcat to be a final send off to his plug sound although it’s sad to think of it that way it’s fitting and what a damn good way to go out it was
I’m sorry but what did he do exactly? Besides giving Yeat his presets. I don’t get what Packrunner (2017) did that SoundCloud music in 2013 wasn’t already doing Edit: I’m open to the fact I could be missing something about the guy. But artists in 2012-13 pioneered today’s sound. Not people in 2017 riding the wave
