I have the speed engineering headers and full 3" exhaust system. Had for 5 months now. I love them as far as I can tell, no cracks. I wrapped the headers to keep out engine bay heat. I get told all the time how good my car sounds!
Had Speed Engineering on mine for about a year and no cracks or anything and my car sounds amazing . I will admit people will go with what brands they truly love and there’s nothing wrong with that 🙏🏽
Mannn that’s good to hear because I heard mixed things about them but if you got 2 sets back to back without any issues that’s a win for the price and hp To be honest,
Dope video! I didn't know there were so many headers at so many different price ranges. Now I need to know how headers will benefit me and how much louder my car will be. Also catted vs no cats
Yessir! They increase sound by 20% and HP a bit like 10-15HP. Catted vs Cats is minimal at the end of the day they do the samething its just what you comfortable with
Just installed speed engineering's full system and you cant beat it for the money. $730 bucks for a x-pipe and 1 7/8th headers. American racing is my favorite brand but its $2,000 more for the same results. I couldn't justify spending extra for them. Top performance shops want you to use the most expensive stuff since they usually have deals with them and only like to dyno similar build cars. At least this is my experience in South Florida.
Ayyyee that’s what’s I’m talking about! I knew some had good experiences with them. I already had my set before trying them out but I’m glad you got them to workout especially getting a x pipe included with that’s a steal
@@BLUPRINT1LE yesssir, all has been well so far. I drive 5 hours to school from home constantly and the car is my daily. If any problem come up I’ll share. I went ahead and subbed, great to see good content!
I’m about to make the jump and get a set of headers soon. This was a great video and came in clutch for me. I have a 2017 2SS with a few bolt ons already. I’ve got a RotoFab CAI, a ported throttle body coupled with a Silver Bullet spacer, and an MBRP catback exhaust. Can’t wait to see what adding headers to this set up is gonna be like.
@@BLUPRINT1LE do the longtube/high flow cats replace both the primary and secondary cats or just the primaries? I’m back and forth between long tubes and shorties because of the cats. I’m in a non CARB state in the south anyway. Just curious.
@ the long tubes/high flows replace the primary’s cat. The aftermarket catback replaces the secondaries. You could go with shorties but it worth getting long tubes in the end
@@BLUPRINT1LE I’ll go Kooks longtubes & high flow cats then. However, I’m gonna order a ported LT2 from GPI first. I like the idea of completing the intake side of things prior to the exhaust headers, since the intake manifold is the only missing thing left for me up there. I think the headers will compliment my set up a bit more with a full aftermarket air intake system. I appreciate your advice and taking the time to respond.
What would you recommend for a camaro with mbrp axleback and factory x pipe? I care more about sound than performance. I want it to still sound deep, not too raspy/hollow. Also does the diameter affect the sound?
If you want a deep sound you would have to go with an H pipe system (MRT but the don’t sell mid pipes) but since you already have the Axleback you can go with corsa x pipe or xforce non resonated mid pipe and 3in diameter increases airflow and sound
@@VoodooTNO if you’re on a budget speed engineering 1-7/8 headers with 3in pipe which is standard in all headers or if you want to pay extra and get it ceramic coat done at the same from the same factory, to keep engine temps down go with Kooks/ARH. One of my close friends have Speed Eng with MBRP exhaust and it sounds good.
Rephrasing my question. A CARB Legal headers+xpipe, cold air intake, msd manifold, throttle body (if all exists), the expenses would be around $5-6K. In my opinion, It would be better to save and just get a CARB Legal ProCharger kit and be done with it. Am I missing something on why owners will not go this direction?
Add the cam and it may definitely cost more than the Procharger kit. With my 2022 SS after the warranty, I may just install a Procharger and be done with it. Those FBO prices are crazy high!!
Yeah but adding boost to the top of the piston isn't necessarily as reliable of an idea with stock LT1 pistons/rods... and adds more downtime in general. Where as with NA especially if you can do the work yourself...it's 550-600 rwhp all day. No belts. No relocations. Easier to hide.
I need my RUclips gang to find the #short that I posted today. It's my little brother's birthday, please leave a birthday wish for him there. I'd really appreciate it.
