Thank you soooo much!! One question though what if the number was only two digits? Because that question is in my book and I’m kinda confused, TY SMM !!!
Easier way to test divisibility by 8. Examine the last 3 digits. If the hundreds digit is even, the number obtained by the last 2 digits must be divisible by 8 (00, 08, 16, 24 ... 96) If the hundreds digit is odd, the number obtained by the last 2 digits must be divisible by 4, but not 8 (04, 12, 20). In other words, the if the hundreds digit is odd, the number obtained by the last 2 digits with 4 added to or subtracted from it must be divisible by 8. Consider the number 20736 How is 736 divisible by 8? 7 is odd 36 is divisible by 4. 36 + 4 = 40 = 8 * 5 36 - 4 = 32 = 8 * 4 36 is not divisible by 8, and 7 is odd. 736 is divisible by 8, thus 20736 is also.
Checking whether the last 3 digits divisible by 8 is not an easy task. There is another comparatively easier way. Check whether the 3rd digit from right is even or odd 1. If it is even then the whole number is divisible by 8 if last 2 digits are divisible by 8 2. If it is odd then subtract (or add) 4 to the last 2 digits. If it is divisible by 8 then the whole number is divisible by 8
cause in question 2 last 2 digits were odd and even 78 and u said it was wrong but the rest it was correct cause the last 2 digits were even i feel like I'm right?🤔
@@ALEXANDERROCKLIEDEVERA Wrong. If last 3 digits are 0, it is divisible by 8. Zero IS divisible by ANY number. "When dividing zero by any number, the result is zero, with no remainder. Thus, by the definition of divisibility, zero is divisible by everything." or you can also think of it as smallest number with three 000 is 1000. 1000 / 8 = 125 any larger number with three 000 is just going to be a multiple of 1000.
Also a number is a multiple of 8 if the 100s digit is even and the last 2 digits are a multiple of 8 or if the 100s digit is odd and the last 2 digits are a multiple of 4 and an odd number
If the hundreds digit is odd the last two digits must be divisible by 4 but they can't be divisible by 8. If the hundreds digit is even the last two digits must be divisible by 8. 124 is not divisible by 8. 624 is divisible by 8.
Easier: h=hundreds, t=tens, u=units, "htu" is divisible by 8 if 4h+2t+u is divisible by 8. Example: 544 --> 4x5+2x4+1x4 = 32, which is divisible by 8, so 544 is divisible by 8.
This took too long. The faster method is that the factors of 8 are 2 and 4. Use those two rules and you’ll have each problem done in less than 10 seconds.
There is a simpler method to divide by 8. With the last three digits, divide by 2. Divide by 2 again. Finally the last time. If you are unable to divide by 2 three times, it isn't divisible by 8. (If it only works twice, it is divisible by 4.)

Consider the number 20736
How is 736 divisible by 8?
7 is odd
36 is divisible by 4.
36 + 4 = 40 = 8 * 5
36 - 4 = 32 = 8 * 4
36 is not divisible by 8, and 7 is odd. 736 is divisible by 8, thus 20736 is also.
What if 3 last digits are all 0?
@@RuiTachibana2020 0 + 8 = 8
Then the number is divisible by 8

When the last three digits are 0 does that still count as divisible by 8?
No because it has to have a number like 435,048

1:54 HOW DID YOU GET THE 72 THAT KS WHAT CONFUSES ME
If the number is 124 it first number was hundred then how we can solve💓
If the hundreds digit is odd the last two digits must be divisible by 4 but they can't be divisible by 8.
If the hundreds digit is even the last two digits must be divisible by 8.
124 is not divisible by 8.
624 is divisible by 8.
