Interesting thing I tried on a 22 ex250f. If you unplug the switch the last setting is retained. So if you unplug while set to map 2 it stays in map 2.
You have to rev it to make power. Map 2 is a little better but mostly up top. It doesn’t help the bottom end any. I did try a 52t sprocket and that helped a little.
@@mattwindell1638 damnit, not the answer I was looking for, I just want that bottom end power so I can carry 3rd a little easier, it is very hard to ride track right now as the power is
Although I have not ridden it the mx version looks to have better gear ratios for tight hare scrambles unless you need to cruise at high speed. If you want a lot of bottom end right off idle you need a 250/300 2 stroke or an older 4 stroke. I rode the ex250f in 2nd a lot and I really felt the vibration in my hands. I did figure out that too much air filter oil makes it pull 3rd a lot worse.
Good info. I bought the map switch for my 22 MC 450 before I had it on the dirt. There is a huge difference between map 1 and 2. I don't use map 1 at all really. The Akrapovic slip on and a no toil 2 stroke Air filter cage, she is really fast.
That’s great to know. I’ve own my 2005 ec300 for 2 years and heard about the mapping but now just starting to understand. Definitely going to buy that switch and test that out.
I don’t about defaulting to map 1 on a Gasgas. How would they perform detuned when tested for reviews and shoot outs. Maybe, because I don’t notice much difference on my 2022 EX350F. Mind you I only rode it for an hour break in before adding the map switch. Map 2 is a little more aggressive but definitely not night and day. It’s really hard to tell any difference. A small change in exhaust note but popping the front wheel is super easy on either map. Traction control is definitely good.
Just bought a GGec300 as you said no map switch, but I am an older man at 60 years old and it came in what I believe is map two which is the faster one and if you remove the gas tank and unplug the wire it goes to the more tame mapping which was good for me.
Before I ask my questions, I apologize if you possibly mentioned the map switch and its characteristics are for 4T specifically. ? My friend has a SX-F(?) with the same switch you referred to in your video. Also, your video title doesn’t mention Husky, but you refer to Husky’s in the video. My 22’ TX 300i switch is visibility different. My manual reads on page 17, section 6.5 , “Map switch in position I - The ignition timing map PERFORMANCE is active in this position. Map switch position II - The ignition timing map SOFT is active in this position” Based on your video and my 2T manual, the timing characteristics are opposite. Is this true? Do you have any info on my 2T mapping and tuning using the two maps?
Any idea if this is the same for the 17's as well? Want to remove the map switch, I only ride the bike with map 2 and TC off. If what your saying is true then I should just unplug it
Can you switch between maps and turn the traction control on and off when you're riding/, or do you need to stop the bike select a map and then ride again?

did you notice a difference?? I have a 2022 ex 250f and I just do not think it has enough power at all, let me know your thoughts.

@@mattwindell1638 i wonder if it has anything to do with the ecu mapping on the bike, there’s just an obvious dip in power on the ex250f
Thanks for the information. I had a map switch installed when I purchased my 22 Gas Gas MC350. I keep it in map 2 with traction control on.
Thank you mate!

I absolutely agree with you!

Just bought a 2019 ktm450xcf and it doesn’t have the switch. Seems the previous owner might’ve pulled it off before the new handlebars.

Dang it, wish I would have seen this sooner!! Answered all my questions!!
Thanks Franz!
Thanks for clearing that up!

This video only applies to four strokes!

DOES TC WORKS ON A GASGAS ?

Change on the fly!
