I learn so much about what to look for from this type of video. The Heritage dishes were a great find. Our few stores have a few nice things now and then but our area is also very rural.
How exciting! 😍 You have your little helper trained very well! Love, love the plater from Portugal! You never know what you'll find in this thrift store.♥️ 📦
Sarah I believe little plate that you keep calling a tea plate is a saucer by the tea cup. They round circle in the middle of the plate keeps the cup from sliding around. Not being able to see it in person, I am not sure. But I think that’s what that is. It is a saucer for the tea cup or coffee cup.
Hi Sarah, This is Chuck, the guy with the red shirt at the restored thrift store today. I’ve enjoyed watching a couple of your videos today. You have a great eye for quality vintage items. Perhaps my wife and I will bump into you sometime at one of the thrift stores or estate sales. Take care. I look forward to watching some more of your other videos. 😀
I’m starting on an Ironstone obsession and I just found this video of yours, so naturally I’m getting dressed frantically to head to the antique store to find more iron stone lol I can’t believe the scores you got!
Oh my goodness I would have danced up a storm. I was so excited to find the large iron platter and a medium size one. I have also found a casserole bowl with the lid. Gorgeous. I have 7 grandchildren and have collected 7 different sets of dishes for them. Crazy Daisy, Golden Butterfly, Ironstone and several others. One dish at a time
LOVELY...LOVELY...LOVELY AND LUCKY !! I have a Soup Taurine made in Portugal and love it ! Love that dish set. Maybe little by little you will no more mugs , etc that go with that! Yes, I have a certain style mug I drink my coffee in and I’m like you, I like them thick. Funny...I can’t drink out of an aluminum cup/ glass... and I can’t have a travel mug with a metal top..🤷♀️. Some people don’t eat certain food because of consistency, texture, and clothing, etc... I’m that way with my CUPS ! LOL!! I’m so excited for YOU!!! ❤️❤️🇺🇸❤️❤️
Lucky you!. I think the one one platter is Pfaltzgraff which was established in 1811. This is information from their website. For over 200 years the Pfaltzgraff brand has been associated with the highest quality ceramic products available for the home. The company grew from a modest-size pottery shop that produced simple earthenware, salt-glazed stoneware crocks and even flower pots into one of the best known designers and marketers of dinnerware, drinkware, ceramic accessories, giftware and other products. Several Pfaltzgraff patterns are among the best-loved dinnerware designs in America, including Yorktowne, Folk Art, Naturewood and Pistoulet.
Great hall. I loved iron stone had a ton of it but went to Corelle ware because of the weight of iron stone. I am older and its easier to use corelle ware.
I believe the pattern you have purchased is called "Heritage White" by Johnson Brothers. It's approx $12-13.00 per setting, (cup and saucer), depending on mkt value.. Lucky find! It's beautiful!! Enjoy!
Your thrift store is very good. Better than mine. Mine only has sales on clothes (of which they have tons) and never on anything else, much less everything.
I am a new ironstone collector any tips and do you use the plates and platers for food sorry I not trying to ask a lot of questions lol those are stunning pieces you have and I love your channel and videos
This is why I only thrift alone (or with my daughter). I know what I like and I don't want someone else telling me to get it or not get it, and giving their opinion. Plus, I can go at my speed, fast or slow, and not get held up or rushed.
The Pfaltzcraff platter is a classic from the 60s when brides stopped picking Bone China sets for wedding gifts. Another very popular brand imported from England was Redcliff Ironstone. My mother and Aunts had full sets with beautiful scalloped, oval, etc serving bowls tureen, gravey boats... probably no less than a 100 pieces each. They were everyday dishes that seldom chipped, and were beautiful enough for parties. You should research ironstone so your eye will be trained to spot them.
I dearly love thrifting too. And I loved the dishes- so pretty!! But I do have a dumb question ( I am new in the talk / hunting ironstone) what is the big deal of Ironstone , Johnson Bros etc? Thanks!!
Debbie, not a dumb question at all🤍 I am still learning, I don’t know a lot either. It’s an old, beautiful dish that at times has crazing, ( brown veins ) on it 🤍 I prefer white ironstone 🤍
The platter is pfaltzcraft. It is ironstone. It's the heritage collection. You were lucky to get that whole set. Andrea from Pine and Prospect collects it. She can give u more info on it. Hope that helps you
The large platter is made by Pfaltzgraff. Typically the older Pfaltzgraff pieces have the makers mark incised on the bottom of the piece like on your platter. Not sure the date of your piece or what the pattern name is. The Pfaltzgraff company was started by Johann George Pfaltzgraff in Germany but he came to the US in the early 1800s. Hope that helps! I really enjoy your channel :) Have a blessed week!
English ironstone really is the only China that looks good crazed. Just aged to perfection. Ironstone in most cases is not marked ironstone, it’s marked with the manufacturer stamps.
"Okay, ladies, I'm back." Just wondering why you assume you have only female viewers. I'm a fellow ironstone lover. Beautiful finds and a great haul! Love your style! FYI - The American English pronunciation of Pfaltzgraff sounds like "faultsgraph".
Copied from Google website: How to Identify Ironstone. If you're lucky, it will be labeled as ironstone in the hallmark, usually stamped on the bottom of a piece. It might also say "stoneware". Many pieces, though, are not marked specifically as ironstone or they aren't marked at all."
The platter is Heritage Pfaltzgraff. Older pieces have an imprint of a castle on the bottom. They are ironstone also I am pretty sure. ☺️
I’ll have to go look now 🤍👏🏻🥰
I enjoyed so much watching your daughter find your ironstone! What a awesome helper!
She really is 🥰👏🏻
And that’s right, Pfaltzgraff!
What a find!
I love the Pfaltzgraff platter and the large pitcher!!
Beautiful!
The Pfaltzgraff is hugely popular here!

It’s Phalzgraff! Great deal! I think that Julie at Thrilled Thrifter scored that same set awhile back!
Awesome. 🤍🥰👏🏻
The large platter is Pfaltzgraff, contemporary. I collect old ironstone, and it is not always marked.
🤍👏🏻
I am a new ironstone collector any tips and do you use the plates and platers for food sorry I not trying to ask a lot of questions lol those are stunning pieces you have and I love your channel and videos

Pfalzgraft? Good brand on platter. Great thrift haul find. 👌
Isela, thank you 🥰
I love that ironstone! Such a beautiful pattern! Will you use it, or just display it?
Both 🥰🤍
What does Ironstone feel like. I did find something from Johnson Brothers because I remembered its ironstone!
It’s hard to describe, I just know by feeling it if that makes sense 🤍🥰
Pfaltzgraff was made in the U.S... Johnson Brothers England.
Thank you, Gail, for letting me know 🥰

I Love all the history I can learn about dishes or anything 🤍👏🏻🥰
I went thrifting today and did not find anything quite so good. I’ll keep trying
❤️
Tea cup and saucer.
🥰
I am shocked that you have never heard of Pfaltzgraff. It too has a Heritage pattern with 12 sides.
Maybe I had , and I just forgot 😅🥰
“Tea plates”, known as saucers, that go under the cup.
Thank you 🤍🥰
English ironstone really is the only China that looks good crazed. Just aged to perfection. Ironstone in most cases is not marked ironstone, it’s marked with the manufacturer stamps.
Thanks for the info.😍👏🏻
"Okay, ladies, I'm back." Just wondering why you assume you have only female viewers.
I'm a fellow ironstone lover. Beautiful finds and a great haul! Love your style!
FYI - The American English pronunciation of Pfaltzgraff sounds like "faultsgraph".
🥰
Vintage Pfaltzgraff is made in USA. The newer in made in China and not as nice.
Thanks 👏🏻🤍🥰
No plates??
Pfaltzgraff
Yes, thank you 🤍
They're saucers, not Tea plates
🥰
That's Pfaltzgraff. Very collectable but not Ironstone
Thank you 🤍
