agree and disagree. This guy have tremendous potential but right now, one thing i would say is that his throws do not carry enough power. The ball is not getting there fast enough.
Idk why people are so sold on him.. All i saw here is a guy running backwards and losing yards then over throwing/under throwing alot of balls.. Then his receivers making a great play
watch he is gonna be just like aaron rodgers by learning for a few years under a more seasoned qb ( russle wilson ) and then he is gonna get his opportunity to shine and he is gonna be elite. I would hate to see his talent be wasted as a 2nd string
At first i was kinda mad that he went to the seahawks then i realized that they saw his potential so they are gonna develop him and then they can make a trade
+Righteous Kung Fu I never said dethroned I said if Russ got hurt this season and they say he is out for the season that's the time boykin could play , TBH I dont think boykin is gonna stay he might do what tyrod Taylor did and go start on another team cause trevone has a perfect mentality and skill to run his own team of course he might have a lot to work on but that's my opinion
he played a much different system in college and now coming into the pro style, id say he's learning pretty well. the pick 6 i think was him just rushing and not taking time to make his reads. locking into your receiver is never a good thing. it will all come with time, and learning under russell will expedite that process i think. overall i'd say his performance thus far is pretty good.
some people say boykin didn't do well in this game. I think his performance showed the coaching staff why they brought him here. he has play making abilities. he needs to just improve his accuracy and tough decision situations. he's the perfect backup qb for seattle if he can do that. in a few years he might be the answer if Russell isn't (can't afford, injury, etc)
He and Dak are the two steals of the draft. I Thought the God was making the switch to wide receiver -- or maybe db -- though...? Thankfully he didn't, and is getting a legit opportunity at playing QB.
That good coaching right there, that's TCU offense, quick throws, rolls outs coach the player to his strengths. I watch Boykin when was a freshman wide receiver at TCU. He has improved so much as a QB, a pocket packet, he is not there yet. Spreading the field with his quick release and strong arm, you can make a living and pay your bills with that skill. The great one still are able to stand in there make some throws, especially when you have bodies flying all around you. Last year over the last 8 games Russell Wilson had just about as good of a 8 game stretch, 25 TD's and 3 ints. During those 8 games only Cam Newton put up better numbers, throwing 25 TDs and 1 ints. Last year NFL live did a segment on how Russell Wilson improved from the pocket in the second half of the season. My eye If you can do both I am sure it's a plus.
In crunch time, he can't take a sack there. He should've thrown that ball away to stop the clock. That is an experience thing that he will definitely learn through film.
+Kyle Garrett yeah if he could get a better oline he could be a elite I would haters for him to be wasted because the Seahawks can't get a better oline
As a Seahawks fan, I can easily see the Hawks keeping six or seven receivers. McAvoy has shown these two games how big of a mismatch his size creates, and he has a nice set of wheels to boot, and Kenny Lawyer has been in the right places at the right time, and then there's Kasen Williams and Kevin Smith who the staff are really high on, so it's hard that one of them won't make it on the 53 man roster, the other would probably get on the Practice Squad.
I don't think Kenny Lawler is making the mix for the active roster. He can't catch if anyone is near him. This is his second game with 2, or more drops. I'd dump him in the next cut.
+Jerad Benge you also gotta consider he's a rookie. And he's been making so many good catches in practice, and Pete and John do tend to look at the upside of a player. As it stands right now: Doug, Kearse, Lockett, and Richardson are all locks, McAvoy is probable, and between Lawyer, Williams, and Smith for that last spot, but I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow managed to fit 7 into the final roster.
treyvon is gnna learn alot from pete carrol n russel wilson huge steal hes got huge potential upside hes the future qb for seattle hes an arm n vary slick movement n can run like wilson
Is it bad that I'm more sold on Boykin as a starter in this league than Goff and Wentz? He's criminally underrated, better than Lynch and maybe Prescott too.
he needs to learn that sometimes he should just throw the ball away he did it the first time but every other time he took a big sack that screwed up the drive
Boykin would have looked way better if some of his receivers would catch the ball, and also if the receivers wouldn't have been held or pushed half of the time either. It seemed like Vikings were holding or causing a pass interference every other play on this video. But Boykin looks really nice, I have to say. He can be a good QB behind Russell really soon coming from a Dallas fan.
ThreeHowling Wolves He hasnt played in 2 years and is trying to be the starter on a new team. Different situation than Bradford. Plus RG3 brings views and clicks, Bradford doesnt.
And he can't outrun all the d-linemen and linebackers while scrambling. Too me a couple bad sacks by trying to make something out of nothing. Nonetheless, he's very talented, could be groomed into a solid QB by gaining experience behind Wilson.
I really dig Trevone he can learn from Russ n eventually get released into a teams starting role maybe the Seahawks cus Russ married n he get messed up frm her
Lol wow. Dude I know he's a starter for the viqueens, it's just that he plays like a back up qb. Even shaun hill looked better yesterday than bridgewater did all season last year. Cmon 14tds?
dude has bad decision making skills but he is very elusive and athletic needs accuracy improvement and with time maybe in 5 years I can see him taking over for Wilson
People are way to hyped on this guy. All i watched here is a guy over throwing or under throwing every pass while the receivers would make an amazing play. He trys to scramble to much and runs backwards then gets sacked..he needs to learn or else he will be a career backup, theres a reason why hes undrafted...
It was Oklahoma State. One bad game doesn't define him. There were questions as well about his height and certain other abilities, such as accuracy since Josh Doctson always seemed to be jumping high for the ball.
Wow the receivers didn't help him at at. I think he did pretty good.
True they had good looks but end up dropping it but half of the time they did have good coverage on em
Yup, the game winning pick 6 was awesome, against 3rd and 4th stringers no less.

agree and disagree.
This guy have tremendous potential but right now, one thing i would say is that his throws do not carry enough power. The ball is not getting there fast enough.
+Peezster lmfao stfu let's see u play in preseason. in the NFL first year 😂😭
TOUCHE!!!
Who's here after he got a 3yr sentence? 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
So much talent.
Zachary Ray Lewis wasted 😔
He should be getting put soon
Dam Boykin looked impressive! Well done sir sell done! Keeps playing like that and he will be a starter for some team within a year or two
Tcu baby
Idk why people are so sold on him.. All i saw here is a guy running backwards and losing yards then over throwing/under throwing alot of balls.. Then his receivers making a great play
That's because you don't understand what you are watching!!!!
It’s preseason he’s playing other back ups
If he hadn't scratched up his girlfriend he'd still be in the NFL tbh
I swear he is a diamond in the rough!
I'm a niners fan but I do wish the best for Boykin loved him in TCU (from a TCU fan)
Thats my Tcu QB!!!
Mines too
watch he is gonna be just like aaron rodgers by learning for a few years under a more seasoned qb ( russle wilson ) and then he is gonna get his opportunity to shine and he is gonna be elite. I would hate to see his talent be wasted as a 2nd string
*Russell
That will happen, in a couple of years some teams will try to trade for him to be a starter qb, and that would propably work out for the seahawks too
At first i was kinda mad that he went to the seahawks then i realized that they saw his potential so they are gonna develop him and then they can make a trade
Chris paul#3 Gurley#30 LA aaron rodgers spent a few years learning under brett farve and developing his talent thats why im making the comparison
Tyrod Taylor 2.0
he has so much potential
I'm happy for him... this man was a beast at TCU
The pick six will be what shows up on most highlight reels but he seems to already have a nice command of the offense
Give him a year or two behind Wilson and he's gonna be a god
im saying
LMAO
I wouldnt say a god, hes exactly like tyrod taylor
Sure as long as they are against 3rd stringers.
But Wilson is not good....
Boykins gonna shock all of y'all this season if he gets play time, i promise you.
He wont get any, He will sit behind russel wilson until the seahawks think the can get someone 4 him.
+Righteous Kung Fu never know Russ could get hurt and out for the season then it's trevone's time to shock the world
No way a young superbowl winning qb is getting dethroned that ez, unless its a career ending injury.
+santiago nocella oh ok.
He has that Will to Win, even with just a preseason game. Amazing
He plays good, but Vikings secondary was rly putting the pressure on the receivers. Great game.
He's got MAD potential!
he played a much different system in college and now coming into the pro style, id say he's learning pretty well. the pick 6 i think was him just rushing and not taking time to make his reads. locking into your receiver is never a good thing. it will all come with time, and learning under russell will expedite that process i think. overall i'd say his performance thus far is pretty good.
he's a steal for the seahawks
a HUGE steal
Yeah, he'll be terrific as long as he plays against 3rd and 4th stringers
it's preseason against backups n 3rd strings lmao he wasn't a draft steal if he didn't get drafted
+Peezster lol
some people say boykin didn't do well in this game. I think his performance showed the coaching staff why they brought him here. he has play making abilities. he needs to just improve his accuracy and tough decision situations. he's the perfect backup qb for seattle if he can do that. in a few years he might be the answer if Russell isn't (can't afford, injury, etc)
I like this guy, he has the spirit of seahawks!
Boykin is lowkey better than every qb that was drafted in the 2016 draft
Lol no..... Not better than Dak Prescott
Erica B. you just might be right i almost forgot about him
He and Dak are the two steals of the draft. I Thought the God was making the switch to wide receiver -- or maybe db -- though...? Thankfully he didn't, and is getting a legit opportunity at playing QB.
Pete (and company) sure know how to find a steal.
Best rookie qb ive seen so far this preseason.
Last year NFL live did a segment on how Russell Wilson improved from the pocket in the second half of the season. My eye If you can do both I am sure it's a plus.
Looks like he's a good fit in that offense, the crowd was really into it 3rd & 4th quarter.
So many big name college players on this team.
Boykin, Vannett, Lawler, McEvoy
he solid as a back up frfr. i was always routing for him in college
he looks very confident when he plays
He looks pretty good just gotta be more willing to throw it away and/or not drop back as far when he's passing
Should have been the top draft pick this year.
He did good, his WR's can't catch
this guy is LEGIT
In crunch time, he can't take a sack there. He should've thrown that ball away to stop the clock. That is an experience thing that he will definitely learn through film.
KID IS GOING TO BE GREAT
I can see his nfl career being similar to tyrod taylors.
I hope not I want him to stay in Seattle.
Okay_Then But you guys already have Russell Wilson. You shouldn't want to waste his career being a backup.
+YRN GLo Ik but still.
Boykin could start on 10+ teams
He's a taller less accurate version of Russell Wilson
Exactly, just as elusive and just as good evading pressure. He just needs to work on his throwing
It's hard to be accurate with an entire d line in your face
+Kyle Garrett yeah if he could get a better oline he could be a elite I would haters for him to be wasted because the Seahawks can't get a better oline
My personal opinion. Vick had the best form.
Isn't that cam newton
Why can't the starting Oline play like the backups?
Because the back ups play a back defense
Imagine what the starters would do to that defense
They're not doing good either
the starters dint do that bad... it was bad call plays by bevell, the blitz was so obvious, seahawks kept getting out numbered in their own turff
Man, he looks really good maybe if the online can hold up a Lil more he'll be more explosive
As a Seahawks fan, I hope Russell gets injured and Boykin has to play for him. Boykin has a LOT of potential. He is starting QB material
Nfl is gonna upload "Blair Walsh misses field goal in eerily similar fashion"
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Looking like a stud.

+Teren Kowatsch keep in mind that our runningbacks are prone to injuries so they will try to have as many rbs as possible
I'm saying it now.... He's gonna develop into something special behind Wilson he looks like Vick only thing he needs to work is accuracy
He plays like me in Madden always scrambling for no reason
Minus the pick 6 he actually did pretty well.
My boy boykin
Very impressive!!
Look for big things from Antoine Goodley this season for the Seahawks..
Lmao, When Boykin and Prescott are making better throws and showing more athletic ability than the QBs teams handed out futures to get.
it's so weird to see Boykin throwing to Antwan Goodley.
they got this guy undrafted right?
No
yea
very raw
He really looks good
That Seahawks o-line needs to get better tho
He needs to throw the damn ball away sometimes, but stuff like that, he will learn. I like him
treyvon is gnna learn alot from pete carrol n russel wilson huge steal hes got huge potential upside hes the future qb for seattle hes an arm n vary slick movement n can run like wilson
he is the future what the hell no way ... wilson is already the future qb, boykin is trying to earn the backup spot to him
Now he in prison
dam he is doing great
Boykins need to go ahead & hop on that plane to Minnesota!
#Starter
he's the backup for sure
This dude is so good the team just needs to get used to him
Is it bad that I'm more sold on Boykin as a starter in this league than Goff and Wentz? He's criminally underrated, better than Lynch and maybe Prescott too.
He's not better than ZAK!!!!
I wish the o line showed that they atleast want to block for more than 1 second
Boykin > Bridgewater
Yea bridgewater sucks, boykin has way more talent
+Galad Van kleef "Bridgewater sucks"...ok kid
What that makes Carr then? lol
Carr didn't look good against GBs 2nd string D and there defense couldn't stop GB 2nd string offense wonder what happened there 🤔🤔
+Daboss king you stupid lmao
Pretty good for a backup too bad he gone now
Is it just me or was that move at the 1:00 mark almost identical to what Russell put on last years Viking defensive end in the playoffs?
Met him here at career day
he looked better then russ have a good feeling about this kid.
You're joking right?
CptVonSwaggerNaut did u not watch the games?
+Rey gotta see him vs the pros
Prime Time Yup but i doubt he'll get a chance to. Russ is still too young to bench him.
Prime Time maybe once russ's contract is over
Takes too many sacks but can be impressive at times.
TCU nation where ya at?
TCU!!!! & RAIDERS HERE!!!!!!!!!! RAIDERNATION!!!!!
Impressive
This guy is great but he needs to hold the ball a bit longer
he needs to learn that sometimes he should just throw the ball away he did it the first time but every other time he took a big sack that screwed up the drive
is it just me or did any one notice how the Seahawks got all these college studs/ great players. lawler, vannett, boykins, prosise, ect.
Antwann goodley
That's because they are geniuses at drafting players!
Boykin would have looked way better if some of his receivers would catch the ball, and also if the receivers wouldn't have been held or pushed half of the time either. It seemed like Vikings were holding or causing a pass interference every other play on this video. But Boykin looks really nice, I have to say. He can be a good QB behind Russell really soon coming from a Dallas fan.
true
I have a feeling the 49ers are going to be trying to get this guy from the sea hawks because he ran the spread offense at TCU
As a Seahawks fan I'd like that,
No need for his talent to be wasted at a #2 spot.
+Hazardous Zen there's no way they give him up unless the niners blew them away. He's a great backup in case Wilson gets hurt
The offensive line isn't just bad it's embarrassing
Just wait he will be good his receivers need to help him out more
oh ok nfl... you can upload every trevone boykin but can't upload every bradford throw!?
Since when do they upload a veteran, possible starter QB's preseason highlights?
+soldseperately Every RGIII Throw From Week 2
ThreeHowling Wolves He hasnt played in 2 years and is trying to be the starter on a new team. Different situation than Bradford. Plus RG3 brings views and clicks, Bradford doesnt.
I actually met Trayvon boykin personally
This dude still gots a lot of work to do this ain't college buddy those throws and 50 pts don't come easy in the NFL
And he can't outrun all the d-linemen and linebackers while scrambling. Too me a couple bad sacks by trying to make something out of nothing. Nonetheless, he's very talented, could be groomed into a solid QB by gaining experience behind Wilson.
+Larry Morgan took*
He is a future STAR!
is this the kid from TCU that got arrested?
Yep, you are correct. People are wishing he was in the mix for their team (well the ones that really need a qb). Who knows, might end up being good
Yes he's a monster he probably could have been drafted if he never got arrested
1:38 DK Metcalf can't haul it in!!!!!!
russel wilson 2.0? or better kapernick?
I really dig Trevone he can learn from Russ n eventually get released into a teams starting role maybe the Seahawks cus Russ married n he get messed up frm her
Goat
Mccaron, Prescott, Boykin, Garapollo, best backups in the league lol
you forgot bridgewater
+Kou Vang wait what
+Kou Vang teddy is not a backup idiot
cardale is good
Lol wow. Dude I know he's a starter for the viqueens, it's just that he plays like a back up qb. Even shaun hill looked better yesterday than bridgewater did all season last year. Cmon 14tds?
So an athletic QB can beat 3rd stringers in preseason, how amazing.
iT'S NOT AMAZING...YOU JUST DON'T HAVE ANY TALENT IN EVALUATING QUARTERBACKS...THIS KID COULD START SOMEWHERE RIGHT NOW!!!!
I think thats tyrod taylor in that jersey
@0:59 Russell Wilson doesn't have that degree of elusiveness to his game.
He did that same move to a Viking last year 😂
RUSSELL WILSON IS THE MOST ELUSIVE QUARTERBACK IN THE GAME....ARE YOU BLIND, NUTS, OR JUST A VERBOSE MORON?????
0:58 OMG
Is it me... Or does he scream RGIII (when he was solid)
0:58 that ain't no throw
they didn't say that the would only show his throws
+Coleman C yes it said in the title all throws
+Coleman C yes that's what the title of the video is
+Corey Durham they didn't say they would only show throws just that they would show all of them
+New Zealand aviation Spotter It said every Trevone Boykin throw but that doesn't mean every play is gonna be a throw.
You dont need to make no more highlight videos cuz it was a lot of incompletions in here
Idk if you can read but the title says EVERY Trevone Boykin throw so yea I’m sure there would be incompletions in the video 🤔🤔
next vick?
I knew his little brother we stayed in the same apartment
dude has bad decision making skills but he is very elusive and athletic needs accuracy improvement and with time maybe in 5 years I can see him taking over for Wilson
People are way to hyped on this guy. All i watched here is a guy over throwing or under throwing every pass while the receivers would make an amazing play. He trys to scramble to much and runs backwards then gets sacked..he needs to learn or else he will be a career backup, theres a reason why hes undrafted...
YEAH...THE OTHER GM'S WERE AS BLIND AS YOU!!!
Wilson Jr?
It's preseason.
I agree, and I am Cardinals fan.
+Travis K. Rams all day!
wait so why did he go undrafted? if I'm correct wasn't he a Heisman candidate a year ago?
TCU right?
+23dlc ya
I think he was in a assault case and that's what hurt his chance at the time I'm guessing
besides the arrest, not many predicted him to be drafted high. I've seen mocks that had him in the 6th-7th rounds.
It was Oklahoma State. One bad game doesn't define him. There were questions as well about his height and certain other abilities, such as accuracy since Josh Doctson always seemed to be jumping high for the ball.
