These Men, who have no connection to Anna other than being her Dad's co-workers, love her. Look how free she is with them. No worries, no sick sister, no controlling Mother. She's just Anna. Anna Fitzgerald - The beloved daughter of a fellow fireman. She's their buddy, their sidekick, maybe even their lucky mascot and charm. She's their family. And that thought makes me both happy and incredibly sad
I totally love this scene. All the firemen love Anna and she loves them. And her dad also loves her. He does understand her yet he doesn't how to back her up. And Anna is right. She exist out of necessity. Not out of love.
Up to this point, Brian has been so used to letting his wife overrule him and get her way in everything that he doesn't know how to do anything else. I'm frankly amazed that he let it get this far before finally withdrawing his support, but I do like how he never blamed Anna for the situation... he blamed himself and Sara, which is squarely where the blame lies. At least he wasn't so wrapped up in himself that he didn't care what anyone else wanted and thought nothing of making his child a donor slave, unlike Sara.
Looks like a big dinner of some type. My brother-in-law is a firefighter and sometimes they would all gather at one of the bigger for a special supper like this.

The guilt is finally coming to him. He’s done forcing her to do these things for Kate and holding her down
such a cute scene and when your coworkers are more like family than coworkers!! love it
She right when she says if wasn't sick I wouldn't be here
I like this part at the fire station. The fire fighters where treating her like she was family to them.
As a fireman's daughter, I love this scene.
