You are correct, don't over complicate things, we need to be comfortable with hours on the bike more than trying to train like the pros, but most of all enjoy it because if you don't enjoy it you won't do it.

I did bwr AZ and all I can say is it was more of a mtb race and I chose the wrong tires....that being said it was still amazing 🤩 good luck!
Thanks for the vid dude. Appreciate your cycling advice- it’s by far my weakest discipline in tri and I think you have it dialed to just go and bang out big days. I gained fitness pretty quickly early on by just hitting hours of erg mode on the trainer but it’s definitely not very helpful for the hills in the real world
Of course dude! And yes, trainer days will certainly give you some quick fitness as it’s efficient but you need those longer days outside to really get strong.

Love the videos but if I heard you correctly you think you burn 1100 cal / hr ? Won’t bore you with the deets but to do that you’d have to avg 300w / hr. That’d be super impressive.
Strava must estimate wrong. Although my normalized is usually around 290
@@AlecMerlino general equation for calories is (seconds * minutes * power )/1000 so per hr 60 s * 60 m * 300 = 1080000/1000=1080 cals / hr.

2. I think this is solid advice but it assumes unlimited time to spend. Tons of folks work full time+ and want to know how to make gains without being on the bike for 25 hours a week. Would be helpful to hear your POV!
