Hope you tackle the two booster boxes and some deckbuilding in another one of these. I'm a big fan of the generic space where you can create and imagine your own story. The heroes in Star Wars winding up in oddball situations never quite felt right to me, so I always ran go-wide jank like stormtrooper and corvette spam. Catching up with this series has been great!
Threshold was also included for another reason. It prevents people from just playing the best cards from all five factions. Threshold keeps you to one or two factions when deck-building.

I always felt the big trick LCG's missed was embracing formats - Netrunner became wildly out of control, but all they needed to do was have a 'Legacy' format and a 'standard' format, then you don't have to succumb to power creep the whole time. I know they did this later on but it was very late in the day.
Also you are totally correct on limited. Draft is SO GOOD in MtG - its just so much fun and so addictive, but they never cracked that in the LCGs.
In retrospect I think Netrunner is the game it worked best in as the game itself was so good and so evocative. R for Netrunner!
these Throwback Thursdays are great!! either awesome nostalgia or a real life learn to play, watching the game, mistakes, chat correcting, etc... is far more helpful than any rulebook could be
I picked up a couple of boxes of this at my local discount store this weekend and went from not even being aware of this game to thinking it's maybe one of the best extinct card games and lamenting its passing. Thanks for having a gameplay video of this up; now I'm checking out other videos in this series (including the Star Wars Decipher CCG that I had some of back in the 90s but never really played).
Decipher should get "The Expanse" license and make a card game

never heard of this game till now! thanks guys! one of the issues I had with SWCCG was that every card seemed to have its own set of rules text. a little too scatterbrained for me
This was one of my favorite ccg's. I liked it more than the Star Wars ccg it is based on.
Can actually understand that. It has an equal allure.
Do you guys think you’ll revisit this? Is it good enough to play over SWCCG?

Damaged units CAN use their defense to satisfy attrition. Under the "attrition step" instructions.

They did release RPG materials for the D20 OGL, a player book, setting book and an adventure.
And yeah WARS CCG is a better version of Star Wars CCG.
This is great fun and has totally got me hooked into the game! Any chance of a series? Now to try and get some without atrocious shipping costs to AU.

@@teamcovenant Would be great! I've just started your SWCCG series, but I think I like Wars more because it's a new IP and the card designs look a little more modern. New to both games, so love and appreciate your efforts on both.

I feel the game is better than SWCCG. A few of the problems with SW was changed for the better in WARS. The Problem is there is only 2 sets. Now with dead ccgs going for big money. Wars has held a lower price. This is most likey due to the lack of cards and the unknown IP.

You can leave energy in the activated pile.
Don't you add+1 energy for yourself after you add up the energy from the sites? You did that in SWCCG.
They caught the error at around the 18 min mark

Did you ever find out whether locations cards are supposed to applies to both players or only the player it belongs to?
edit: Ah I guess it applies to the player it belongs to, as locations that allow both players to do something explicitly state it.
