My figure came in yesterday and holy hell... the model kit version in which you have to put together piece by piece managed to have better transformation mechanism than its DX counterpart. I had to watch the video multiple times to transform it properly.
I just got the modelkit (Draken & Siegfried), but kinda disappointed of how bandai being lazy now. The model kit version of Messiah from Macross Fontier are much more better than these two (in term of transformation method accuracy, the process still as hell as like any other :D). Siefried and Draken 3 need to swap and remove/attaching parts during transformation. I can understand if the landing gear stuff need to be swapped, but Siegfried and Draken 3 is the worst. Bandai is being lazy, or they intended that way so the DX version will have a better selling point to a transformation method accuracy junkie like me...
This is a very complicated transformation so I apologize for any instances where my hands get in the way or if I didn't spend enough time on a spot that's fighting you. The video review should be up in a day or two... this toy proved far more time-consuming than I ever expected.
THANK YOU!!! so much for doing this. I never transform any of my Valks without going through your transformation videos step by step pausing along the way. I appreciate your efforts immensely.
YES! Been waiting for this one. I guess you won the pre-order battle. Also, while the guide says to keep the gun, you can take it off for the sake of convenience (unless you're a perfect transformation fan).
Thank you so so so much for this guide scorched earth dude, i was completely dumbfounded looking at the manual when it came to the arm mechanism in gerwalk
Bought it when it came out.....But only just decided to transform it (6 months later....).Took me around two hours...with 1:30h spent on that one part alone! No fun AT ALL!!! Worse part was how to fold up the wings properly when getting into Battroid...Thought I was doing it wrong as it truly felt like something would snap if I pushed up on those wings. In the end, as I was about to smash the f'ing thing against the wall, had enough, just forced up the bloody wings. It worked....Don't get that kind of 1mm clearance on that whole folding backpack part (actually on the whole VF...). Everything else was fairly straightforward . Crazy engineering, Complete nightmare. On the plus side...It looks amazing, and supa' posable, not your typical DX. Not sure what Bandai is doing with the other SV releases...Hopefully revisiting the mold slightly? (unlikely, but who knows...) Don't think it sold that well either....Shame really as it's a truly unique design. But hope they won't release 6 variants and then give us the 'renewal' treatment BS on that one.
Agreed on pretty much all counts. If you transform this thing like 5 or 6 times the parts won't be so incredibly tight and it will flow a bit easier. It's a lot like Alto's VF-171EX in that regard.
Can you clarify something? It looks to me that the shoulder doesn't peg into the body like the 1:72 version, does it just hanging there on the air? It looks like that to me.
Unfortunately, there are numerous spots that could be the problem. I plan to do two additional transformation videos for this toy, on from B to G to F and another from B straight to F. There is a pretty good stream of new releases coming out though so I'm not sure when i'll get to them.
Man I know this video is years old but this transformation is a nightmare. I finally got this figure after waiting for years and I broke the thumb section of one of the basic hands due to it not folding into the cockpit area during transformation. This figure made me also appreciate my DX Chogokin VF-1S even more with how much more solid it felt handling and how much more advanced the basic hands are even if I wind up using the specialized non-transforming hand. Just take the trigger/gun hand off during transformation and treat this toy as a non-perfect transforming figure. The paint alone makes this thing a very frustrating figure to transform as is.
Beautiful piece, but armature-based "Exploding" transformations should be a war crime. I'd gladly settle for parts-forming non-perfect transformations over this.
The windemere maintenance crew must curses everyday as they are doing the maintenance for the 262's transformation mechanism.

Imagine the brain of the man who design this mech,

When I was watching Delta I thought the SV 262 was pretty far away from traditional Valkyrie mold and holy fuck does this video prove that.
Look up Saab draken.
This makes the yf-21 transformation seems easy in comparison
The way this thing looks, what with the paint job and all ... does Bruce Wayne know about this mech? He might want one
Gerwalk looks awesome. I like fighter mode second, not a fan of battroid's look- but I like the weapons storage.
THANK YOU!!! so much for doing this. I never transform any of my Valks without going through your transformation videos step by step pausing along the way. I appreciate your efforts immensely.
Awesome, thanks for the encouragement!
This thing has a ridiculous transformation, i love it

Mechas are the only good thing about Macross Delta... this is gorgeous
99nessuno99 delta maybe shit but the draken iii is a sexy fighter design.
@@lolcatjunior i definitely agreed with you.
Can't agree more.
lol we have to agree to disagree den
I love this design

9:10〜
It's so difficult. Be careful.
a while back i designed a mech like this, but the legs were top and bottom instead of the arms rotated.
The fact is that the plane looks like a real life version of the SAAB j 35 draken
Only Valkyrie I couldnt transform. Luckily, the plane is gorgeous. Cant extend the legs, the piece will not budge.

Muhammad Yunus Ahmad Mazuki the shoulder/base of arm does NOT connect to the torso. I discuss in the review I'm working on, stay tuned.
Is this as difficult as the vf-22/yf-21?
The Intolerant Toy Guy vf-22 is easier, alot less floppy parts during the process.
its been a year since I commented on your vid's (your vf-19 vid)
but where did you get your macross toys
Check around on eBay, amiami, and Mandarake. I got this figure barely used on Mandarake for around 120 bucks.
I have been having a heck of a time getting mine back into jet mode. Can't get it to completely stay together. Any suggestions

SV-262 draken3 is m.k's F-4 Phantom2.

Is this model 1:72 scale?
No, this is the DX toy which is 1/60 scale.
@@ScorchedEarthToys tank you
can you post a 720p one?this quality is low
You should have the option to go to 1080P, maybe it was still processing.
Did you use the water decals or the stickers in this model?
This is not a model, it's the DX toy, all markings come painted on.
What Scale is this? 1/60 Scale?
LEGION OF COLLECTOR'S yes, 1/60
as kool as this is in real life its really stupid cause the maintenance would be hell n the transformation would maje the fighter extremely vulnerable
i was thinking of collecting Dx macross figures, but after watching this, NOPE
Beautiful piece, but armature-based "Exploding" transformations should be a war crime. I'd gladly settle for parts-forming non-perfect transformations over this.
Man, what a weird, complicated, and unintuitive transformation. What was Kawamori-san thinking when designed this?
Way too complicated.
The number isn't pronounced "two sixty two" as one number; it's pronounced digit by digit as "two-six-two". The show makes that very clear.
