- after 2 years, I was giving the green light that Lila and Skye want to join me on cross country trips for long periods at a time. the problem with this? a lot.. because my current rig would never work for that. I have a short time frame to buy, fix, convert, and get ready to hit the road. please make sure to watch and listen to everything so you understand the situation of WHY this is happening (not soon, maybe though) there’s options for sure. box truck, bus, van, bigger truck with a truck camper on the bed, really anything!! as long as it fits all three of us. my budget is VERY small, so please keep that in mind. anyways… please help with ideas and suggestions 🥲 ya girl is stressed. xoxo -becca
The thing that comes to my mind right off the bat is that a van or box truck might not be something that would be all purpose. I am going back to the ice fishing video when you got stuck in the snow. If you have a low profile van or box truck you will for sure get stuck in that situation again. The short bus has real good potential but it will cost extra money to build the inside up to standards...though it is not as low profile as a van or box truck. That means it will handle better terrain situations. Though I am not 100% on its payload for tow. You may have to sacrifice some wants to get most of your needs...its super expensive to by vehicles right now.
You know what you should do is talk to LOJO and the guys at Googan to see if they can help you out in some way. They may even know where a good deal is or maybe they have something to offer that they could work out an easier payment deal in private.

hi Becca ,I have worked with cars for 30 yrs The best option i can recommend to you is the ford transit van , it maintains its value because it's a work van ,parts are cheap. today pick up trucks are more expensive than a van . you can customize as you want ,(i know that mean a lot of work) all recreational vehicles are very expensive and they do not maintain their value and one of the most important thing you need to know is in some neighborhoods are not allowed to park ,all the repair costs are higher ,because unfortunately all rec vehicles are considered "luxury" and that is a big deal.
Have you thought about an ambulance?
I kind of liked the kenai, and the other models but what I began to think about is u need something to have a place for your fishing gear etc. Now I'm confused lolol. Take your time. Write up a list of what you are needing to take a long with you like fishing gear etc. I know u will make the right decision! Love your videos honey❤
this is how i would approach it, if it were me: what is it you REALLY want to do, going forward? if you're going to continue fishing from a boat, the truck is your only option. you can't back a boat down the ramp with any of the other others. you can in some places, but eventually, you'll make yourself sorry. all of the others will also suck for doing mundane things like shopping, or going out on dates, etc. if you are planning on going hard on the camping, with lila and skye, a truck will get old quick. a van would get old too, but less quickly. figure out what your long-term goal is. the other thing is a fact that can't be ignored. the market right now for trucks is tight. getting a good deal will be really hard, although not impossible. just my opinion, (you did ask though) but if it were me, i would put cost aside momentarily and decide what best suits your needs. once you know that, you only have to figure out how to pay for it, and the associated costs of building it out and maintaining everything.
it looks to me like you need to step up your hustle, in order to afford the life upgrade you seek. there's no shame in that, it's the american way. the more sweat equity you invest in something, the more value it has to your life.
whatever you decide, we're all gonna still love you. when you find yourself at a crossroads in life, all the difficulty is on just one side of it. once you get past it, the trepidation fades, and it gets alot easier.

Another option. Yukons (Suburbans, Expeditions, Excursions, etc.) come in 3/4 ton varieties and are less expensive than pick-ups. You can totally build a camping setup in the back and it will tow the tiny house. One concern I have about vans is they won't get you out on the ice in the winter, and some of the other places you like to go.

Becca, my husband and I have been "RVING/Camping" for over 30 years. Presently we own four (4) different styles we use regularly between Georgia, Alabama and Florida.
1. CONVERSION VAN
2. 20FT Airstream camper
3. 32ft Gulfstream Rv towable
4. 40ft Newmar Motorcoach
Are are great and we love them all. That saidand knowing your love of camping on rough roads GROUND CLEARANCES ARE A KEY CONSIDERATION FOR YOU. Some VANS ride low to the ground and not the best for really rough road conditions. Great for parking lots, truck stops, casinos, campgrounds, some forest roads. Now, tow behind campers... Live the little Airstream. Off roads sometimes, the beach, river camps, truck stops, campgrounds. Retail parking lots NOT SO MUCH...NOT stealthy enough. The Gulfstream... campgrounds. 32 ft is just too large a towable RV for most retail parking lot camping. Much more likely to get the 3:00AM knock at the door. All this said, Van's and Motorcoachs are safest. With a motor you can drive away from most dangers from people, animals, and bad weather conditions. HUGE PLUS! They are morelikely to hold their values and less likely to breakdown when maintained well. Class C (Over The Cab) units oftentimes LEAKS and we have heard enough stories about mold that we have steadfastly stayed clear of them for those reasons. Well, there's our experience in a Nutshell. Hope it helps to make something click that's right for you. Again: CAMPING STYLES, ROAD CONDITIONS. SAFETY, MAINTENANCE, WEATHER CONDITIONS and INSURANCE COSTS are your primary factors along with QUALITY OF THE UNIT to consider.

This is all my personal option so take it lightly. There are a TON of “van life” campers on RUclips. While I think the van has endless possibilities, it’s so over done on RUclips. What makes you more unique is the truck. The vans also have limitations on where they can go easily. If you want to go that route I would check out some other channels to see why people do it and what their feelings are on the limitations. The van kinda eliminates the need for the tiny house. Personally I would love to see a new truck with or without an in bed camper. If you did the truck you could remove the camper when not needed to save some on gas. Also you could do a removable bed topper that you can place on with a removable build for solo camping and when money allows get the camper for camping when the whole family goes. I think the truck gives you more versatility. The box truck, while super cool and amazing content to build out, wouldn’t be very practice for daily driving. So long story short, I vote new truck to keep with the vibe you have established and versatility and ease of daily use when not filming and camping. Whatever you choose, I’ll still be along for the ride! You got this girl, don’t let the stress get you down.

@Becca, my wife and I have some ideas for you, that perhaps u didnt think of yet. In the end you guys need to feel right about your decision and we wish you the best of luck, here are the ideas.
1. I think a new truck would be good however instead of getting a car loan with high interest, id get a line of credit. Lines of credit are still a loan however they can be as low as 2% interest. And as u pay them off, if something breaks u can use the line of credit to fix it and then pay it off again.
2. The van idea is nice, and honestly prolly the best for your fur baby. We have 2 of our own and we have a dodge journey for them when we travel so it makes it easier getting in and out.
Although that van is expensive, what about a retired u-haul cargo van. Turn that into the van u looked at. U-hauls are maintained/checked really well and u can reach out to them and see what they might have in a few big cities around u.
3. Check big cities for vehicles. Ive often found smaller towns means they jack up the prices because they can. So try bigger cities within maybe 100 miles. I know its a lot but it can also save you a boat load of money.
4. The box truck, personally i wouldnt do this or the trailer, atleast not right now. Both will be hard finding parking and arent so stealth.
5. Maybe try an old small school bus or even an old fed-ex truck or UPS truck. Heck even an OLD MAIL TRUCK would be great!!! Again these vehicles have regularly scheduled maintenance so u know they will be taken care of; and they have a snaller size which would work for parking and their low for ur fur baby. And u can call different townships/cities to check and see. Id even try outside of the 100 miles for an old mail truck. However I dont know if u want these as your daily drivers. Its a lot to take on.
6. Me personally, id go with a truck with the in bed camper. I say this because you can add posts to drive out from under it . U can still tow your boat behind you with it. The truck will give you the back seat for your fur baby. And the in bed camper is made from aluminum which is lighter then your current tiny house.
7. Have you thought about re-doing your tiny home out of aluminum??? Or just seeing if you can find a bed camper for your current truck??? Again with it being aluminum/metal, it helps keep the weight down a lot and it would be good to be up off the ground so dampness doesnt get in ur fur babys joints.
8. You could always fix up an older camper trailer, just more dated then the one u were looking at. Wood is extremely heavy, so the sheet metal etc will work for you. Dont be nervous avout roofs etc as now they have kits that slide over and fix the entire roof with 1 sheet and some adhesive.
9. You could also try, police auctions and car auctions. You can reach out to your dept and they will let u know when and where these are. Some towns have websites as well.
10. You can also try trailer parks or camp grounds, sometimes they have old campers/trailers they rent and now they are retiring. Also check facebook marketplace as well as on the interent. I find the 100 mile radius has really helped me when we were looking and it saved us over $5,000.
11. Best advice, search 100 miles.
Bigger cities have more vehicles and because of this, i find the price can definitely be negotiated a lot more.
Dont just take their car loan with a high interest rate, shop around, heck even with banks.
Check with a few banks about the line of credit with the lower interest, its how ive always paid mine off quicker.
Before you buy, get the cars info and look up the book value, talk the sales person down. If u truly are interested pay the 50-80 bucks and take it to a mechanic and have it looked over. It'll give u piece of mind and they may say yall will need new tires or brakes or a battery(check the date on it and on the tires) this way u can talk the sales person down when u go back to the lot. They can always drop a price at minimum $1000. Ive talked many down over $5000.
Also and i hate saying this but its so true and its awful that it is, but take a guy with u; especially if the sales person is a man. Male sales pple are awful and and tend to take advantage of female clients. They tend to be jerks, and eitger sell them lemons, or a car that needs a lot of work etc its happened to my wife a ton of times and finally we went some place else, or asked for a female car sales person. At one point i remember looking at one and saying ur talking to me and ignoring my wife and she told u this was her purchase and because of that, we wont be buying from u. So be careful with jerks.
12. Ask yourself, is this ur daily driver? Is the purchase worth the work or the gas? Id write a bigger list of your needs, then go down the list with each vehicle ur looking at. Think about gas, parking, tunnels and bridges, can u tow a boat behind it and still camp in it, can u put solar on it for off grid, is it a daily driver, is it easy to get in and out of for everyone, storage etc
Whatever you choose it will be amazing and i hope you record all of it. My wife and I enjoy ur channel and your adventures. We wish u all the best finding your ideal vehicle. Take care.

I’ve owned trucks my whole life. Two wheel drive, single cabs, extended cabs. Duel wheels you name it.. so my suggestion would be a crew cab 4 door 4x4. Maybe a drop in bed camper. You can take those out when not in use..
Becca! If you’re going to spend the money, get a Full size crew cab. As someone who had a single cab and moved to 4 door I can promise you WILL need the extra space eventually. having more than what you need is better than not enough. Zero compromise. You can always grow into it otherwise you’ll spend MORE buying another new truck down the road.
Just a heads up becca, all those huge vans like that black one, sprinters etc are all classified as a commercial vehicle. Commeracial vehicle insurance is not the same as regular car insurance and it costs ALOT more. Just be aware of that

A K2500 Suburban checks off all the boxes for me. Picked up a used 96 years ago.
General Camping, Stealth Camping, towing a 32 ' trailer. Low enough for Parking Garages, Overlanding.
Easy to convert to a camper and revert back to its original form.
My suburban allows Seating for 5 in a few quick steps, Microwave, Refrigerator, Power stations, Keurig, Remote control lighting, Fans, cooking table with collapsible extension, narrow twin memory foam bed that folds up into a chair, Kayak Racks, Rear tire carrier. I absolutely love it.
I have some RUclips videos on the suburban camping, stealth and wild camping. I didn't post a link for a shameless plug, lol.
I say the van! It's going to be a great addition to your channel for new adventures, upgrades to the current setup and of course so much more room. The van is the right size I think, not too big where it's uncomfortable to squeeze in to places. I know it's stressing! I would be stressed to. Actually I'm in the process of getting a van myself! I actually own a 2011 F150 4x4 4door, I pull my 3500lb travel trailer with it currently. Wish you good luck! Oh! also an Econoline 250 or 350 (E250 / E350) - check the conversion vids on these, get some space to convert and still be able to tow =)
The box truck is a great idea because it has tons of potential, and you can customize it to what you want, yes you take a chance with mileage, but a diseal truck will run forever, it would be an investment over time, but I think that would best suit your needs

Hi Becca I used to have a Yukon xl it was an 04 and there's tons of room and can tow. As a temporary solution you could maybe put racks on your topper and get them cartons to strap on the top then you'll free up space in the backseat and bring a foldable step ladder to climb up n grab what u need till u find a vehicle that'll fit your needs.
I'd love to see something you build out yourself. Start with an empty platform and design it to your needs. You could also get a lot of content out of the build. I think a box truck or bus would be awesome, but a van is probably more practical.
I've been looking at box trucks myself. Busses are also an option for huge space. Either way I would rather build my own interior to suit my needs. I've also looked at a couple passenger transport trucks with the windows. Good luck and don't go too far in debt ! Sometimes its better to get a vehicle and buy an engine if needed, check prices .
I think you should see if you could rent out each of the different options for a night or two to see if they would even be a good fit for you AND gf + sky. Im pretty sure ive seen websites where people rent out their rigs. Also, if you go the van/bus/box van route, might be less expensive to build it out yourself, plus you can customize it for your needs.
My dad sold his truck maybe five years ago and now my parents have a minivan and a hybrid for short trips they can haul the camper behind the minivan just fine for their two to four hour trips away from home. They have another drive on trailer for garbage and stuff like dirt for the yard so they don't get the minivan dirty. It's a drive on trailer that my dad expanded the outside of it so he can put the old pickup truck camper to on it it it's needed. The camper top is held up by ropes in one of his sheds so he just drives under it and lowers it down and bolts it. It's set up so the ramp can go up all the way and it seals the back end off for lawnmowers and such. The only problem is that he longer has a trailer big enough for a tractor to go into but he has plenty of friends that do.
Remember that when looking at a van, how they are built. The van you looked at is usually a front wheel drive non 4 wheel drive vehicle. A box van is usually rear wheel drive that is non 4 wheel drive. This is something to keep in mind considering you live in snow and ice country.
I live in a converted luton (box) truck....love it...😊👍...more space than I need...the over cab compartment has 10,000 uses...all my fishing kit, speargun kit, camping/boat camping kit, boat engine, oars, life jacket, fishing net, cast net, all my carpentry, plumbing, electrical mechanical tools and there is still room for much more

I feel you on these choices and the "endurance" (I don't know what it's called) of the vehicle. I have the se struggles with my little Mitsubishi. If I gave my opinion, I'd vote for the F250 so (1)you'll have more power than needed to tackle hills and (2) you'll have a "regular" vehicle as you transition through life (aka maybe after RUclips).

I love my truck but… I have been looking at the exact same options as you… coming to the exact same conclusions… the trucks I’ve been looking at are crazy expensive the built vans the same.. sooo nice.. but too much for my budget.. a box truck would be so cool! Or even a self built out van . My husband is really liking the idea of a Class C camper… he doesn’t like the Class B because allot of them have the bed right next to the sink…🤓 Good luck with your decision! Becca i love the van idea,truck,or the minibus. I myself would stay away from a used box truck they are abused most of the time by companies that owned them plus the cab is not much room at all and on top of it no windows or ventilation in the box part unless you open the big door and the you would have to come up with a different door to the box part so you dont get locked in.

Alright so here’s what I wanna say about this whole vehicle debacle.
I think the fact that you aren’t under any time constraints or in a major rush is a huge blessing. Having said that, I think you should take whatever time is needed to acquire enough money to get your absolute dream vehicle. If the f250 is going to fulfill all your dreams then go for it, if the camper van is your dream then save up and get that. I think given where you’re at in life, if you settle for something less because it’s cheaper, you’re always gonna be chasing that dream.
I’m also wondering if there’s any way of leveraging your RUclips channel to get a deal on something ? There’s lots of build out companies and channels on RUclips who I would assume could benefit from getting you in one of their rigs ? Maybe you could buy a stock van and get a good sponsor/collab discount on a build out ? Or at the least, get someone to lend you a kitted out van for the weekend to see how you like it, in exchange for promo on your page ? Maybe find a van life RUclipsr that wants to swap and try truck camping for a few nights ? That way you could try before you buy 👍
Also that truck camping removal extension thing, try reaching out to that brand, you’re channel and story would be great marketing for them Im sure 👍

Hi from NJ. I love your videos, adventures, your building skills and everything. I’m one of your “older subscribers” and let me tell you something I’ve learned in life, if you love something don’t change it. You said numerous of times how much you love truck camping and my opinion is stay with it. BUT I also understand you want a change and there is nothing wrong with that either so my suggestion is rent a van camper and see if you really like it. To me, personally, the C-class campers is not camping but they are very nice for places that you stay at for long periods of time not just a day or two. I thank you for asking asking us what we think but reality the choice is yours and yours alone.
Hi Becca We love your videos! We’re sorta living vicariously through them. Did lots of camping and fishing in our younger age. We’re now almost 70ty working on our bucket list with a newer Ram 1500 4x4 towing a 20’ trailer. It’s great for us it has everything an old couple needs. But we can’t really get into the backwoods with the trailer. I know 4x4 van are expensive. Watching your videos I don’t think you’d be happy with a box truck they do have lots of room but getting into backcountry would be tough really tough. Big is not always better!!!

I like the box truck it carries a lot of space inside that you can design a tiny house in there, tow your really tiny house w/no problem and change the color of your choice.
Over the years I have purchased 3 vehicles from Hertz "off lease" car sales and Enterprise Car Sales (the leasing, rental company) and always gotten great price and in past being only 1-2 years old. Now they tend to hold them for leasing 2-4 years instead, but still provide the best sales prices usually. I still have a 2003 Grand Caravan I bought in 2004 from Enterprise, still runs great. Right after I bought it had BB Geek Squad install a remote start and alarm system (a Viper), which still works perfectly. Great to exit house into it already warmed up in winter, or AC cooled in summer. Even in 2004, that cost was $400, so probably double that now, but across almost 20 years of use, it's more than paid for itself.
Last time I looked at used van conversions vs 23-25ft Class C campers, the campers were noticeably more affordable than used conversion vans. I'm not sure of hauling capacity differences, but I'm pretty sure there are Class C built on 2500 diesel van frames. Good luck with your eventual decision; I'll be here watching regardless!
You have really done well for yourself, Becca. Lila is pretty gorgeous. The vehicles aren't too shaby either. Love the content as always, lady!
So having had rvs for years and watching many videos on people living in their vehicles full time, my advice would be a self converted van. Vans are less likely to leak, and less issues, plus easier to park in regular spaces. Also better gas mileage, and can park conspicuously if done right. If you choose a factory built RV, be prepared for a lot of issues whether or not it is new, and it would be better to buy one from the west coast.
Becca I went truck shopping in 1996 and ended up with a full size custom van, I drove it for 15 years, the best vehicle I ever bought, loved it, and miss it to this day.

Im gonna say the van is going to be best best. Obviously, I know you could build it but with a budget, your best bet would be to find one prebuilt. With that being said, finding a prebuilt van within your budget probably won't be an easy task. I have a 2010 suburban and i LOVE it!! You could easily make a bed in the back!
The box truck would be cool. If you went that direction I would say you wouldn’t need to keep the tiny house. You could make a Murphy bed that folds up when you are not sleeping. That would leave a ton of room for a kitchen & living space. You could get magnetic screen for the back of the box truck to keep the bugs out & the doors open. It will all work out & you will make the best decision for you & your life & future.

Im a aussie but what I say u need is a F250 or a 2500,as ya said u need the towing capacity but also they are ALOT easier and cheaper to fix than a say a van but also u gotta think what happens if ur in the middle of no where and break down,tryin to get a van out can be harder than say a F250 but also if u have a project and say u need long bits of wood u cant fit it in a van,but if u want a camping option get a small trailer and make a pod camper (here in australia its called a jpod from Jayco) but I will say now DO NOT GET A BOX TRUCK if u want mobility for campin/fishin etc

Have you considered getting a Bus, Van or truck from one of the local school districts. A lot of districts auction them off at a certain time of year. Mostly when they hit a certain mileage, this allows them to constantly upgrade. You may be able to get one for a steal. Contact the transportation or maintenance department for the districts. It could be a way cheaper option. Best of luck Becca!!

Agree that looking at three quarter ton suburban etc might be something to look at. You can get a cargo van to build yourself but anything you get will usually have issues eventually unless you buy new. And who can afford new?
I love the van life videos! I myself would stay away from the box truck as it would be a sweat shop in the summer and it would cost a lot to get it livable imo. But I really think a van would do you more justice then a truck.
Oh gosh, I have a truck with the same door situation as that first truck, the green one. I wish every time I use that truck that it had 4 normal doors. They are very hard to get something out of the back in a tight situation and it is maddening. My dog is always confused that I'm not opening her door for her and then tries to jump in the wrong seat. I only found this channel this past week and have binge watched content after content. I came for the truck camping, got hooked by the fishing, but stayed just because of the connection you build with the viewer. I can tell things are changing greatly for your life and channel and it would be selfish for any of us to say do this or that because we like it. I would choose bigger truck because it fits my lifestyle more but it seems a truck may no longer fit yours. I notice the tailgate is a slight issue at times and then having to climb in or out of the sleeping portion with people around has been an issue. This suggests a truck may be out. Class C camper doesn't seem to fit your do it yourself adventurous, wilderness style. So this leads me to van, box truck, or bus. For what it is and the amount of modification cost and still potentially having cab to bed access issues box truck would be out if I'm picking. So we are down to van or bus. Honestly the bus would likely be better content, better options for customization, better for price, and more flexible for towing and durability. My vote is for a "BECCA'S BUS" series.

I wouldn’t do the van because of the seat belt and air bag light on, maybe it’s been in a collision. Or if u decide to do the van then get them to give u a car fax to make sure it wasn’t wrecked
I think the van will be good for you and you can tow whatever you want to I think that would be your best bet

Sometimes more isn’t better. Don’t get something that you can’t afford. Worrying about payments will make you miserable. And getting something that has too much mileage might give you migraines down the road. Here’s my suggestion. Sell your truck. Get as much as you can for it. Buy a small cheap car that’s easy on gas. And do Uber Eats/Skip the Dishes/Door Dash. And do that and save as much money as you can so you can get a bigger truck or camper van. Do that for as long as it takes. Film it. And do some tent camping videos. You’re young. Now is the time to do this. Hope this helps. Take care and stay safe.

The box truck is probably the most versatile in terms of payload and tow capacity...but talk to us after test driving one. I've driven a couple and to me they handle like a radio flyer wagon, and rattle like a can of nuts and bolts. Very unpleasant for hours on the road. Maybe look into an older conversion van like Todd's?
Hi Becca. I guess it all comes down to what do you want to do with the vehicle (other than it having space for Lila and Skye). Most van, box truc, camper vans or buses are either front wheel drive or rear wheel drive. 4x4 versions exist but say hello to big prices. Do you want to use it in winter on snow and ice? Is mud a possibility? If you got a trailer there would be no more need for the tiny home and I know that gets a lot of views. All this points to a bigger truck but as I say "it all depends on you seasonal plans". Also do you still like rough/semi-stealth camping or do you want more comfort. The more visible and large the vehicle is the more you will have to pay on campsites for overnighting as stealth is no longer an option. I know this is not much help but just something to think about. All the best.
these are things to think about, I don’t have many answers. my goal this weekend is to really sit down and figure out what i NEED and what I can afford to get for what i want as well. lots and lots to think about for sure!

A box truck conversion would be awesome! I've watched this guy that does conversions, Dualex. He does amazing work. Too bad you don't think you could get the van, it's already done, less work. I think either a box truck or a van would be the batter options, but if possible, keep the F150 for zipping around town. 😊

It depends on what you going to do with a truck or a. Camper. If you want to live in something like a camper then that is what you need. If you just going to camp from time to time then a class C camper is over kill.
Problem is money and cost of operating a box truck or a camper that is the same size. Plus cost of buying it. Maybe put a pop up camper on the truck you have. Something light that gives you head room.
If you do look into getting a truck, make sure it has a 6' bed. Most king cabs only have a 5'.
You could get a Honda element for fairly cheap for your camping trips and buy you some time to decide on your towing capabilities. The element has a tent option too
Becca you have a couple good options, but everything is pricey. The box truck may be cheaper, but it doesn’t offer you anymore room in front. The 15,000 price is a good price. At least for what is on sale her in Oklahoma. The van is incredible! Love it, but way expensive. I do agree you need something with more power! Good luck girl!!

Yea idk what the deal is with your truck but my 2011 f-150 super crew 302 v8, Pulls just fine. They’re rated up to 10k towing with the weight distribution hitch. Though I’m sure a long trip would suck. I have pulled a 16’ trailer with a car on it all day with no problems but it’s not fast lol. My opinion, but ya couldn’t give me a Chevy of any kind and only a dodge with a Cummins. Whatever your decision, it’s best to get a vehicle that can handle more than you think you’ll need now. One question do you have a mechanic you trust for their opinion and inspections? That's key to getting something super reliable. Maybe talk with one about going to a public auction or two with you. State auctions would be best as schools are always upgrading their busses, so you might be able to find a short bus well within your price range. They might be high mileage but most of the time they are built like tanks, I have a friend who bought and converted a short bus into a mobile office/tiny house a couple years ago it had 200,000 miles on it when he bought it all he did was change all the fluids and the tires he's driven it around the USA 3x and has been up and down the east coast from upstate NY to SC many times since. I believe it now has 350,000+ miles on it and is still going strong. But beware most of them are Fords... ;)

I feel your pain im in the market to for a new vehicle. I'm voting on a bigger truck with a truck camper. also have to think about every day use. Would probably be better with the towing. that one van that was decked out was so cool. take your time and i fully will be behind you on whatever you choose.

Sprinter vans are great on fuel, you could get a cargo version and build out the inside yourself
I like option B for you but I question if you could also pull a trailer, like the tiny house with it, OMG you would have extra extra space and options for alot of different things traveling and camping again I like option B for you, good luck with your decision 👍
Used ambulances make great conversions and are already wired. And (as a dad of a daughter 24 yrs old) it's lockable and safe.
I have a buddy who converted an old potato chip delivery van into a camper. He's a railfan and he has used it for camping in the Colorado mountains in the winter.
