These guys played awesome live. I saw them in downtown LA, roughly 98ish. The band stood outside after the show and talked to fans. Lead singer was a cool guy, I was about 16. He shook my hand and thanked me for being at the show. It was worth every penny. Great memory.
I grew up in Iran and loved rock music even though we weren't allowed to listen to it. I remember coming across from band because I found a CD in an underground market and when I realized that Amir Derakh was also of Iranian background I was completely amazed lol. I made all of my friends listen to it and we became fans of Orgy (and Korn, MM, Deadsy, etc). Good times.
Brings back so many memories of my brother playing this song in the garage with his friends practicing with their electric guitars. Wonderful times RIP sweet brother.
The original is a travesty. It's like it goes to kick in then changes it's mind. Orgy did it better. Not often the cover is better than the original, but here we are.

I wanna see your id!" Like dude chill, we're not even bad kids 🖕😤. But I remember seeing orgy, they were w/ hole. And prob someone else, I don't remember. I wonder if they ever got my bright colored Crayola markered poster 🤭. I remember hearing rhcp scar tissue song in between their sets too. All like I love this song 🤕 & 🛬 zoom. Sh flew over my head :/. It's not like I actually paid attention... Gah. Had no clue it was about damn poppin cheeries in the bathroom stall. I guess that arena had jokes. I mean, not that I was humping in the gross stalls. Just rip to my youth.

GenX in the house! Loved this song, originally by New Order (if you haven't heard it, please do). Danced many nights to the original in 1983 (Jr in HS) I rarely love the remakes, but this one rocks!! Even down to the vibe of the band. Amazing!
Orgy is one of the few bands from the Nu Metal scene that really holds up in my opinion - mostly because of the strong influence they took from 80s new wave and synth pop, rather than going for the rap rock sound most of their peers were doing. The music sounds a lot less dated. Hell, they were a bit ahead of their time with the new wave revival stuff, now that i think of it - considering bands like The Killers later took that idea and ran with it. Candyass and Vapor Transmission are still usually in my phones mp3 folder. I did fall off after they kinda strayed from that synth guitar sound with the third album though. But it's really a shame they're thought of as a 'one hit wonder' (and even worse that they're considered a one hit wonder who's one hit was a cover song - their original work is great) if people remember them at all.
@@negativeindustrial It was more late 90s, early 2000s. If you were into the nu-metal scene of the time - especially bands like Korn, Linkin Park etc., you for sure would have heard them back then. They were on the "Family Values" tour Korn put on in 1999 or something like that, which is when I rememer them breaking through.

Raising the one note in the word "mistaken" from a minor note to a major note and then doing the same in the same spot throughout the song is such a simple touch but so very effective.
Yeah, modern goths listen to orgy while us old-school goths listen to Bauhaus and Christian Death. Orgy is still cool, but nothing like the stuff old school goths like you and I listen to.

God I remember loving them in the mid 2000s and seeing them live with my buddy Travis. He went and saw this band with me and I went and saw Flogging Molly with him. House of Blues. They had lasers on the end of their guitars, black lights and strobe lights, it was an insane stage show. At least, I'm pretty sure I'm not confusing them with someone else. I saw tons of bands as a teen actually, and was already a full blown addict even in high school, so my memories are foggy. Still remember busting my forehead in the mosh pit and having a knot for weeks.

Raising the one note in the word "mistaken" from a minor note to a major note and then doing the same in the same spot throughout the song is such a simple touch but so very effective.

Yeah, modern goths listen to orgy while us old-school goths listen to Bauhaus and Christian Death. Orgy is still cool, but nothing like the stuff old school goths like you and I listen to.

I listened to Orgy back in high school, but I was today years old when I learned it is a cover
I remember I saw many good songs in MTV Latinoamerica and then I Heard them in Radio Doble Nueve from Peru . My parents didn't speak English and I have my own TV in my room so I can see music or movies when I wanted . I miss those times !!!

God I remember loving them in the mid 2000s and seeing them live with my buddy Travis. He went and saw this band with me and I went and saw Flogging Molly with him. House of Blues. They had lasers on the end of their guitars, black lights and strobe lights, it was an insane stage show. At least, I'm pretty sure I'm not confusing them with someone else. I saw tons of bands as a teen actually, and was already a full blown addict even in high school, so my memories are foggy. Still remember busting my forehead in the mosh pit and having a knot for weeks.

now it's just lame 'reality shows'
Faren Sabri MTV was pretty innovative in that regard. Now a lot of other channels like TLC, History, A&E, etc. have all have the de-evolution as well.
