    I feel this with you're welcome. I don't like it. I always say "sure thing". As in, any time you need it or something. I also feel you're welcome is like reinforcing I'm doing you a favor. I can feel the arrogance. Of course it's personal perception but it's nice to feel validated 😂

  • @tcsocal5554
    @tcsocal5554 3 года назад

    I often leave this comment about your videos, but this time it is particularly on point: お役に立つ、ありがとうございます! [And btw, it's true, my Japanese friends never say doitashimashite, they almost always say iie.]

    • @MarkHogan994
      @MarkHogan994 3 года назад +1

      お役に立つありがとうございます is not a grammatically valid sentence. You can't just have a verb + arigatou. If you thank someone for doing something you need to put a verb in the -te form. So in this case お役に立って. But I'm not sure お役に立ってありがとう is a very natural sentence. It's grammatically correct but it sounds like you're saying "thank you for being useful". It' sounds weird. You should phrase the whole thing differently. For example, この動画は本当に役に立ちました。 作ってくれてありがとうございます。
