I feel like she screwed herself so bad. She's divorced now, they didn't agree on any splitting up of any property, money or assets. No alimony or child support. He's a manipulating and controlling jerk, so I bet she doesn't work and is just stuck at home raising the kids, while he (obviously) does whatever he wants and controls the checkbook as well. I'm sure she only has their shared bank account, no "rainy day" funds or own checkbook. So she's probably stuck in more ways than one. She obviously still loves him, but also probably doesn't have a dime to her own name in order to take the kids and leave since she agreed to all this without protecting herself when shit hits the fan. It's so sad.

Any time Danielle gets to say anything, Garrick goes out of his way and says "sister" really aggressively. I think that he managed to get Roberta to think that Danielle is HIS sister and therefor Roberta's sister by marriage. He doesn't want R to find out the truth about D and why she's really there.

I feel like Danielle’s life plays out like this scene daily. The way he just shut her out of the conversation, she dies a little more inside. She’s trying to buy into what he’s selling but I think eventually she’s going to figure it out. Being jealous is a human emotion, no one wants to be someone’s second choice. She dodged a bullet and now being divorced she has many more options. If these relationships are about more love, why can’t the women take more husbands? This is an unhealthy polygamous relationship, but polygamy is one man with multiple wives and polyamory or polyandry would allow for the woman to have other husbands, boyfriends, or husbands. Many women involved in polygamy don’t want other husbands or men or they would often have chose a different marriage style.

I can definitely see where you are coming from. However, with *all* reality shows, you gotta keep in mind that the story is framed by the producers - they stitch together the video clips to exclude certain parts and to highlight other elements/themes. No one can downplay the husband's manipulative behaviors. At the same time, viewers are watching a story that does not belong 100% to the participants.

I think what makes Garrick's "sister" thing so creepy is that what HE wants is for Danielle and Roberta to act like sisters and not be romantic with each other, but he wants them both to be HIS wives and be romantically interested in him. In breaking Amish, two barely adult girls who never knew anything but Amish left the community banned and shunned, and then TLC didn't even inform them about documents they needed for their flight. The crew just followed them knowing they'll be stranded. Tbh, I am seriously doubting why I even watch such shows. At some point I feel like an accomplice in their situation by giving TLC incentives to keep producing this crap.
