Anyone still here in 2021? Heard this song in my playlist and I remembered this MMV. One of my favourite pandora heart videos. This manga really broke my heart with all the feels.
Yet another reason why Pandora Hearts is a masterpiece, Jack's character was just so well explored and while you hate him, you understand him. Jack was left in the world to rot away, he has absolutely no purpose to live, then Lacie came along and showed him kindness. She gave him an experience of so many different emotions. She gave him a purpose to exist. So he would do ANYTHING for her. And that was why he wanted the world to sink in the abyss, he wanted to give Lacie what she wanted, which was to see the world's beauty. EDIT because someone pointed it out to me and while I knew that I forgot to mention it. Lacie didn't want that. She loved the world the way it was but Jack being the insane person he was trying to find something to live for misinterprets this and decides to destroy it. Which honestly now looking at it, it's probably not because he thought that's what Lacie wanted, more like he was telling himself that because the truth was since he never had a reason to exist he didn't see a reason for the world to either. This manga is such a master piece and deserves a great anime like Attack on Titans, the anime sucks!! They need to make a remake.
Hello!! It's been two years since your comment so I might importune you. Yeah, Jack said he wanted to comply lacie's wish. But Lacie did not want that. She loved the world the way it was. Jack was a twisted person who misinterpret lacie and decide to destroy the world. He was obsessed with the image of a girl covered in blood but he didn't love her. Jack didn't love anyone.

She was his beloved, yet at the same time the object of his hatred. He loved her, but the very fact that his heart has become a prisoner of her to the point he couldn't choose any other paths, drove him to hate her as well. And the book stated that it was only when he loved her, or hated her, that he could truly recognise his "true self". So to say that he never loved her is far-fetched. It's just that his love for her was so distorted through his many years of deception that it evolved into an obsession mixed with pain and hatred. For further clarification, I think the reason why he only recognized his feelings for her as his true self was because those feelings weren't born out of any other ulterior motives. His relationship with her started genuinely without any plotting on either sides. Before her, he didn't have any real relationships since his mother was the only connection he had (though horrible) and she was dead. After his brief meeting with Lacie, every single relationship he built was just a tool for him to meet her again, so many of his feelings were fabricated during that time, to the point he didn't know which were truly his anymore. His feelings for her was the only anchor to his true self, thus came his obsession.
When people say they hate Jack I'm like I love him! I mean think about why he was so crazy. He was abandoned and he had no reason to live. He started breaking, but then Lacie found him. Finding her became the reason of his existence, or so he thought. He felt alive, because she made him feel many emotions, whether they were bad or good emotions. Then she's killed and his reason for living and the drive for his happy feelings is gone. So of course he'd break and become twisted in order to see the one he loves. Even though he could have kept loving her in a different way even if she was dead, but Jack was already twisted and broken enough, Lacies death was the last trigger.

He lost Lacie, his sole reason for existing, and after all the hellish things he had to endure before, her death was the final trigger. He is loyal to a fault. Even after Lacie vanished, he continued trying to grant her "wish". Though that wasn't really her wish at all...

He wanted to spend every sec of his life with her, and couldn't stand the fact she is away from him (which come the "hate", because he felt the warm already). I'm sorry for the really, really, really late response as I didn't realise there was a response until I came back to re-watch this video >.< I'm sorry Back on topic, I agree how you said that he was in love with her, but in my opinion, it was more of an unhealthy infatuation that he had with her. Because of this, he went to look for her and during this lost himself and didn't know who he was anymore. He didn't know what to do when he lost her again, which, as you said, leads to the tragic outcome for him to do anything to get her back.
Does anyone else believe that Jack Vessalius is one of the most dangerous yandere after Gasai Yuno? They both lost their minds because of the abuse they endured from their mothers and are obsessed towards the people that they love putting them above everything else which leads the near destruction of the world.
But this situation is kinda different, Lacie was used as a sacrifice and died where as yuno and yuki committed suicide but yuno didn't and that happened because of a game

This video is beautiul in so many ways, I really keep crying everytime I watch it, the song used is amazing, the whole thing is flawless and shows so much the pain Alice, Lacie and Jack have been through and their relationships (Gosh, Alice and Oz part too is so amazing). This is simply stunning.

As much as i love Lacie and Jack's relationship, i feel really sorry for white Alice. She genuinely loved Jack but he was just using her. At least at the end, they finally get to see each other in person before she disappears

I'm quite fond of jack. Spoilers Actually, I love his character so much. Jack found his reason to live through meeting Lacie, she gave him a goal, love, warmth, kindness and everything he'd never experienced before. On the way to the top, jack lost himself, he wore so many masks that he'd became empty before he even realized it except for that feeling of longing for lacie. His love however gradually grew into an obsession, till the point where he doesn't even know if it's real anymore but he still clung onto it since it was the only thing that was holding him together. His story was so tragic
me bingeing every PH related video and reminiscing all of the joy & pain the anime brought to me after the first episode of vanitas no carte has been released. p.s. this mv is still as beautiful as the first time i heard it which is 7 years ago.

2019 and I'm still in love with Jack and this manga. Not just because Jack is a total hottie (which he is), but because he's such a complex character that takes so much thinking to truly understand. His love was twisted, yet it was so pure at the same time. I can't explain it.
I know Pandora Hearth a long time ago....when the English translation still at the earliest chapters. This is my reaction: 1. WOW, such a nice synopsis. The coverrr...it's promising...all right lets read this. 2. When Oz thrown into the abyss, meet Alice, then got out from there then later meet his cute butler, Gilbert...and then the lady..and so on"...I think, this plot is sick! I love it. The way the manga artist, Jun Mochizuki made the visual, the dark tone, the story plot was so GOODDDDD. To be honest, it gave me so many mix feelings, from sad to gosh this is funny. Then because of to much drama in this manga that made me more depressed, sad, and frustrated. I took a long break. Waiting for this manga to be completely translated first. 3. In my last senior high school days, i picked this manga up again. Then finished this in one go. And mannnnn.....i get the depressed feeling again for more than a week.... When, I remember how Oz silently cry (he actually not crying, but his expression is dying from his father rejection), uncle gil die, crazy hat die, vincent, then gilbert separated from OZ....AAHHHG...it makes me wanna cry again😭😭😭 Until now, i want to re-read it again, but my heart..really really not ready to feel the emotional roller coaster🤣
I love this song. I listen to it and watch the pictures at least once a day. I did my work while listening to and I listen to it in the morning. I sing it two. It is so gentle and sad and lonely. Beautiful. I could listen forever.

You should most definitely read it (: As a huge P.H fan I will admit there is ALOT of sadness, deaths...etc but the story line is brilliant and every event that happens despite the tragedy is worth reading. Even though this video made Lacie and Jack's story seem very sad once you read their entire tale it will ease the sadness of it plus the two main characters still have their story taking place. (:

I can't believe 8 years has passed since I watched this video for the first time, I remember when it just had a few views and chapter 68 of the manga had just came out. I really love this mmv, the song, the traduction and the images, somehow I come back here time to time just to watch this again and enjoy everything and its one of the few videos that I remember so clearly even though many years have passed. Back in 2011 me and my friends avidly read pandora hearts' chapters who would've thought that time would fly quickly and years would turn into a decade
I remember I watch this anime and manga when I was 14. At the time, I thought this anime is about epic adventure. But who knows the emotional baggage it bring is so heavy. So many plot twist, death and the hero is not so heroic. I also learned the ugly side that human can go but only when I was 25 that I can truly understand the reason human is like this. I try to finish the manga the second time to grasp and to understand better about this pandora hearts world but it is so painful. I end up turn away from this manga. Someday I will finish this. The emotional baggage this manga brings is the same as AOT. But I don't know why AOT is the easier to read than Pandora Hearts. I really hope that Pandora Hearts can get the same treatment as Fruit Basket. I hope that the bgm is still the same. Because the bgm emphasize the Pandora Hearts situation and world building.
Jack and Lacie's love story is such a tragedy. When I had read the manga, I can relate on the part when Jack snapped. Anyone could break when sufferings like those happens to a person, I don't hate Jack anymore D:
Beautiful! I'm glad someone is still making nice vids about Jack after chapter 65. I honestly though his tale moving and pretty sad (and I really like Lacie and Oswald).
I came to read Pandora Hearts because of Jack, after seeing a AMV about him. He was so strong, badass and handsome. He was my favorite character. When I first read the manga, only 5 tomes were already published. So, it was only many years later that I learn the truth about him. What a shock ! Since the beginning, he was lying to the characters and to us ! So Break become my new favorite character (he was second to Jack initially) and Glen (not Léo) become my second favorite when he was initially the third. I'm reading the manga since yesterday and now I'm shocked by the forshadowing. Forshadowing everywhere ! But now I can understand why they never remade the anime : the text is so confusing, because when you first read the story, you think you're reading the thoughts of one character while, in fact, they're the thoughts of another one. It would be too difficult to make an anime worthy of this piece of art.
That's what i'm saying i don't know how they can adapt the dialogues where you don't exactly know who's saying them. Like that part in the manga where someone monologues on how important Lacie is to them and we think it's Glen talking but it's actually Jack

The Pandoar Hearts fandom makes such pretty stuff just from the manga. I don't think I've seen any other fandom put out stuff like this, not this well made any way.

--part one of my explanation--Jack was the son of a noble (the vessalius family) but i think he was an accident (maybe?not sure) so thats why he was out poor on the streets when lacie came after getting in a fight with oswald and escaping from the mansion.She pretty much used Jack as a toy for the day.Jack came to really care for her when the baskervilles (her family) took her back to the mansion she lived in.Lacie gave jack one of her earings.8 years later(i think)
i have to give you 5/5 stars for this, it doesn't need nor have much effects to give the mood and the song rhythm and lyrics fit perfectly for Lacie's and jack relationship and jacks feelings after she died. every time i see it i cry a little. btw i love 2:48

I think he fell in love with her. He wanted to spend every sec of his life with her, and couldn't stand the fact she is away from him (which come the "hate", because he felt the warm already). Oswald and Reve made a mistake, while Jack was broken from the fact she's death. The result is that sad end.

Back on topic, I agree how you said that he was in love with her, but in my opinion, it was more of an unhealthy infatuation that he had with her. Because of this, he went to look for her and during this lost himself and didn't know who he was anymore. He didn't know what to do when he lost her again, which, as you said, leads to the tragic outcome for him to do anything to get her back.
I wouldn't really say that Jack loved her. I think he was obsessed with her because she the only reason he was alive.

Does anyone else believe that Jack Vessalius is one of the most dangerous yandere after Gasai Yuno? They both lost their minds because of the abuse they endured from their mothers and are obsessed towards the people that they love putting them above everything else which leads the near destruction of the world.
But this situation is kinda different, Lacie was used as a sacrifice and died where as yuno and yuki committed suicide but yuno didn't and that happened because of a game

Actually, I love his character so much. Jack found his reason to live through meeting Lacie, she gave him a goal, love, warmth, kindness and everything he'd never experienced before. On the way to the top, jack lost himself, he wore so many masks that he'd became empty before he even realized it except for that feeling of longing for lacie. His love however gradually grew into an obsession, till the point where he doesn't even know if it's real anymore but he still clung onto it since it was the only thing that was holding him together. His story was so tragic

2019 and I'm still in love with Jack and this manga. Not just because Jack is a total hottie (which he is), but because he's such a complex character that takes so much thinking to truly understand. His love was twisted, yet it was so pure at the same time. I can't explain it.

I know Pandora Hearth a long time ago....when the English translation still at the earliest chapters. This is my reaction:
1. WOW, such a nice synopsis. The coverrr...it's promising...all right lets read this.
2. When Oz thrown into the abyss, meet Alice, then got out from there then later meet his cute butler, Gilbert...and then the lady..and so on"...I think, this plot is sick! I love it. The way the manga artist, Jun Mochizuki made the visual, the dark tone, the story plot was so GOODDDDD.
To be honest, it gave me so many mix feelings, from sad to gosh this is funny.
Then because of to much drama in this manga that made me more depressed, sad, and frustrated. I took a long break. Waiting for this manga to be completely translated first.
3. In my last senior high school days, i picked this manga up again. Then finished this in one go. And mannnnn.....i get the depressed feeling again for more than a week....
When, I remember how Oz silently cry (he actually not crying, but his expression is dying from his father rejection), uncle gil die, crazy hat die, vincent, then gilbert separated from OZ....AAHHHG...it makes me wanna cry again😭😭😭
Until now, i want to re-read it again, but my heart..really really not ready to feel the emotional roller coaster🤣
I love this song. I listen to it and watch the pictures at least once a day. I did my work while listening to and I listen to it in the morning. I sing it two. It is so gentle and sad and lonely. Beautiful. I could listen forever.

You should most definitely read it (: As a huge P.H fan I will admit there is ALOT of sadness, deaths...etc but the story line is brilliant and every event that happens despite the tragedy is worth reading. Even though this video made Lacie and Jack's story seem very sad once you read their entire tale it will ease the sadness of it plus the two main characters still have their story taking place. (:

Back in 2011 me and my friends avidly read pandora hearts' chapters who would've thought that time would fly quickly and years would turn into a decade
will read it later the 2nd time, i think it will be more amazing when you already know everything
I remember I watch this anime and manga when I was 14. At the time, I thought this anime is about epic adventure. But who knows the emotional baggage it bring is so heavy. So many plot twist, death and the hero is not so heroic. I also learned the ugly side that human can go but only when I was 25 that I can truly understand the reason human is like this. I try to finish the manga the second time to grasp and to understand better about this pandora hearts world but it is so painful. I end up turn away from this manga. Someday I will finish this. The emotional baggage this manga brings is the same as AOT. But I don't know why AOT is the easier to read than Pandora Hearts. I really hope that Pandora Hearts can get the same treatment as Fruit Basket. I hope that the bgm is still the same. Because the bgm emphasize the Pandora Hearts situation and world building.
Jack and Lacie's love story is such a tragedy. When I had read the manga, I can relate on the part when Jack snapped. Anyone could break when sufferings like those happens to a person, I don't hate Jack anymore D:

I came to read Pandora Hearts because of Jack, after seeing a AMV about him. He was so strong, badass and handsome. He was my favorite character. When I first read the manga, only 5 tomes were already published. So, it was only many years later that I learn the truth about him. What a shock ! Since the beginning, he was lying to the characters and to us ! So Break become my new favorite character (he was second to Jack initially) and Glen (not Léo) become my second favorite when he was initially the third.
I'm reading the manga since yesterday and now I'm shocked by the forshadowing. Forshadowing everywhere ! But now I can understand why they never remade the anime : the text is so confusing, because when you first read the story, you think you're reading the thoughts of one character while, in fact, they're the thoughts of another one. It would be too difficult to make an anime worthy of this piece of art.
That's what i'm saying i don't know how they can adapt the dialogues where you don't exactly know who's saying them.
Like that part in the manga where someone monologues on how important Lacie is to them and we think it's Glen talking but it's actually Jack

--part one of my explanation--Jack was the son of a noble (the vessalius family) but i think he was an accident (maybe?not sure) so thats why he was out poor on the streets when lacie came after getting in a fight with oswald and escaping from the mansion.She pretty much used Jack as a toy for the day.Jack came to really care for her when the baskervilles (her family) took her back to the mansion she lived in.Lacie gave jack one of her earings.8 years later(i think)
