Hey brother. Thanks for a well put tutorial. I need your advice. I have a dilemma whether I should try to fix my 2016 Acer Chrombook 14. The battery is almost dead and there are touchpad problem. Otherwise it runs OK. There are no moving parts inside (no fan). This PC is very old and it's EOL.
Hey this comment is completely unrelated to this specific video but i have recently came across a problem on my lenovo laptop which suddenly does not work anymore, all it says whenever i boot it up is Media test failure and boot device not found. I have watched a couple of your videos on this topic and i cant seem to get anything to work. I would appreciate any help
@PC_Monkey Hi so I have tried pretty much all the steps shown in the video and nothing seems to work, I still receive the pxe rom error. My laptop has an ssd and not a hard drive but whenever I take apart my laptop I can't seem to figure out how to take the ssd out and reseat it because there is an aluminum foil strip covering a side of the ssd and I can't pull it out nor is there any screws to take out
Hi this is not to do with video but I’m following an old vid one how to fully wipe the pc as I don’t remember my password but during the reset it stops and says problem resetting your pc no changes where made
@@PC_Monkey hi yes this is the video I watched but I did all them steps got to resetting and at about 2 percent it said, “There was a problem resetting this pc no changes where made” I tried it 3-4 times it did that every time it’s not my pc I bought it I also tried system restore and command prompt vids but for me to be able to use them I need the password to the pc
Just so you know, liquid spill situations can be hard to troubleshoot just one issue as multiple different components and boards including the motherboard itself, could all be faulty. After a liquid spill, you want to first make sure the computer is 100% dry. You would turn your computer off immediately by pressing and holding the power button until the computer turns off. Then you would disassemble the computer as much as your comfortable with, at least trying to remove the bottom case. Then you would turn it on its side and let dry for a couple days. Have you done this yet or are you sure the computer is dry?
If the screen is black, what are the signs that the computer is actually turning on? Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
@@PC_Monkey um no I believe the problem may have been me forgetting to turn off the pc before I took replaced an ssd but I can’t see any signs of a short circuit or capacitor damage

What is your question? Are you looking for help finding the battery or fixing the touchpad?

My laptop will turn on but not display after I replaced an ssd and it eventually turns off while the power led is flashing amber

@@PC_Monkey the keyboard leds I can also hear the hdd start up
