    Great video, Mr Kilo. As someone with little Squad experience, I appreciated that you explained a lot of the basic gameplay functions of the radio, in addition to getting into deeper strategy. Great well-rounded delivery of info. And the editing is fantastic.

    FOR DEFENSE: If you have a HAB off point, you increase the area you need to defend. I’ve seen so many games (especially now after ICO) where people get pushed off the point and just get stuck defending the HAB. This might have been useful before when the exclusion radius was smaller.
    Instead, use rallies as backup FOBs. They are fast to deploy, essentially free, give early warning of enemy movement, are extremely difficult to spot, and require a lot of walking to squash for your enemy because you place them as a backup FOB (away from engagement).

    • @Slay3Kilo
      @Slay3Kilo  10 месяцев назад +1

      If you have your HAB on point, it can easily be found as soon as enemies attack the objective. Placing it on objective just makes it so the enemies can start capping and disabling your FOB at the same time.

    Ive been seeing so many high quality squad tutorials now, nice video and good pointers
    Another point is alot of maps have only a few buildings which means an experienced player can usually guess that your fob might be, in which case its better to hide your radio in a bush and the hab in a forested area.

    Some more points:
    You can place a radio in a small area or room which can possibly be closed off with the hab. Personally this is my favourite when placing habs which is why I will have to disgree with you to "never put radios next to habs" because both have their downsides. Even if the radio is next to the hab you will at least have people to defend it. If the radio is away from the hab a single guy can stop the attack if its an engineer and nobody notices quick enough. So it really comes down to what your opponents strategy is. If your opponent is not flanking heavily a radio off the hab makes sense.
    If you are gonna put it off the hab but definitely don't put it on the edge of the blue circle. This is where most experienced players will look when looking for a radio thats not on the hab. I recommend putting it on like 3 quarters of the radius of the circle.
    Also don't place the radio on the line connecting your main to your hab and not near the you came in from. That is also a good first start when looking for enemy radios. Place it a little offset from your main path by like 50-100m.
    But I'm open for discussion about the "radio next to hab" topic. I feel like both have their place but I'm happy to be proven wrong if you provide good points that actually solidify it as the better option. I always get people annoying SL's for placing a "bad" radio. When every radio has a counter and can go down quickly judging by the enemy movements. The only exception is of course in my Opinion the radio behind the hab. That at least gives you a couple minutes to save the radio while they have to dig the hab to get to the radio.
    Other than that, very good video. I also liked the inclusion of counterhabs since I feel like thats very rarely used in games. :)

    • @Slay3Kilo
      @Slay3Kilo  11 месяцев назад +4

      Thanks! I normally don't try and trap my radio in a room or anything like that. I don't think it does that much to benefit the setup. Once they found the HAB, they will hear the radio, dig down whatever is in the way and barricade themselves in by digging back up whatever you have set up. They are then using what you set up against you, since emplacements can work both ways. So now they are in the room while your radio is bleeding and you are digging down whatever emplacement is blocking the door.
      I understand the idea behind it and I don't disagree that it can be effective, but I'd rather instill the separated approach, especially for newer players, rather than have them looking for that setup where they can do this and/or spending a bunch of time trying to make this happen. Additionally, if SLs set up effective rallies then they can spawn on the rally to try and fend off issues at the HAB or at least to delete it. This is more effective if the radio, HAB and rally are all used in a way that benefit each other and I find it more successful when separated.
      And yes, I do very much agree about the 75% HAB distance from radio, instead of putting it on the line! There's so many tricks and tips, hard to include all in one video.

    • @Pokerface-jpg
      @Pokerface-jpg Месяц назад

      Putting the HAB next to the radio is almost always a bad idea, close the room with radio off with a vehicle repair station, it covers the radio sound and takes forever to dig down

    Rallies on FOB radios to give you a early warning of enemy nearby your radio or a rally slightly off center from the objective can be useful too in case your team loses your FOB radio. Also taking into account MSR (Main Supply Routes) which you touched on are important. Your highways, and roads leading to the objective and enemy FOBs. That's the second thing you have to think about when you place a FOB radio, especially if you are attacking. The enemy could quickly discover a badly placed if you place it near a MSR. Hope this helps!

    imo if you have 2 attack HABs going, using one as a mortar/stand-off position with emplacements works pretty well. it suppresses the enemy and forces them to push off the objective to counter you while other squads push from a different direction. also, if you place a rally on the radio it means that you have an early warning if enemies get within 30m of your radio, if your HAB gets overrun it also automatically puts your squad in a position to defend the radio and retake the HAB. also, put the radio in rooms that will be easy to clear, radios in small rooms that can be cleared with 1 grenade are better than radios at the top of stairs and around tight corners that enemies can hold after finding your radio

    I think one part important part of both defensive and offensive habs you don't include in the video is the position of your rally. Having a rally off cap is essential for defending defense habs and a good in-between or flanking rally is important in making sure your offense hab is not found in 10 seconds and for defending that hab

    • @Slay3Kilo
      @Slay3Kilo  11 месяцев назад

      I didn't include it, because I think that's a separate topic for another video, lol. I also don't really discuss HAB placement as much as just focusing on where the radio can be placed. But yes, very much agree with it's importance.

    I take hard stance on heli radios - DON'T. They never last, it's not worth it. Only works if you defend it.

      Big agree TBH. The exceptions are so infrequent that a hard anti-heli fob stance is more appropriate.

      Agreed. I will sometimes to do it, in certain lobbies.. Like if we're going to an isolated possible OBJ that is out of the way or something or maybe we just want a challenge, lol. Otherwise, no. It's such a common mistake and it's rarely defended well.

    Hey buddy just found your channel and it's really nice.
    If you have time could you make a video about squad leading, I'm 100 hours into the game and to be honest I got really fed up from sl's that just don't lead but basically do nothing.
    There are much videos about it but I guess you have a good way to explain stuff.
    It's a good game and I really want to have fun in the much less time I have , not to hope from squad to another just cuz an sl decided he don't wanna be anymore.... Sorry for the long take .
