I would add the angle grinder with a diamond disc and a diamond milling tool for those curved cuts. Very informative and useful video. I wish I had seen a video like this when I started out.
tools missing that are essential: Mixing whip, Buckets, Sponges, Microfiber towels, Grout brush or toothbrush, grout saw or razor knife, sheetrock knives or flat trowels, corresponding tile blades per material for both the saw and grinder, hole saws for corresponding size holes under 3", oscillating tool for flush cuts on trim for flooring and blades, sawzall for demo work, hammer and pry bars, assorted bits, wood hole saws, often have to remove a water stop to get a nice tight cut on a plumbing stub out so adjustable wrenches, slipjoint pliers, cold chisel comes in real handy, rotary hammer for demo work with chisels and bits, 8' level for large areas, 6' level for medium areas to get a survey on floors and walls, or same size straight edges, these are all tools I use throughout my jobs.

Yea, I didn't realize how much I needed the Whale tail til I brought a non setter friend to help me and he was shocked at how much dust I inhaled, now I won't mix without it.
Facts! My dewalt grinder is always with me. It’s impossible to make cuts around valves without a grinder. Unless you have a diamond hole saw set. And even that can’t cut everything a grinder can. You can set a whole floor with an angle grinder if you wanted to.

I put grinder above table top. it does almost all the same things imo, and better to save up for a sliding saw. those table tops sometimes knock the back off of glass tiles and also the water guard can become mis aligned very easy and catches on mosaics. I find I do most work with my snapper (cutter) and grinder and need the wet saw less and less these days
Here is a pro tile tip for everyone. Once you destroy the spring in your tape measure by getting it wet and it rusting. Take that tape measure and pull out the first 40 or so inches and cut it out and keep it while you throw out the housing. Save that length and keep it at your tile saw and use it for your cuts. Now it can keep getting wet while your good tape stays inside the house. Soon you will ruin your second tape measure and do the same thing. Now keep this section in the house. Now you will only use your good tape for measuring rooms etc. You use that short section to drag around on the floor with you. It becomes a lightweight flexible tape measure.

Grinder is a must have , toilet flange cut outs , scribing , i don’t know about you but I run my hole bits on a grinder they last longer than the drill variation but that’s more personal preference

I see a lot of videos on hole saws and never owned one. Been doing tile all my life and have only cut square holes with wet saw or angle grinder. I just find it easy to cut a square I guess and every escutcheon plate always covers so never found the need to drill round
I have a cute lil 7 1/4” chop saw with a 60 tooth blade for cutting my schluter edging. Small easy to haul and the blade is cheaper than a 10 or 12” saw.
Thank you very much for the Skill saw recommendation, it's just what I needed. Before watching this video I thought I would have to rent or at least buy a much more expensive option.
Wish Australia had cutters like that, did all my apprenticeship using grinders to cut floors and walls in that couldn't be cut straight on a manual tile cutter, so much dust.
@@mattburke9991 I agree 100% that you wouldn't use a grinder on Glass tile even a Wetsaw doesn't give it the cleanest cuts. But any Tile Setter that doesn't own a grinder is Wrong on so many levels.

I'm not sure anyone is claiming you have to use an angle grinder, but there are plenty of professionals who've been laying tile for decades who swear by them. That's a fact.

I'm taking the grinder over a small tabletop wetsaw. For toilet flanges and shower diverter cuts a grinder is practically necessary.

A plug in angle grinder with a diamond blade is a must have. Not really a better way to cut holes/curves, once you know how at least.

i bought a fiberglass 6' folding rule for exactly this reason no more trashing tapes and nothing to rust

Ever tried to cut glass or a curb with a grinder? Makes for a hideous edge. Even the cheapest wet saw is crucial

Absolutely need an angle grinder before the table top saw, it can do everything the tabletop saw can plus radius cuts as well.

Tile nippers are inexpensive and also work well with the table top saw on mosaics cleaning the little nubs the saw likes to leave on the ends.
