- Dubbed the scariest cave in the UK, I couldn't resist exploring! Hodge Close Quarry in the Lake District is home to both Cathedral Cave and Skull Cave - the reflection in the water looks like a skull when you turn it around which is why people call it the scariest cave in the UK. Great place for diving too with underwater caverns to explore!

This is one of my favourite areas of the Lakes. I came across that camp last time I was there and was disgusted with the state of the place. Several fire pits, rubbish left around and trees axed down with trees partly damaged. It's a shame some people spoil it for the rest of us by not sticking to the leave no trace ethos.
It wasn't too bad when we visited, only 1 fire pit and no rubbish. Agree I get really annoyed about people axing trees down there's no need - plenty of dead fall about.

Cheers Mike we were quite restrained on the drink believe it or not! But still stay up late talking nonsense lol! Yh I'd love to go diving in there one day, but I can't scuba dive yet haha!
Did you know there are a couple of goldfish living in the pool Kat......I saw them when I was there :-)
