I’ve been watching dead mall content since about 2018 and this was the first video I’ve watched on a mall I’ve actually been to! I saw Ace’s adventures video saying you cover the Midwest. I’ve always loved the signs outside for this mall and it’s cool to see someone cover it!
It is cool to see the other Valley View Mall. I have been to the Dallas Valley View a few times over the years. What a mess the Dallas version became over the years. I like the blue ceilings throughout the mall and really like the former Sears mall entrance. Most Sears mall entrances had the tiles installed in the 1990's renovations, but not here. The JCPenney exterior is looking pretty worn out.
3 months later, it's worse. Coney has pulled out and it was just announced hours ago the mall is being publicly auctioned off in the beginning of next month. I highly doubt whomever buys it will continue to use the property as a mall as this type of shopping, especially here, is long sine dead as a profitable business. I'm expecting them to bulldoze the mall, safe for the parts not in the sale, the sears, Macy's and herberger locations and repurpose the location as something with less stores and more parking. But who knows. Either way, I can guarantee they aren't going to spend millions to keep the failing old girl going.
I was disappointed that Hy-Vee kept the mall entrance closed off, as I think it would have breathed some life into the mall, but I also understand that it may have caused some problems. I'm thankful there's still one Coney Island location (The Village Shopping Center)
Great video! Kohan now owns this property. Looks like it has lots of potential.
I’ve been here many times. It’s sad to see it dying. I’ve also been to Buzzard Billy’s. Great place and pretty fun decor.

It was a fun visit. Thank you for watching!
I was born and raised in La Crosse. I used to work at Musicland there.
Glad to hear that Herbergers space was put to something useful and needed in the community.
Valley View Mall was recently purchased for 13 million! I hope the new owner is able to revive it and get some new stores in there!

I still like all your videos. Keep up the good work on your videos.
I went to the Downtown Coney relativedly recently.. about 3 or 4 years ago already and it was still awesome from what I remembered!!
Glad I could help you again with research.
Bachmann’s still has a location in the Edina Galleria so I’d consider that a mall location.
You are right. I just reviewed my Galleria footage but only captured a glimpse of it. I'll have to go back and get proper footage for a future video.
Thank you for another interesting video!
With the current pandemic, I would suggest a coughing or sneezing fit as a way to fend off 20 questions guy.
Muhahaaha 🎃
Name a small town 1970s mall that’s in Minnesota, I’ll wait
The one in Rushford?
Trade home store, Wow

I guess they did well with the new HyVee, but I don’t know if that’s really helping other mall businesses much.

Should have looked in the Sears windows
My next video will have a lot of abandoned Sears footage where I peer inside.
