- Home Movie Day (HMD) is a celebration of amateur films and filmmaking held annually at many local venues worldwide. In Vancouver, HMD will be celebrated October 15th, 2016. Home Movie Day events provide the opportunity for individuals and families to see and share their own home movies with an audience of their community, and to see their neighbors’ in turn. It’s a chance to discover why to care about these films and to learn how best to care for them. Members of the public are invited to bring their home movies on film (8mm, Super 8, 16mm) and video (VHS, DV, MiniDV) for inspection, discussion, and on-site projection to the Grand Luxe Hall, 303 East 8th Avenue,Vancouver, BC from 12-4 pm. The event also features hands-on demonstrations on how to work with Super 8 film today, including loading a camera, shooting, and hand-processing film.
This free event is open to the public and you don't have to bring any movies to enjoy the fun!
